They say, “Where the rich red grows, mythic legends begin.” Virens is a vast forest: both beautiful and dangerous. Large, red oaks shoot up into the skies as if nothing is there to stop them, and most of their members are over a century old. The ground below is rich in color, and, for the most part, dark. Sunlight filters through the canopy, where it can; but, truly, darkness is what rules over most of Virens Forest.

Sound gets trapped in these woods, causing the cries of animals within to echo endlessly. Trying to find the source has gotten many adventurers lost within the depths of the undergrowth. After all, the deeper you get into Virens, the harder it is to get out. The forest becomes like a maze, and it is the largest of its kind on the continent of Canelux. If one were to pick up the jewel of the south, Adeluna City, and drop it into the void of trees, Virens Forest would swallow it up without a trace. 

Creatures also linger in the dark depths of the forest. Beware, and carry your bow steady as you get ready to aim true. Unknown settlements remain within the borders of Virens. Their true natures lost to time, no one knows if they are animalistic or not.
