"Believe me when I say it's a face I've seen a couple times," Drae told the Air Genasi with a chuckle.
"Look, I know that you were raised under an Angela that wasn't the happiest," Drae said. "And despite all her yelling and screaming to the contrary, she does care about you a lot," he said flatly. "We all have black stains we would otherwise wish to erase, but unfortunately those black stains are part of what define us in the future," he pointed out. "Not that I am sure in your significant number of years upon this good earth you haven't learned that yourself and you don't need to hear it from a young person like me," he added.
The topic turned to the matter of her reputation and how it would be ruined if it was found out she had a soft spot for family. Drae raised his right hand and crossed his heart. "She won't hear it from me. If anything I know that a solid reputation is worth its weight in gold. I haven't controlled trade in Iria this long without it."
"I have faith in her. She'll talk about it when she is ready to talk about it. I was there to see her through it, so I think there is a lot between us about that situation that doesn't really need to be said. But I'll take it under advisement," he replied a little more softly and seriously.
He gave an impressed whistle when the airship was made visible. "I think I will. Gods, it's huge. I have never seen anything near its equal. How many of those war ships can it fit?" Drae asked as he appeared beside Furtuna on the deck and began investigating the finely crafted sky vessel of monolithic proportions.
"Djinn powered, huh? That would make sense on how you stayed under the radar for so long," he said, his eyebrows raised. He hadn't done much sky travel, but he was pretty well versed in the terms of sailing in general. "How fast can she travel when you have a good wind? Does her size hinder your speed at all?"

“Doesn’t shock me that she didn’t tell you about me. We don’t have the best relationship, sorta kinda scared the shit out of her… Twice. Would have been a third time but she caught on… Should have seen her face though it was bloody brilliant. She makes this face when she’s off the ground.”
She crossed her arms. “I love my family. But the way my mother used to be… Her and I can’t ever get along until she admits she was wrong. Rosenites are stubborn creatures and we don’t admit we’re wrong and we don’t admit we’re sorry. So it will happen in the realm of never. Also, you don’t know bitchy not from her. How she is now isn’t anything like how it was back then. No offense but… You were born in the golden years of her reign… There is a black stain on history from her and no amount of forgiveness or good can erase the things she did.”
HMPH. “Doesn’t matter if she would believe it or not it is the principal of it! This is a pirate’s honor after all. Can’t have my mother finding out I’m all soft and squishy like a damn puppy.” She waggled her finger at Drae and smiled but then it went somber as she asked.
“That’s never a good thing. Her not talking about it. She’s hiding it inside. Try to get her to talk about it more, it will help her. It’s how Moliira broke through to her about Lyre after all. I know I was there. Problems between us had already started by that time though. I was on my way out when Moliira came in to argue with her about it.”
Furtuna lifted her hand and snapped her fingers. A magnificent airship made of what appeared to be abalone shell, marble, and other fine things appeared. It was absolutely huge, there were several slots where it appeared war airships came out at the bottom. “You are welcome aboard.” She vanished and appeared on the shiny deck of her airship. “This is Sacab, the Mirage.” Furtuna held out her arms. “It is Djinn powered.”

