Rain poured from outside of an inn in Adeluna's warm and dry walls. Through the stained glass windows, he saw the world drown as the heavy downpour pooled down the elegant ruby and emerald image of Angela. The rain fell hard in sheets against the sturdy walls of the inn, causing the sound to reverb even in Serci’s room. A deep sigh fell from Serci’s delicate frame as he found himself to the large obround vanity mirror. He took a seat, dropping his shoulders as he stared at his feminine appearance. His once vibrant blue eyes had been replaced with puffy redness and a cloudy film covering the distant gaze his eyes seemed to have lately. The gentle smile he was known for was on his face, but there was no meaning behind his lips. His usual pale skin no longer glowed, but sat dull. Even his hair had begun to change, losing its vibrant hue, becoming a more sullied blonde.

A lump grew in his throat as the rain had picked up. Serci reached for the small brush that sat on the table and began thoughtlessly began to run the brush through his tattered hair. He took long, slow strokes not particularly caring if the brush straightened his hair or not. Although his gaze was upon the mirror in front of him, his mind thought about the friends he had loved now gone. He fixated on their lifeless eyes as he continued the process of brushing his hair as he identified each pair of eyes. First was a pair of chocolate eyes with a bearded face. His face was stern, but a wavering smile was on the verge of his lips. The second was a woman who held nothing but love in her smile. Her eyes held a love that only a parent could have. Moving down the line a pair of golden eyes with dark shaggy hair. Light surrounded his body and although his eyes glowed bright, they were half shut, on the verge of dreams. Serci continued moving down the line, identifying each pair of eyes that judged him until he landed on Dalanesca’s icey blue eyes.

Serci quickly dropped the brush in shock as thunder sounded from outside. His face suddenly grew hot, his eyes threatening to spill over the thought of his friend. He watched as a tear found its way to the corner of his eyes and roll slowly down his face and drip onto his dull blonde hair that lay pooled onto the table. A heavy sigh escaped from his throat as he fixated on the messy heap that was considered his hair. Absentmindedly, Serci stood up from his seat and paced around the room before grabbing a small ornate knife with a decorative handle. Stumbling back to the mirror, Serci took a final look at his long hair that he put up with for so long. With a quick rip he pulled the knife across his hair, cutting it where it sat just below his jaw line. He continued the process hastily, making many mistakes. In the end, a completely new face looked back at him in the mirror. The hair was jagged and uneven all around, with some parts longer than the ones next to it. It was still femeine in appearance, it was Serci after all. But the asymmetrics of the haircut was very unlike Serci. After all, he was one of appearances and order.. He stared at his new appearance before breathing with a heavy sigh. He staggered for his door, listening to the rain crash against the inn as he stumbled down the hall towards Eylisa.
