"I am honored, Pyzis, but maybe you should hear us perform before you make that decision," Justice chuckled as the attendant wrapped the package. "Once you hear us, then you can make that determination," he smiled before Rizka came bouncing back in her new clothing. She was still wearing her old clothes but she looked excited none the less.

"All set?" Justice asked. She nodded eagerly and set the list of items one of the seamstresses had given her to itemize the purchase and her package on the counter by Pyzis's package. "I didn't want to wear them until after I've had a bath. It would be shame to soil such pretty items so quickly," she said.

"Sound wisdom," Justice said with a nod. "My turn then," he said before he collected the items he had chosen and went back to the seamstresses to make sure that they would fit properly.

Rizka turned back to Pyzis. "Thank you so much for your help," she said gratefully. "Did you and Justice find something for Angela?" she asked curiously motioning to the first package on the counter.

Pyzis gave Justice a small smile that did not reach her eyes as the two of them shared in each others pain. "I found that the first step for my scars to heal was to speak about them. I spent so many years being silenced and alone that I only got better when I shared," she admitted but nodded sympathetically to Justice. "Each person deals with their grief differently. I hope that in time your scars heal, but thank you for your reassurances, it means more to me than you know."

Pyzis watched him as he spoke of his sister and she couldn't help but feel hopeful for the two bedraggled strangers. The way his eyes lit up when he spoke of her and the protectiveness in his voice spoke of success for the two of them in the future. Excitement coursed through her at the thought of watching the two of them perform.

Justice pointed out his idea for the gift for Angela and Pyzis marveled at the adornments. She had never seen someone wear such a thing, but they seemed very fitting for Angela. Perhaps there was something in this city after all. "Justice this is perfect! I must insist though that you think about also performing for Angela. I owe her everything that I am and I think a performance from you will be worthy." she spoke as she picked out a set of the foot jewelry and took all of her items up to the counter.

"Think about it while you help me get my things to my inn," Pyzis offered as she watched the shopkeeper wrap her things up and place them in boxes. By the time he was finished there was certainly more than she would be able to carry. It was a good thing she had found Justice and Rizka or she might have had to make multiple trips. Shopping was tiring enough for her anymore.

Justice put a gentle hand on Pyzis' shoulder, almost in a reassuring, brotherly manner. "It takes a strong individual to shed their fears, and I commend your bravery for sharing that with a complete stranger such as myself," he told her softly. "We all endured our own form of torture. Yours lasted longer than ours, and it says something about your resilience that kept you from giving up," he said with a charming smile. "Scars like that might never truly go away, but in time they do fade. That much, I can promise," he told her reassuringly.

"I watched you helping her. Thank you for that. She's several years my junior, and she means the world to me," he smiled. "As for a sample performance, I think we could manage something. We don't have the equipment we once had thanks to our recent mishap, but we've always prided ourselves in being able to improvise," he said confidently. He looked at Pyzis, as if remembering something.
"You said something about a gift. I would assume that this is to be for your moth– the Goddess Angela, correct?" he asked, recalling the earlier conversation. "I've been struck with an idea. I understand that the Goddess of Earth is known for not wearing footwear, correct?"

He motioned for Pyzis to follow him over to where he had noticed several pieces of jewelry. "I've met many acolytes, priestesses, and even some dancers who go barefoot, but they always wore some sort of adornment on their feet," he said as he looked about and found what he was looking at over near the footwear. There were several pieces of jewelry that resembled sandals, without having the sturdy sole to protect the bottom of the foot. Some were plain, made of bead and hemp cord, and others were more extravagant, made with silver and pearls. "Perhaps something like this, would be a suitable gift?" he offered as a suggestion of the foot and ankle jewelry.

Pyzis listened with a heavy heart as Rizka explained the circumstance of her sisters' passing. While she tried to smile through it Pyzis could see the grief in the woman's eyes. When Justice butt into the conversation and closed the matter, Py was a little shocked. After he explained his reasoning her shoulders softened and she understood it had come from a place of concern.

