Cha'Kwe'Tza stood at a rough stone wall that came to his waist. The ruined stonework was all that remained of the burned out human village aside from the odd scrap of charred timber here and there. Approximately a dozen houses had probably made up the village when it was still being lived in, but the couple caved in foundations marking old cellars that lost the battle against time made figuring out the exact number difficult. Off in the distance, Cha'Kwe'Tza looked out over the rolling hills that spread as far as he could see. Here and there the odd scraggly tree stood, but the few he could mark all looked weak enough to be up-rooted with one hand and a sharp tug. To his left, about one hundred feet away there was a lake that the villagers had most likely used as a fishing and recreational swimming hole. Having jumped in a few hours earlier, Cha'Kwe'Tza failed to spot any fish that he considered eating, but then he never gave a thorough search. He was a little pressed for time though, which made his swim a short one.

Hours before being able to enjoy the cool waters of the lake for a few precious minutes, Cha'Kwe'Tza had been just ahead of a band of the native Orcs. He had apparently done them a great dishonour by venturing into their lands, as they had promptly pursued for quite some time. That pursuit had ended just outside the ruins of the village he was now standing in, and quite violently so. Only a pair had survived the encounter, and they had needed to double up on one of the great wolves that they rode to escape the carnage. Looking down at the pile of bodies that lay at his feet, of which not all of them were still in one piece, Cha'Kwe'Tza thought for a moment. Turning, he slowly walked away. Sooner or later the pile would have to be burned. Digging a hole for burial was too much effort for the likes of them.

Stepping up beside his strange companion, Cha'Kwe'Tza stood there for a few quiet moments. He eventually looked to the other one standing there and spoke, "I still think it counts extra." He was of talking about having speared two attackers with one thrust earlier. Cha'Kwe'Tza was of the mindset that something like that should count for extra since it was harder to pull off than stabbing a single target with a thrust, regardless of the fact that it had happened accidentally. He didn't really know at what time during the fight it had started, but a count on who could kill the most had picked up at some point. Somewhere ahead of them, the howling of the giant wolves rose on the slight breeze. "They attack again. Soon. You think also?" Cha'Kwe'Tza was actually looking forward to the ensuing fight. It had been a long time since he'd been in a decent battle.
