Veris' eyes snapped wide open. A look of shock crossed his face, but it soon vanished as he regained his composure. "It seems as though there has been a wrinkle in the fabric." He said. A portal had appeared before him, a gateway of unknown origin. He chuckled and stepped through, eager to see what awaited him.

Veris leaned against the wall of a dark alley, the cold brick draining the heat from his back. He stood silently, observing all that passed. He drummed his fingers against his crossed arms, a nervous tick he had developed. A scowl manifested itself upon his face as he grew impatient. "The nobles must not visit this side of town." He said to himself quietly. "Well, I might as well just wait anyway. Who knows what might come through here?"
