The world had been closing, the home he had grown up in was slowly being swallowed and there was nothing anyone could do about it. Vincent had done his best to try and save the people he loved but at the end of it all it didn't seem to make a difference. The portal he had opened up dropped into an open field. Vincent groaned as his body hit the ground and then the portal sealed itself. He slowly opened his eyes and then squinted from the sunlight in his eyes. Where was he? Vincent sat up and looked around him and there was nothing but tall grass, flowers and a few sparse trees. He was dressed plainly and he touched his forehead and realized the gem was gone. He also then felt and realized he had his left arm back. It made him wonder if the tattoos Arty had given him were gone as well.

He then went to see if there was anyone else he managed to bring with him and then he realized he was all alone in this world.  Vincent felt a cold wave go over his body and there was nothing that could comfort him in that very moment.  He calmed himself, it was random where he ended up, maybe there was a chance that others had ended up in random places too.  That was certainly an explanation that kept him going for the time being.  Vincent stretched his limbs and started heading south, he hoped that he would at least find a city.  He thought about shifting to his wolf form to run and maybe hunt some food when he realized that his wolf was absent from his mind for now.  He would have to figure it out later, hopefully his wolf wasn't going to be gone forever.

Vincent walked  along, picking up plants and things he figured he could sell once he got into a city.  At least it would give him an idea of the currency around here and maybe he could buy himself something to eat.  He loaded all the things he had gathered into the bag he had.  When he reached the city he was relieved to see civilization.  Vincent entered into the city and went to find an apothecary or some other type of shop he could sell the goods he acquired.  He managed to do that and made a little bit of coin, he was sure he had been ripped off but it was certainly a start.

He ended up buying himself some bread and cheese from someone and would have coin later for some more food.  Assuming he could find another way to earn money he might be able to spend the night in the tavern.  Vincent made his way through the city to see if maybe there would be something more he could do to get settled.  Not to mention get familiar with the layout of the city.

Then something occurred to him, this was almost the fresh start he had always wanted.  No one would know the legacy attached to his surname, no one would kick or beat him for who his father was.

And for the first time since he had gotten here Vincent smiled.

Kiba

Race: Diowolf/Dragon Shade
Gender: Male
Class: Champion - Protector Vitae

”These prices seem a little steep for what I would be getting,” Kiba negotiated with the merchant. He noticed the man’s wrinkled nose of agitation at the diowolf’s claim. It was a truthful claim, yet the merchant did not want to be called out for it. The order being placed was rather large. All to be delivered to a new guild hall established in the ruins. A light twinkle shone in his Reztreal eye at the notice that there was no argument that could be made. ”I’m willing to pay handsomely for the delivery, but the delivery cost and your established price for the products are just not reasonable.” Another wrinkled nose face was made at the diowolf before a hand was jutted out for a shake in a deal struck. Kiba bowed his head before turning away to hide the smirk. He was not going to spend the guild funds easily.

Moving along the market streets, the Champion let himself edge through the crowds. Despite all that had happened recently there were smiles upon the faces that belonged to the city residents. A light hand touched the center of his chest right about his heart. It was difficult to believe that it had only be a short time ago that he had died at the hands of his enemy. That they had not only broken his neck, but pierced his heart. Only thanks to Lady Angela did he get a second chance.

He moved to the side of the street to lean against one of the walls. The horror of his death and the sight of his distraught family replayed in his head. Kiba clenched his teeth while attempting to let the trauma pass.

A familiar scent helped bring him out of the daze. A scent that he thought would be long forgotten. The diowolf frowned deeply as he pushed away from the wall. ”How?” he spoke gently to himself. Kiba began to push through the crowds to search for whom he was certain was in Revaliir now. His stomach felt a lurch at the thought of how much time had passed. The diowolf shook his head while moving through the crowd to follow that particular scent. First, he had to lay eyes upon him.

Further and further Kiba went through the city to find his target. A sharp inhale was taken at the sight of the familiar broad shoulders. Kiba would have recognized the giant moose man anywhere. He only worried about if Vincent would be open to reuniting. Maybe, he wouldn’t want to interact with the Balatros. Either way, Kiba was willing to try.

”Excuse me,” he spoke while clearing his throat. A light finger tapped Vincent on the shoulder in hopes to gain attention. ”Vincent?”

Vincent had been wandering around some trying to figure out what his next move was.  The market had gotten him some food and coin, perhaps he would just find his way to a library to begin learning about the land he was in.  He knew nothing of the magic here, if there were deities and who they were.  He wondered if they had pawns like Daeluin did, like he had been for both Life and Death.  Vincent truly hoped to lay low as much as he could.  At least until he got a better footing on what he was dealing with here.  He couldn't help but think of his family that was now gone from his life, his wife, his daughters, his siblings.  Every single one of them was gone, here he was in this new world alone having to start over from scratch.

He tried to think of the good things that could come of this.  He could work on all the projects he had in mind before the world went to shit, no one could stop him from getting the knowledge that he so desperately craved.  Vincent could be his own person, make a name for himself and finally be out from under his father's dark shadow.  The horrible reputation that man left died with the world he had come from.  Vincent smiled a little more to himself as he walked along.  Yes, nothing could bring him down.

He heard someone speak and he moved to get out of the way and that was when he felt a tap on his shoulder.  It caught him off guard a little but then he turned around.  That's when he saw that familiar face that he hadn't seen in so long.  His old guild leader, Kiba.  Vincent looked shocked to see him and was a little taken aback by the sudden appearance of this man.  Surely this had to be a hallucination, right?

"Kiba?"  Vincent said, his hand reached out touched Kiba's hand to test if this was a fabrication of his mind or actually the man himself in front of him.  When his fingertips touched solid flesh Vincent's face softened and his eyes watered a little.  It felt good to see a familiar face.  "I can't believe you found me here of all places, I certainly didn't expect to find you."
