Azul had lived in Egjora for most of her life and was far too aware of how unfair the way of life was for the people. how the rich could live in the city and it feeling like paradise while less fortunate would suffer a hard life of work and misery. they were even forced to smile against there will. It broke her heart to see her city people suffer so much, thats why she always smiled. she would give the city people who worked the hardest her genuine grin while the people who lounged around and rolled in their mountains of money were given a smile, but not her happy smile seemed to lighten up people, it was her fake that made people uneasy and not sure what to say.
Azul genuine smile welcomed people to say what they wished and it comforted them also when they were down and nothing could bring them up. Azul was a genuinely happy and it was nearly impossible to bring her down. she was of course in the working class and lived a rather simple life.
Azul headed down to the docks where the fisher came in with their new load of fish. she enjoyed watching the fish that were still barely alive jumping around it made her giggle a bit at them. as a child she always thought they were doing some sort of dance, maybe a customary fish death dance before they were turned into fish pie. she waved and smiled at the fisher men who walked past dragging the fish that were in their nets, the men nodded and smiled back and some tipped their hats a bit as sign of respect. after the fishermen and left she walked down to the end of the dock, she stopped just before she could fall off the end. the tip of her shoes were over the edge. this was her favourite time of the day (except for lunch), the sun was producing gold rays that shone across the glossy waters of the sea. she smiled to herself thinking of the wonderful adventures she'll have once she left this foul city.
she hated the fake smiles the people had. they infuriated her, people smiled to show they were happy or make other people happy. she hated it so much. she hated the rules of the city and wished to leave to see true and genuine smiles not the fake ones that consumed the city. soon she would be free and to smile and actually mean something.
Azul began to rub her foot up and down the wooden port. she enjoyed the sliminess under her feet. she may have enjoyed it but it didn't it was safe as she felt her right foot slip and she could feel herself falling into the deep blue sea.
