Thunder stormed on a darkened night as a woman with white hair and an interest in the darkened crucible. Across her hips was a strong belt with knives and potions attached. She was fully prepared to face whatever horrors lie in store for the sake of knowledge. When she heard about this vampire and her work, she was incredibly impressed. Few were so daring as to piss off both the lich king and angels. It was why it was so important to explore and learn the woman's tricks before Revaliir tore her down. Caroline didn't view this woman as a monster, rather she viewed the vampire with respect. A person who was willing to risk everything and everyone for her work. That was something Caroline could empathize with. But ultimately the vampire was foolish if she expected the world to sit by while it was under threat. Believing that everybody would work for progress, that would be the alchemist's undoing.

Caroline stepped down into the depths of the catacombs. The glowing crystals drew her in, despite the sickening effect it had on her stomach. Pushing those unnecessary feelings aside, she took notes on the glowing crystal. Her inspection of these mysterious objects were detailed and she didn't dare leave a thing out. From the corner of her eye she could see a skeleton shambling closer and closer. She quickly finished her inspection then reached towards the whip attached to her belt. The whip cracked the air and struck the skeleton with pain and hellfire. The skeleton screeched out as Caroline stomped down on its head, the heels of her boots crushing its skull.

"It's almost noon." She said to herself while checking her pocket watch, "At this rate it will be midnight before I learn anything useful."

Caroline pushed onwards as she explored the depths of the catacombs. She came across several undead and spotted more crystals but the rest of it was sorely disappointing. She was able to assume that the intricate work was further in the crucible and this area was only the basics of the vampire's work. As she walked, she heard the sound of someone else wandering the catacombs. Whether they were human or monster, she didn't want them to interfere with her work. She prepared her whip and watched as the person approached. They weren't an undead, at the very least.

"Hello." Caroline greeted with a great disinterest, still holding her whip tightly.

What we learn can unlock the true potential of this universe.