"I'm so sorry for your loss, the both of you. I understand the need to put the past behind you, I too had an unpleasant fifty years of existence. It's only just recently when I was able to move past the darkness of my history that I found happiness." she empathized. The last thing she wanted to do was bring back the memories of Rizka's pain. Pyzis was still trying to shed her own nightmares. Some nights when she lay with Thyme she awoke screaming. His calm assurances were the only thing to bring her back to reality.

"You see, I'm sort of a rare creature. I was held captive by a sorcerer who then tortured me for the…healing quialities I posess. It was a long fifty years and I would do much to forget every second of it." Pyzis quietly admitted to Justice. Rizka had gone back for a fitting with the seamstress. She shifted on her feet uncomfortably, admititng what had happened to her felt right, but she wasn't happy about it.

"On a better note, I think your sister will look amazing in the clothing she has found. I would really like to sample a performance from you two sometime. I have the beginings of an idea, but I can't reveal it all yet." she smirked. If they were as good as she thought they would be Pyzis would ask if they would perform for Angela.

"Rizka, we agreed," Justice said coming up beside the women now, over his arm draped several articles of clothing. "We agreed not to bring them up," he said looking at Rizka gently. He sighed and looked at Pyzis. "Talking about what happened to them does us no good. Dwelling on the past won't change anything and they would be ashamed of us for doing so," he told the nice young woman who was helping his sister. He took Rizka's hand and held it reassuringly, and she gave him an apologetic smile.

"If you've picked everything out," he began, "you should go try everything on and see what adjustments need to be made." The girl nodded and took the items that she and Pyzis had picked out and went to inquire of the seamstresses there to help her get fitted.

Justice watched her for moment before he looked at Pyzis. "I apologize for my abruptness. It isn't my intention to treat your kindness with coldness. Rizka doesn't remember what happened, and I would like to keep it that way. She's blocked out those memories completely, and I would hate for her nightmares to come back again," he explained. He looked weary in the firelight, more so than his young form should have. "It's been hard looking after her on my own all these years," he chuckled softly. "She's my junior by only five years."

"Having siblings is completely different than having a child, I think… unless I suppose you are the eldest sibling and you are taking care of a sibling who is young enough to be your child," Rizka commented. "Having sisters was… infuriating, and frustrating and I never got anything new. But they were always there to sing and dance with me, to do my hair and help me make my clothes. They were always there to cheer me up when I was sad. And then Justice and Daelyn would always be there to protect us, and to make sure that we always had food over the fire. Sometimes having brothers was better than having sisters. They were so quick to protect and try to make me laugh if me and one of my sisters were fighting," she said, reminiscing, her dark eyes becoming wet. She sniffed and wiped her face with her sleeve and tried to laugh.

"I don't have much experience with children apart from entertaining them, so I am not the best person to ask," she said with a soft laugh. "And you are doing fine just by talking to me, Pyzis. It's been a very long time since I've had another woman to talk to," she admitted.

The question made Rizka fall silent for a moment and she swallowed hard. "They died," she answered softly. "All five of them… our four sisters and our other brother," she said, her tone suggesting she didn't want to talk about it. "Justice and I have been on our own since then."

Pyzis watched as Rizka picked out a top and a corset to wear over it. It wasn't something she would have picked, but she also was soon to have a watermelon sized bump on her front. It was nice to watch as the other woman became more comfortable and found something of her own liking. It wasn't often that she got to help someone discover their personal style.

"What was it like having sisters? I'm an only child and have never had a sibling to deal with, in fact, if I'm being honest I have no idea what I'm going to do with a baby." she panicked, realizing this fact for the first time. Having a child with Thyme had been a surprise for both of them, but she had always envisioned herself as a mother. Just now she was noticing her lack of actual mothering experience. Having had no siblings and having been locked away for fifty years Pyzis hadn't been around children since she herself was one. With a huff, she sat down on the chair and placed a worried hand over her small swell.

