A simple looking cloth bag in hand, the wild eyed fiery haired halfling crawled through the undergrowth. His copper hair was receding further back, but was still thick and unkempt, his beard was long plaited and tucked into his belt. Lines creased his forehead, and cracks had formed around his deep green eyes. He picked a few dull brown mushrooms and stashed them in the bag before climbing out of the ditch he’d found them in.

A raven cawed loudly through the red leafed forest, the bird raced towards the man covered in undergrowth. As he heard his friend call out the warning, Jago felt it too. The wind changed and carried on it the smell of trouble. The raven landed on a low hanging branch beside the halfling, chirping wildly.

“Sure they’re slavers?” The halfling was no longer covered in mud, his hair was now covered by a wide brimmed tall pointed scarlet hat. The old clothes were gone, instead the wizard was clothed in a cloak covered in a moving image of the starry sky. The simple sack had gone, replaced by a redwood staff. The Red Wizard turned to thin air with a wiggle of his nose.

A moment later an extreme gust of wind threw a slaver against a tree, knocking him out cold. Jago appeared in front of another, his staff half swung. It hit his knee to the sickening sound of bone cracking. At the pain filled shrieks of his companion the last slaver threw his axe at the wizard. Jago melted into air and the axe silenced the shrieks. The last slaver turned to run but was met with a loud smash of lightning. His body hissed as it hit the forest floor.

The raven cawed out enthusiastically as it landed on the shoulder of the Red Wizard. With the slaves freed and set on a safe path – it was time to go home and eat. The Red Wizard ducked through the bushes and the raven cawed out in alarm again.
