It didn’t take long for Fenriz to fall back into old habits once he was once more left on his own. For a while he had almost grown accustomed to traveling with other people, traveling with their purposes in mind as well as his own. But like many things in the young boy’s life, this didn’t last. Fen didn’t have an exact count on the days that had passed since he had last had a companion on the road, but so much had changed in the meantime that he could only assume the number was quite high. Potentially higher than he was even capable of keeping track of.One of the few things that hadn’t changed was his goal of reuniting with his parents. Equally without change was how close he was to achieving such a task. Despite others attempting to provide assistance where they could, the young vampire didn’t feel any closer to ascertaining their location than he was previously. What had changed, however, where the discovery of his own abilities. Though his journey to find the ones that had turned him into a vampire had continued to stagnate, every day he found himself figuring out first hand more and more what being a vampire entailed. In most cases, the results had been rather… harrowing, so the fledgling had set out with a secondary goal in mind. To learn more about himself, as to be a bit more prepared for any future changes. It was both of these quests that eventually brought him to Adeluna City. One of his old habits that he had returned to was eavesdropping on others conversations to obtain information. Most of the time this wasn’t difficult. One might be surprised at how candid some people can be when they think the only one listening to them is a small child. And in their defense, a lot of what came out of the average person’s mouth was either too confusing or too boring for the boy to care about. But every now and then someone would drop a nugget of information that proved valuable. In this instance, he overheard a couple of scholars discussing the castle in Adeluna, or more importantly the library that contained information on a wealth of topics. And here he stood, the cool breeze of the night billowing his hooded cloak enough to lift it from dragging on the ground. With hands gripping the hood to prevent it from being forcibly removed from his head, glowing eyes surveyed the grandiose castle. At first all he could manage to do was gawk at the sizable structure. Despite his nomadic lifestyle, nothing in his memory had sufficiently prepared him for something of this size. Before long, however, his purpose for being here creeped back into his young mind, and subsequently snapped him back to attention. Sneaking his way into the city wasn’t difficult, but he could only imagine making it into the castle would be an entirely different story. Asking seemed fairly out of the question. Even if he was certain of who to talk to, it seemed unlikely that they were going to let someone of his age just walk right in. Not to mention someone of his… condition.Seating himself against the wall of one of the many buildings surrounding him, Fenriz allowed his absent minded gaze to get lost among the surprisingly still populated streets. Traveling at the hour that he had to, he had grown fairly accustomed to empty city streets, but this city manage to break even that expectation. Thankfully, most of them seemed to pay him no mind, aside from a few glances here and there. With no distractions to speak of, his thoughts began to wonder until…A loud crack of thunder boomed through the night’s sky, startling the young boy. Looking up above, Fenriz could see the dark cloud rapidly descending on the city.“Great…” he moaned to himself. Closing his eyes, he tried once more to focus on the task at hand. He had to get into the castle soon, to at very least a place to ride out the storm. But with eyes still pressed shut and mind lost in its own thoughts, Fenriz had no means to notice that someone had taken notice of him.