"I guess I need to spend more time with kids if I want to be prepared for this." she wondered. Pyzis shook her head and gazed up with Rizka with a smile. It wasn't like her to let something so trivial overcome her. Then again being pregnant was something new entirely. It felt at times as if her body had been hijacked by some tiny passenger.

"Forgive me, I'm not being a very good shopping buddy." she apologized and stood back up. When Rizka told her about what it was her and Justice did when performing she couldn't help but beam. With so much talent they would be perfect performing for Goddess Angela. Though she couldn't help but see the sadness in Rizka's eyes and she spoke of having no troupe to perform with. If Rizka had spent time around a fire with her sisters, she must have performed with them also.

"What happened to your sisters Rizka?" she asked solemnly. It was obvious to Pyzis that the two newcomers had befallen some sort of tragedy lately. Perhaps it had something to do with their previous troupe or their sisters. If they were alone it could be as simple as them getting married off, but that look in Rizka's eyes spoke of something darker. It was in Pyzis' nature to help as much as she could. If she could heal a broken body with a single tear, she felt obligated to fix other problems no matter how large.

Rizka looked at the white shirt with the billowy sleeves and nodded in approval. "I like this one, when with this," she picked up an over-corset, and showed it to Pyzis. She couldn't help but giggle. "I've not had fun like this for a long time," she said. "Except before it wasn't in a store, but sitting around a campfire with my sisters, and they were fitting me to mend some of their old dresses so they would fit," she said. She looked sad for a moment, but it faded quickly when she noticed Pyzis watching Justice.

She was all enthusiasm when Pyzis asked what it was they did. "We do just about everything. We both can play just about any instrument you put in our hands, and we both sing. I dance more than Justice, but don't let that fool you. He knows how to move too, and he can tell some of the most fantastic stories," she explained. "We were part of a bigger troupe once. There were seven of us, but unfortunately, that is no more. It's hard doing what we used to do without them," she said, the sadness returning. It took her a few seconds longer to shake away that look of sadness and she looked back at Justice.

"He works so hard to provide for us…to play and smile and make like everything is as it once was. I think he does it for me mostly," she said, finding it hard not to confide in Pyzis. She cleared her throat and put on her smile again. "He's the ideal older brother. I just wish I could do something more for him."

Pyzis beamed at the choice that Rizka made, it was a beautiful rich color that would make her dark hair look mysterious. The texture was so smooth that the movement of the skirt would flow increasing the grace of the movements of her slender body. The gold detail just puts the entire thing over the top. She would probably need a muted blouse, perhaps a white one that showed her shoulders or a square neck one with a necklace. Pyzis moved around to the woman's tops and pulled out a few that looked promising.

"Here are some that I would wear, they are simpler. I think since the skirt is so elaborate you can get away with something like this," she said as she held up one top that showed shoulders by a cutout and another that was square neck with billowy sleeves but gathered at the wrist. "You can tuck them into your skirt or wear a belt."

Pyzis watched Justice out of the corner of her eye as he browsed the men's section. He seemed to approve of her attempt to get the two of them fed and sheltered for the night. Though Pyzis wouldn't know for sure until they got to the inn.

"Rizka? What is it you two do in performances, I never asked. If you don't want me to know then that's fine too." questioned Pyzis as she waited for her to pick a top. She imagined that both of them might have great singing voices and neither had an instrument on them. Though they could act or story tell for all she knew. Perhaps if she saw a sample she could hire them to do a show for Angela as a gift. That would be something a Goddess wouldn't get often, most would bring some tangible item. Pyzis worried that any actual thing she picked out wouldn't be of the right standard. With a sigh, she turned her thoughts back to the present. The sooner they got the shopping done the sooner they would all be well fed. One thing she was sure of was that growing a human being made her hungry all the time.