Her comment actually brought a hint of a smile to his lips. She wasn't wrong, on both counts. He was actually surprised when she quickly stated that if she had stolen from him, he would get it back promptly and that she was surprised that he had not been told about what to do to avoid such things.
"Frankly, I didn't learn about you until just recently, and I don't think anyone in Sularia really knows what I do for business aside from Angela," Drae admitted. "I keep my business affairs pretty close to the vest typically. Catherine wouldn't have known to tell me," he said simply, relaxing enough to give Furtuna a slight shrug. "I'll be honest, I know next to nothing about whatever beef you and Angela have with one another. That happened long before I was her husband, therefore it squarely lands in the zone of none of my business unless it meddles with my business," he chuckled. "All things considered, I would have thought that you would have gone and pillaged Arri. Color me rather impressed that you have a code of honor for family," he said dropping his arms to rest on his hips. The disdain and hurt in Furtuna's voice was not lost on him, and his curiosity was peaked.
Angela had always spoken of her children highly. What could have happened between her and Furtuna to cause such a rift?
"I'm perfectly aware of your mother's capabilities for being bitchy. I've been married to her long enough for that," he admitted. "Why do you think I still run business out of Iria? I have to have a place to retreat to," he chuckled. Her terms were sound and he crossed his heart.
"She won't hear it from me. I can promise you that," he said. "If you think she'll believe such a thing," he commented. When she asked the question, however, he was surprised by the note of concern, and it was clear that she did not want to admit she may have been concerned by the way she refused to face him.
"It was pretty dicey there for a while. But, I managed to secure her soul, and the Voice gave her a new body. The two weeks I spent with her going through a lifetime's worth of growth spurts…. well, I still have nightmares about flour… at first she suffered severe anxiety over what had happened. But as she actually grew up again, it faded and she was able to cope better," Drae answered. "It's been almost ten years now since then, and we've barely spoken of it."

“Easy on the names… Don’t see me calling you a Motherfucker. Which you are by the way… In the literal sense.” She gave herself a laugh. That was pretty funny but… “It wasn’t that clever, I shouldn’t have laughed at that.”
He splashed water in her face and she nimbly wiped it away. “Thank you for trying to help wake me up. I had a bit of sleep dust left over from a nap, what a good father you are. Looking after his step daughter like that.”
She rubbed her eyes a bit more as she carelessly tossed the hookah into the skiff. “Listen, Drae, Pops, Dad, Father, whatever it is you want me to call you,” her hand went on her hip. “Furtuna don’t steal from family. If I really took something from you I will give it back. I can’t believe they didn’t tell you about the mark.”
She rubbed her neck a bit and looked away. “Ain’t that bad…” Furtuna waved her hand and his shoes were dry now. “There are ships from Arri with the sigil of a soaring bird with a clover… I don’t attack or raid any ship with that sigil. It might not have crossed Cathrine’s mind to tell you about it when you married my mother. My mother doesn’t know about it because I asked Cathrine not to tell her. I would rather her think I was raiding ships from Arri instead of being soft on my family. All the trouble my mother has put me through she deserves to have fears about it for a while.”
There was hurt and disdain in her eyes when she spoke of Angela. “You weren’t there so don’t try to say she wasn’t a bitch either.” Before the man could defend his wife. “I’ll take you aboard Sacab and you can get everything that is yours. Do not tell my mother. As far as you know you came, you threatened me, and forced me to give back.” The hate that dripped from her voice was potent as she snapped out of the hangover by sheer force.
She turned back to the skiff and picked up her hookah once more. "How has she been… since you know she got blown up." She couldn't face him and show the concern she had felt for her mother.

"A hangover is the least of your problems, reprobate," Drae commented as she looked up at him with the eyes that definitely belonged to Angela. "Yeah, I'm aware of what you stole, because most of it was MY PROPERTY airscum!" he snapped at her. He didn't move as she struggled out of the skiff, sending empty bottles clattering into the recesses of the skiff. He sniffed disdainfully as the hookah fell to the water and gave Furtuna a less that amused glance.
"I'm purple because you are high as a kite," Drae replied flatly as he motioned with his hand and splashed her face with water lightly as she reached down to grab her hookah from the water that had rushed back around their ankles. Drae rolled his eyes at his own incompetence at how he had lost concentration that had been keeping the water away from his boots. He ignored it however and turned his attention back to Angela's wayward pirate air genasi daughter.
"You mean you haven't raided them yet?" he asked skeptically. "Sure would have certainly saved me a lot of silver," he muttered. Now that she was standing up straight, Drae realized she was almost eye to eye with him. She was taller than her mother, and guessed that it must have been the djinni blood. He squeezed the bridge of his nose at the blatant disrespect.
"Drae… if you have to call me anything… call me Drae," he muttered. "You leaving my city now does not restore what you stole from me directly," he said, trying very hard to maintain his temper.

