Not far from the coast of Komiteia lies an ancient isle once teeming with life. The grand city of Tyr rested upon this island, it’s massive spires reaching upwards towards the heavens. Long ago the city was a marvel of architecture and a hub of magical research. At the center of Tyr lay the crown jewel of the city, The University of Magical Arts, a singular tower forged of Cold Iron reaching heights previously unknown. No one is certain what actually happened in the Iron Tower, but in an instant Tyr was left void of the living. Centuries passed and no word left the Isle of Tyr. Even those that ventured to explore the isle never returned.

Little is known from observing the isle from the safe distances of ships. Many have reported seeing a sinister aura that blankets the isle, even during the daylight hours. At night where it is at its strongest, sickly green lights illuminate Tyr, which can both terrify and draw in attention of those close by like a moth to a flame. Many times, crew members would have to restrain their captains when they became allured by the isle and turn their vessels around to avoid it.

If one set foot there, there’s isn’t much of a city left. Much of the buildings lay in rubble and nothing alive is found. Any vegetation left has dried up and shrivelled; the flowers smell of death itself and wildlife is next to none as their remains are commonly hung up against walls or in ritualistic shrines spread all over Tyr. The once grand marketplace is left in shambles, with its stock of items and equipment long since stolen or became lost in town. One thing that had survived for certain is the University itself with most of it still intact; yet plenty of its collection has gone missing from its shelves.

Every so often, one can see flashes of something from the corner of their eyes like someone being there. Any noise heard in the usually dead silence can make for easy jumpscares, especially the occasional moans and what sounds like chains rattling.


Rumors have often be spoken of the evil Krampus having repopulated the barren city, though at a terrible price. The children that they abduct annually are brought into Tyr and for reasons unknown, are transformed into liches that hunger for the knowledge that has survived the ages within the University. They are bound to the isle, likely due to their souls being tied to Tyr, as is their powers. Outsiders that are found by them are said to be studied from afar. When they are at their most vulnerable, they are taken away to be deprived of any and are magical knowledge before being discarded when their usefulness is over. It is said that there are tunnels below all over through the city and they use them to get to just about everywhere in Tyr, making escape difficult and their hunting effective.

The exact methods of how they pillar their victims of their knowledge is unknown, With the various numbers of children taken by the Krampus, the exact number of liches residing there is a mystery but is said to be quite large.