Justice nodded in agreement about them being able to offer company for Pyzis. It would have been a true shame if such a nice young woman would have had to sit alone in a strange place. He knew all too well that it certainly wasn't safe for her. The three of them together would be far less likely to attract unwanted attention. He smiled when Rizka's eyes lit up as Pyzis showed her a pair of skirts that would have been suitable for a high-caliber performing. It definitely suited her but he could see the quality of the skirt, and it concerned him a little. When she picked out the purple skirt, and pulled Pyzis towards the blouses to find something suitable to go with the skirt, he surreptitiously moved over and checked the price tags that had been pinned to the skirt. He almost balked at the price, but didn't let on and turned so that his back was to the women and pulled out his money purse. He said a silent prayer to whatever luck demon or deities that were watching out for him and his sister and then looked into the pouch. Remarkably, there was more in it than he had thought, even mixed with the couple coins of currency from elsewhere in Canelux. He heaved a sigh of relief and tucked the money safely away again, before he turned back to the girls, a renewed vigor in his step.

"I doubt you ladies need me for this. I am going to see about finding something a bit more suitable for myself," he said, indicating to his own less than respectable garb, and he turned with a bright smile and went back to the men's clothing and began going through the clothing with a will.

"Company, at the very least, we can give you," Rizka said happily. "You are so lucky, to have found love and have a place to call home," she said with a smile. She moved to follow Pyzis as she motioned to the rack of skirts. Rizka looked at them, and ran her hands over the soft fine fabrics. Pyzis held up two of the skirts that would have been most suitable, and Rizka looked at the rich jewel colors, her chocolate eyes looking at the purple skirt.
"That purple one is gorgeous," she stated as she as she took the skirt in her hands and looked it up and down. It was a long skirt, that would have easily gone down to Rizka's ankles, and was definitely one that would make for wonderful twirling and spinning around. It had a gold band of trim around the hem, and had golden ivy leaf embroidery.

"This one is perfect," she said looking up at Pyzis. She couldn't help but want to touch the skirt, it felt so soft. But she was reminded that she needed more than just a skirt and began looking for a top and shoes to go with it.

Pyzis watched the way Justice draped an arm around his sister and knew that he was protective of his younger sister. She was glad that Rizka had him to rely on. It wouldn't do to have someone as sweet as Rizka out on her own in such a large city like this. Though she had no way of telling what skills she had. Pyzis herself could wield fire and sufficiently defend herself as easily as she could heal mortal wounds. Looks were never a sure thing, nor was a shy temperament.

"How about the company instead? I've come here alone and it's the first time I've been to such a major city. The man I'm with, my….heart, he is back at Angela's Temple. This is the first time we have been apart and I find myself feeling rather lonely. I would love to have the two of you accompany me for dinner." Pyzis hesitated, trying to define her relationship with Thyme. He was certainly more than her lover, but it hadn't seemed necessary to even speak of marriage. They were just them, together in a way that was simple yet fulfilling. When she got back she would have to speak to him about it.

"I've spent the last near two years in The Goddess Angela's realm, I'm an alchemist and fell in love with her son. Now that I'm expecting a baby I knew I would need things that weren't supplied there." Pyzis explained as she gestured to her belly. She then waved a hand to dismiss her train of thought.

"I will help Rizka, if I'm correct you mentioned performances? I'd suggest a skirt then," She moved over to a rock of full, ankle length skirts. There were two skirts, emerald green and a purple one that she deemed appropriate, before holding them up to show Rizka. "I've seen ladies around town wearing both of these colors, but these two are a little brighter. I think they would both look lovely with your dark hair." Pyzis gave her an encouraging smile, waiting for her to pick. There were more muted clothes on the rack too, but if Rizka wanted to stand out as a performer then the bright colors were the best.

Justice stood from his bow and draped an arm around Rizka in the playful yet protective way he always did. She never seemed to mind it, so he didn't even think about it now. He surveyed Pyzis for a moment, trying to get a read on her. She seemed a good sort, kind, and even had a look that reminded him much of one of his other sisters. He could feel Rizka's gaze on him, hoping that he would accept.

