Through the canopies of the towering trees, faint rays of sunlight peered through into the forest, as if teasing it's inhabitants with small glimmers of vain hopes. Ha Neul found herself in pursuit this hope, daring to climb the towering oaks of the forest, every moment filled with the high possibly of a simple misstep in a broken-boned and dislocated demise. After almost an hour of climbing, she had finally reached her destination, her glimmer of hope. Both feet sternly planted on a strong branch, her hands and head worked to fight past the mighty and thick barrage of leaves and smaller branches. Her eyes suddenly burned for a moment, as a sudden explosion of light beamed upon her reared head, from her created opening through the canopies. After a few moments, her eyes finally adjusted to the light, and she found herself looking upon a vast beauty of colored leaves. However, her purpose was was far from admiring the leaves. Keeping her goal in mind, she examined in each direction, finally spotting her purpose. Off in the distance, she faintly saw the peeks of mountain tops. A feeling of both great relief and also disappointment came upon her; Relief for finally having some sort of guidance to follow in this seemingly hopeless maze like forest, yet disappointment of the distance required to make her leave of this accused place. Her purpose filled, and her muscles sore, she ducked back into the thick canopies of the forest. On her back down, suddenly, she caught the faint sound of something swiftly screeching through the air. She instinctively jerked her head to the side in response, and immediately after felt something upon her cheek; something odd, something wet. Moving a finger to her cheek, and wiping it, she gazed at wet fluid her finger had wiped. "Blood?" Shifting her eyes just a little further, she realized what had just happened. There, next to her face, was lodged the culprit of the cut on her cheek, and arrowhead lodged in the tree; albeit, poorly crafted. An arrow head, that would have been instead been lodged into her head, if he had not move instinctively jerked her head to the side in order to dodge it. But 'who'? Why? Who would..?
From a distance below, she heard the echoes of voices. But these were not the usual voices of the land she had grown accustomed to commonly hearing. They were the voices of a strange foreign language, which she could not understand at all. Shifting her view below, the source of both the arrow head, and the foreign voiced echoes became clear. There, quite a long distance below, stood 5 tribal clothed males, covered with loincloth, tatoos, and varies piercings. They were also equipt with varies weapons, two of which were holding bows, one of those bows being disarmed of the arrow which had grazed across Ha Neul's cheek, the other bow currently in the aiming process. "Cannibals.." She mumbled, another sigh of great disappointment from her lips. She'd been well informed through rumors concerning such figures like these, supposedly scattered across the Viren forest. Rumor also had it, that some had an ability to shapeshift into animals. Whether that was also true of not, Ha Neul's did not have much enthusiasm in witnessing. Reaching for her waist, as she instinctively searched for a form of self defense, she realized yet another great disappointment; the weapon she was looking for was not there. She looked back downward, and behold, a ways away from the wild group of savages, she spotted her target in mind; her bag. She now remembered that she had placed her heavier equipment, including her weapons, within the bag, so that she could climb the towering trees more effectively. Seeing as nothing had bothered her for days, she had figured nothing would continue do for the remainder of her abode in this forest. However, fate proved to be too cruel today, as if it had the intention of playing a deadly joke on her. All the worst possible scenarios available seemed to have suddenly presented itself in this moment. At this point, she jested in her mind that she might as well have jumped down face flat to the ground from the tree, to a brutal suicide anyways, since the end result seemed as if it would've been the same anyways at this rate, albiet much more swiftly and with a lot less hassle. In the midst of her thoughts, the second arrow eventually presented itself. Ha Neul jumped to another branch, almost slipping downward to that jested death in the process, as the arrow plunged itself into her previous location of the tree, lodged closely next to the first one. She looked for a form of self defense; anything. Breaking off a strong branch, she quickly lunged it at one of the savages. He released a brief and loud scream of pain, as the branch piece struck hit him on top of his head, causing bleeding, yet nothing too serious to hinder him from his task. Although, she was sure it did manage to piss him off. At the command of another foreign voice, the the two bows began to arm themselves again. "Wonderful day in the forest today.." She mumbled sarcastically, preparing for another chimpanzee like dodge to another branch.