Furtuna grunted a bit as she felt the skiff being magically pulled. “Oi, make less noise. I’m nursing a good hangover and I would prefer if you didn’t get yer face hole’s noise stuck in me damn head.” She moved her hand up over the hand and pushed it down. “Fucking hookah is giving me bad color vision already, damn shit is potent and you are here making face noises.”
After a few moments, a pair of ivy eyes with red ringed around the pupil looked out at him. They were Ang’s eyes alright. “The pillage on Iria ended hours ago Mate. You are a bit late to ask me to cease and desist because I’m already done. Took her for all her worth, letting my boys cool off with all the whores in Ataiyo before I choose my next destination. I left because I wanted to and not because some damn deity who porks my mother says so. Also why the hell are you purple?”
She began to shift in the boat and pull herself out of the small pond of bottles she had made. A jeweled hookah fell out of the ship and into the water. “Shit, that hookah was my favorite. It’s gonna get all ruined.” She leaned down and grabbed it before pulled at her curls. “Why is the sky orange? Why are the trees all pink?” She made a disgusted noise. “Damn, this shit is potent… Abed really knows how to brew it.” She held up the hookah and stared at it. "Remind me not to piss them off…"
Furtuna was taller than Angela by a good bit. It put her at a nice six feet. She was curvy like her mother. Waving her hat just a bit to try and get the water off the hookah she let her eyes go to Adraejen. “What?” The hat went right on her head. “I’m leaving Iria alone… Now. So Pops what brings the man of the hour to see little ol' me. It can't just be because I raided some outlands of Iria."

Drae stood on the beach of Jasumin Lake, arms folded against his chest, eyes narrowed dangerously as he watched the skiff bob up and down out on the surface of the glassy lake. So this was the captain that had been pillaging the outskirts of 'his' city. He huffed grumpily, irritated that he was being sent to deal with it. With a wave of his hand, the waves lifted the skiff up and brought it speeding towards the beach. When it became beached in the shallows, Drae dispersed the water and walked on dry land to the boat and rather roughly kicked the side of the skiff, fully intent on scaring the occupant inside.
"All right you, out. I would have a word with you," he demanded crossly, his aura flaring to indicate that he meant business. "You are to cease and desist your attacks on Iria and its surrounding provinces, by order of Adraejen Porthyrius, the Keeper of the Keys to the Secrets of Knowledge and the Arcane," he stated rather grandly.

The raid on the outer areas of Iria went perfectly and now the fabled sky pirate of Parvpora laid in a tiny skiff being pushed along the waters without any paddles. The skiff was filled to the brim with empty bottles of alcohol, mostly rum. There buried was a light blue skinned woman with white and blue curls. She had a good bust on her with a black corset and white off shoulder top under it. A large black hat reminiscent of a pirate’s hat with giant blue feathers sticking out of a white band around it was over the woman’s face.
Faintly from the woman’s covered up face came a sea shanty well known on both the seas and skies.
“There once was a lad named Roger Walker
Quite the charmer, and quite the talker,
Fair lady Linda did catch his eye,
So he took her back to the inn to pork her
Walker, talker, poooork her!
Sweet Linda’s father was of noble ranking,
And bought the guards with his gold from banking,
And Roger was this way forced to flee,
To escape a good ol’ fashioned shanking
Ranking, banking, shaaaanking!
Roger did eastward point his travel,
Working a ship ‘twas shipping gravel,
And Katya was named the bird he saw,
In the mages’ city where minds unravel….”
It was barely filled with emotion. Hell, the woman barely sounded conscious as her finger waved back and forth like a conductor to an orchestra. The drunken slurs were really started to show by this point and her voice drifted away to a pleasant hmmph.