"Well, as far as the gift goes, my memory is a little fuzzy, but I think I can help you out with finding something. If not me, then Rizka can come up with ideas if my ideas are not satisfactory," he replied. "I wouldn't think of asking you for any sort of payment, but we both would be willing to help you with your purchases," he said. "On the condition," he said raising a finger, "that you help Rizka find some proper clothes. Because I know next to nothing about women's fashions," he said with a slight laugh.

Pyzis smiled when she finally had a name to go with the kind stranger. When her brother Justice came up and introduced himself she couldn't help but beam. It wasn't often that she was greeted so formally, especially when she usually met people for the first time when they were on their death beds. There wasn't time for formalities when saving lives. Not to mention most of them weren't coherent enough to tell them their names.

"Nice to meet you Rizka and Justice, there is no need to greet me so formally. I'm Pyzis and I was just asking your sister here if you wouldn't mind helping me with my things to the inn when you are finished shopping. I would feel better if I knew you two had a warm place to stay and some clothes more fitting for this weather." she said kindly.

"Also, Rizka said you may know of a place I could find a gift for a Goddess. This is my first time in Adeluna and I'm afraid I haven't found anything fitting. She mentioned you had been here before and may remember a place that would sell something worthy of Angela." she asked as she turned to face Justice. He was a slender man, much like Rizka but with much lighter hair. His clothing had obviously seen better days and she was sure that the journey here must have been a bitter one. The climate here was not a forgiving one, to say the least.

"If you help me with my things I would be very willing to at least pay you with a hot meal. If you would let me I'd pay for your room too." Pyzis offered, hoping that Justice would accept. She knew what it was like trying to stand on your own after a tragedy. It was always difficult to let someone assist if all you had left was your pride. She didn't even know what had happened to these two, but it was obvious they had ben through hardship. It was the least she could do to ease their burden even a little.

Author: Justice, Posted: Sun Jan 29, 2017 12:52 PM, Post Subject: Just a Stop on the Road of Life [P]

Rizka was right, Justice knew exactly the clothing he wanted, but was well aware that their performances depended greatly upon how Rizka was presented. She was right too, that he knew exactly how many crescents they had to their names. He was more watching Rizka now, watching her interaction with the young pregnant woman who was not much older than his little sister was. They seemed to be getting on. He moved closer to listen in on the conversation, and was rather glad he did. Rizka was volunteering them for things again. He sighed, and moved in a bit closer. He figured it was time to meet this woman himself.

"I do hope my sister is not making arrangements on our part without consulting me," he said good naturedly as he came up. He bowed flourishingly to Pyzis. "My lady," he said regally.

Rizka brightened up when Pyzis asked her name and she smiled sweetly. "Rizka. Rizka Del'Draco," she replied. "I'm not a rider, but I am a traveler," she replied. She looked over to where Pyzis was pointing and nodded when her gaze fell upon her brother. "Yes, he is called Justice," she said with a nod. "He pretends to be browsing, but he is watching to see what I pick so that he can choose accordingly," she said with a sigh. "He knows exactly what he wants, but a lot of our performances depend a lot upon me," she explained softly.

"We could use a good meal," she admitted. "I honestly do not know how much Justice was able to scavenge," she said with a slight shrug as she help up her arms to let Pyzis get an idea of her size. "Last time we were here, it has been approximately seven years. I was only a child then. Justice might have a stronger memory and might be able to help you with such a gift. He has an eye for such things. And I know he would be more than happy to help," Rizka said eagerly.

Pyzis ran her fingers over the soft cloth on the nightgown, pondering her response to the woman. She knew it was difficult to accept assistance even if you needed it. Giving was something she was a natural at, being a healer meant you gave without asking for anything in return. Your life was to spare others sickness or pain and it wouldn't be fair to ask for compensation.

"What is your name?" she questioned as she turned back to look the newcomer in the eyes. Her expression softened and she pointed to some woman's clothing opposite of them. "There are sturdy clothes over here that won't cost you as much as the ones over there. If you are a rider or travel I'd suggest some trousers but in a smaller size. A tunic works well with either skirts or trousers so long as you have a belt."

