The frayed ends of the dry bark would serve well to catch fire. Thought Viola reaching down to grab the last bit of kindling to spark the fire for tonight's evening respite as the sun seemed to be just shy of an hour till sundown. Off in the horizon the towers of Adeluna City poked between the edge of the small woods, a three maybe four days ride haze blurred it into the darkening colors of the sky. Dropping the kindling on top of the already gathered logs, Viola then took a moment to bring it to flame with a twitch of the wrist. The wood crackled as the air around it was nurtured slowly through the spell until nature took over to allow it to burn naturally on its own. Another fifteen minutes later Viola had finished skinning the pair of rabbits she had managed to trap with a collection of herbs and carrots as bait and began to turn them round and round the spigot over the fire. The smells of fresh cooking began to elicit good memories but it was another sense that brought another feeling, one of wariness. The woods had grown silent. Not even an owl's evening song could be heard over the crackling of the night fire. Viola readied a spell in case she needed to protect herself from the suspected visitors.