Pyzis picked up a few items and held them up in front of the slender woman to compare sizes. It would take some time to earn her trust and perhaps shopping and then a drink would be enough to convince her to let her pay for their room. Now that she was living at Angela's temple she found herself with an abundance of silver. With no living expenses and being paid for her services as an alchemist Pyzis wasn't entirely sure what to do with her excess.

"Is that your brother?" Pyzis asked as she folded an off white tunic over her arm that looked about the right size. The man was browsing but he didn't seem much interested in the clothing. Other people around the room had finally gone back to their tasks since Pyzis was interacting with the two they thought odd. If a pregnant woman wasn't afraid of talking to them they must not be a threat.

"If you want, when we are finished here the least I could do is buy you a meal at the inn I'm staying at. Plus I might need someone to help me with all of my goods." She chatted as she gestured to the pile of children's items she had been planning to buy. The one thing she had yet to find was a thank you gift for the Goddess Angela. She wasn't even sure if there was something in this city that would express her gratitude fully. Maybe if the girl had been here before she could tell Pyzis where to buy such an item.

"You said you had been here before, if briefly? Do you know a place where I could buy something valuable? I would like to give a gift to the Goddess I serve, but I'm not even sure where to start. Adeluna is a mystery to me and I've only been to the one market and this store."

Rizka smiled gently and nodded. "First time in a long time, at least," she said with a slight shrug. "My brother and I have been traveling for a long time now. This is our first time back in the big city in almost eight years," she admitted sheepishly. "I think he would have kept us away longer if our circumstances hadn't turned dire as they have," she said brushing back a rogue strand of hair and motioning to her brother across the room. Rizka actually blushed in embarrassment, her cheeks turning pink when asked if she needed help, and she looked down at her oversized boots.

"Well… honestly… I could use it… you see, I've never had to actually SHOP for clothes before. I've always had hand-me-downs from my sisters, or clothes that they made for me themselves," she explained. "I really don't know what I need to be looking for," she admitted. "You look like you know what you are doing, could you maybe help me out a bit? I'd ask Justice, but he would just tell me to find something like what I am wearing. He's hopeless when it comes to anyone's fashion but his own."

When the offer of lodging was made, Rizka looked a mix of uncomfortable and relieved. "I wouldn't want us to impose on you, really. We'd be willing to help pay for it, or at least work our way," she replied. "We're just a little out of our element…"

Pyzis continued browsing the children's clothing, feeling a little more excited about her future baby with each passing moment. It was one thing theorizing what the child would look like and entirely different buying tangible items for them to use. When a bell tinkled a cold rush of winter air blew in two bedraggled looking individuals. A man and a woman stumbled in and instantly huddled near the fire. Pyzis couldn't help but feel sorry for them, their clothing clearly wasn't fit for the cold. If she was dressed in layers of clothing with warm gloves, a fur-lined cloak and still felt the chill, those two must be miserable. She continued to browse debating over giving them the cloak off of her back when both of them stood and began browsing. Perhaps they only wore what they did because they weren't expecting to be outside for long.

When the girl approached her Pyzis couldn't help but smile. She was looked close to the same age as Pyzis with delicate features and hair pulled back by a bandana. She spoke in a gentle sing-song voice that made Pyzis instantly want to take care of her.

"Yes, this is my first. Is this your first time here in Adeluna?" she asked. "I'm Pyzis, this is my first time here. Actually, it's my first time outside of Angela's court in over a year."  Pyzis shifted until she faced the newcomer, with a glance she noticed that the woman was worse off than she thought. The clothing she wore was obviously not hers, it hung from her slender frame and Pyzis wanted more than ever to assist.

"Can I help you in some way? Do you two need a place to stay and food to eat? I'm staying at an inn nearby and I don't think I could stand knowing you two didn't have some place warm." Pyzis offered. While the city was a place that could house dangers, the healer in her wouldn't let these two go cold tonight. She only hoped they would take her up on her offer, it wasn't often people were trusting enough to accept help.

Rizka thought about it. The last time she had been in a city as big as Adeluna, she had been a young teenager, and then she had been the youngest of seven siblings. Now, seven years later it was just her and Justice, but she was still just as starstruck now as she was then. She was amazed by the spires and the grandeur of the buildings and flags. She didn't have much chance to oggle as Justice was dragging her from street to street with renewed vigor. She did wish he would just let go, he was really starting to hurt her arm.

"Slow down, Justice! You're hurting my arm," she whined as he pulled her around. "Justice, please just stop and ask for directions!" she begged, panting to try and keep up with him. He didn't relent however, and after several near misses with falling in the oversized boots, or nearly losing one, they finally came to a halt in front of a rather splendid looking tailor's shop. She wanted to wipe the triumphant look off his face, but she had to admit, he had done a pretty good job at finding the place. He hardly needed to pull her inside, because she went willingly.

It was warm inside, comfortably warm, which made her shiver even harder at first until again, Justice was pulling her towards the crackling fireplace. For once she couldn't complain, and eagerly stretched out her cold fingers to the warm flames after she tucked the parchment rolls and sheet music into the extra space in her borrowed boot. She soaked in as much of the warmth that her fingers and hands could stand before suddenly Justice was again nudging her. She looked at him impatiently, but then realized that there were other eyes on them, and she immediately straightened up. This certainly wasn't a time that she wanted people looking at her. She hadn't had a proper bath in a couple weeks, and of course there were the clothes that were clearly too big on her.

With an uncomfortable smile, Rizka did like Justice did and began looking through the clothes that were on display. As she looked, she noticed a young woman, somewhere around her own age perhaps handling clothing that was suited for small children. Rizka couldn't help but notice that she was pregnant, and it brought a smile to her own face. She ran her hands over the clothes for a moment before she made up her mind and turned to approach the young woman.

"Um, hi," she said sweetly. "Is this your first?" she asked curiously, but softly, not wanting to alarm the woman in any way. She just wanted friendly conversation with another female, and lately that was nigh impossible to come by only traveling with Justice.

It had been some years since they had both been in Adeluna. They had spent much of their time staying off the beaten path and roaming with gypsies out in the plains of Bohar. It wasn't his ideal life, but life had been good with those roving raggle taggle bands. Now, however, it had become a necessity to come into town.

Justice moved with a bit more vigor once they hit the city streets, almost dragging Rizka with him.

"Come on, little sister!" he urged. "I managed to keep hold of a couple of gold crescents after our little incident. Maybe it will be enough to buy us some proper winter clothes," he said enthusiastically as he kept up the pace. Quite frankly, he was afraid he would freeze in place if he didn't move a little bit faster. His toes were numb with cold and the extra movement was allowing some warmth to reach his cold digits.

Justice more or less dragged Rizka through the streets, relying a rather rusty memory to get him through the streets. He knew there was a clothing shop somewhere nearby. It took a little bit of trial and error on picking streets, but before long, Justice had them standing outside the biggest clothing shop in Adeluna. He looked triumphantly at his sister and pulled her off the cold street and snow into the nice warm shop.

He took a quick look around before he noticed a rather nice fire crackling in a fireplace near the dressing area that was meant to help keep customers warm. Without much of a second thought, he pulled Rizka over to the fire and the two of them began warming beside the crackling embers.

"That's much better," he sighed before looking around at the other customers. They were casting the pair of them weird glances, and he knew that there was a good reason for that. Quite frankly, he and Rizka had to be the grubbiest, tackiest things in the shop at that moment. He straightened up and nudged Rizka who was putting her hands out towards the flames and motioned towards one of the racks. He moved away from the fireplace and began looking through the men's clothing, hoping that the red in his cheeks still looked like he was just cold, instead of embarrassed.

Pyzis pulled her fur-lined cloak tighter around her shoulders as the snow fell gently around her. Unfortunately, with all of the traffic through the city market, it mixed with the dirt, taking away the pristine beauty of it all. She had come to Adeluna in a search for a gift for the Goddess Angela. While at the time the idea sounded great, now that she browsed among the local selection she felt a little put-off. What on earth was she going to get that would be worthy of a Goddess? With a sigh, she turned to a selection of hand carved cradles. While it was still a long way off before she would become a mother, there wasn't going to be many opportunities for her to get out and buy what would be needed. The stall next to this had a fine selection of children's toys and among them was a small silver rattle. Pyzis picked it up in her gloved hand and shook it, listening to the tinkling sound it made with a smile. She bartered with the salesman and handed over a few cresents before heading off to find some place that sold clothing inside.

Pyzis made her way down a side street to a building that looked welcoming and had a sign hanging over the door with a picture of clothing on it. As she stepped in snow swirled around her feet and she took her thick winter cloak off to hang it on the coat stand just inside, revealing the gentle swell of her pregnant belly. With a shake of her long chocolate hair, she shut the door behind her and moved toward the folded clothing upon shelves. Pyzis shivered, used to the more temperate environment of Angela's Realm. This was the first time that she had left in over a year. Since she had met Thyme they hadn't been apart for more than a few hours, her heart ached with longing. At least she would finally be able to get something to thank the Goddess for her gift of the child she now bore. With all of the chaos between the deities, she hadn't had a chance to properly thank her. Pyzis browsed through the clothing, selecting some tiny nightgowns for the baby growing inside her. At least the store was much warmer than it was shopping in the snow outside she could finally feel her fingers again.

The girl was slender, and incredibly pretty, even with wearing clothing that quite obviously belonged to her brother. Her hair was pulled back out of her face by his bandanna that he enjoyed wearing while working in hot weather, and on her side was the only instrument that the had left between them, the old beat up tambourine. She clutched sheet music and a roll of parchment in one hand while trying to keep herself warm against the chill of the winter day. When he complained about the cold, she stuck him with an icy glare. It was a rare thing coming from her, for her face seemed to be far to kind to harbor any ill thought at all.

"All I know is that I said not to take that road. There was absolutely no reason that we needed to go through that pass, but nooooo, you wanted to cut time," she said grumpily. "We could be warm in our vardo with a couple of horses doing the walking right now, with all the comforts of home, right now if you had just stayed out of pass. But no, Justice knows best. Now we are without vardo, without horses, without my clothes, and the only instrument we have to our name is mother's old tambourine!" she pointed out, similar to the way that a younger sister might prod at an older brother for making a mistake. She shivered and sighed.

The young man sighed and reached out to her and wrapped an arm around her to help keep her and him warmer.
She sighed and looked at him as he held her firm under his shoulder. "I'm sorry, Justice. I'm tired, and I'm hungry, and cold," she said softly. He squeezed her. "Yeah, I know… me too."

There was a little consolation though, for they could see the walls of the city ahead of them.

It was plenty cold on the road outside of Adeluna, and snow flakes flitted down around him. He held his arms and shivered, his long blond hair pulled back in a neat ponytail. His tunic had seen better days, it certainly wasn't his nicest one, but unfortunately, it was all he had. The only thing that would have suggested that he had any money at all would have been the dagger and the rapier on his hip. He rubbed his arms for warmth and looked back at his companion who had borrowed his bandana to keep her long dark hair out of her face. His silvery eyes looked her up and down, at her almond shaped eyes, the cold raw red cheeks and nose marring her otherwise flawless skin as she wore the oversized tunic and trousers they had scavenged.

"It's cold…" he muttered. "I hate the cold."

He looked over at his companion and the sheer misery showed on his handsome face, the same cold bitten features as the girl. The glare she shot at him took him aback for a second.

"What? Don't look at me like that! It isn't like I meant for this to happen!" he said grumpily.
