A young elf woman was riding upon a dark brown horse. Her ebony black hair was tied back in a ponytail and she had leather armor on. On her belt was her sheathed sword and on her back was her backpack that held most of her materials. She had one hand on her reigns while the other hand was holding a map. Jadira was supposed to be heading towards Laeta in order to finish one of her tasks of her quest.

Before this, Jadira had visited four other countries. Adeluna, Apoy Island, Ataiyo, and the Bohar Plains. One more country and her first task would be finished. She had also already finished her fourth task by helping a child get back to his parents after the insect war was over. The parents claimed they would never forget this kind act so Jadira assumed that would count as an unforgettable kind deed. She'd been working on her seventh task by visiting one library per country.

The other tasks were not completed yet. But in order to complete them, Jadira needed to find out where she was. Her map was old and had a few stains on it. She'd been trying to just follow the river but she had lost it somehow. She put her map away and continued riding forwards. Eventually she would have to run into some sort of land mark.

Her horse had been doing well over the journey so far. Jadira had given him a couple of breaks so that he wouldn't feel worn out. Right now he was active and ready to run faster but that was probably because it was only morning and they had just had a long rest last night. Eventually, they approached a half-torn village that seemed to be in down spirits. Jadira got down from her horse and approached one of the villagers. The villager was a young man who had dark bags under his eyes.

"Do you know where I could get a map, sir?" Jadira asked.

Apparently she had asked the wrong question since as soon as she finished, the man looked very upset.

"A MAP?! You're asking us for a map right now?!" The man shouted with stress.

"Yes." Jadira responded.

"How about you ask us that when we don't have to worry about a giant boar returning to destroy our village?!" The man said.

"When will that be?" Jadira asked utterly oblivious of his sarcasm.

"…..probably never. But tell you what. If you can bring back the head of the giant boar we will give you your blasted map." The villager sighed.

"I'd prefer it to not be blasted. It usually works better in one piece."

"Just get going."

Jadira shrugged her shoulders then remounted her horse. She rode around the village until she could find the tracks of this giant boar that apparently was the reason why this village was ripped into shreds. She talked to some of the villagers for a few more clues. Apparently the boar had come from the Viren forest and was attacking nearby tribes and villages in the plains. Despite all the soldiers and fighters who had tried with many different weapons, none of them were able to pierce through the boar's thick hyde. Some of the villagers were kind enough to give her some food and potions for her journey.

Jadira thanked them for the information and the gifts. Then she rode off into the plains to track down this boar. As she tracked down the boar, she thought about possible ways to take this creature down. The tracks weren't too hard to spot since the feet of the boar were much larger than almost any other creature's feet in the plains. She also wondered if there were going to be any other hunters who would try to take down the boar. She rode through the plains with the wind in her hair and determination in her eyes.

The one ton beast raised his nose to the air and inhaled deeply, taking in the scents from air and snorted when he caught what he wanted in his nose; bacon, and a lot of it. He had been stalking this boar for a few hours now, taking his time doing it right, instead of using his powers to make it easy. No, this was a true hunt for the huge grey bear, taking on the boar in this way was a good way to stretch his muscles and keep up on his hunting abilities.

Lokir snorted as he stalked through the trees, heading towards where the scent from the boar was strongest. He had heard rumours of this monstrosity a day ago and had decided that he would hunt it himself, if no one else was going to. It was becoming a threat to anyone travelling in its chosen territory, remove threat, gain some respect from the local tribe he held alliances with and feed those at his Fort for a fortnight! It was all around a great win once he tracked and brought it down.

Tracking it wasn't proving too hard though, since the big piggy left huge tracks, even larger than Lokir's bear form ones, which were impressive on their own. This things must have been huge then! Not to mention is was also shoving aside large trees as it walked through the forest towards the more open plains. Oh yes, Lokir was looking forward to this for sure. He had shoved down his Divine powers for this, he was still immortal yes, that he could not help, not that he wanted to. But this hunt he wanted to be just him, no Divine powers.

Basse would probably have wanted to come along to help but she was out on business from her mother's side of things so she wasn't around. The boar needed to be dealt with sooner rather than later so Lokir had decided to head out before his girlfriend came back.

A grunt and snort in the distance made Lokir stop in his tracks for a moment and listen, it was close. Stalking forward slower now the Bear God peeked from the edge of the forest and spotted the beast in a large clearing grazing on the grass, it was massive! Lokir guessed that it was easily twice his size, and it wasn't like Lokir was a small bear either. The boar had dark red fur and large tusks sticking from its mouth, they'd made good trophies to hang on a wall somewhere in the Fort's headquarters. Or maybe he could them made into something like to give to Basse as a pressent.

Taking in the air again Lokir was downwind of it so unless the wind suddenly changed the boar had no idea there was a bear eyeing it up from the tree line. But Lokir didn't step out right away, no, he scented a horse in the air now as well, a rider perhaps coming close. Did they know of the boar threat? Did they know about it and were hunting it? Lokir stayed put for now, but he was ready to charge out in an instant if necessary.

As they went one there were more trees and the line between the forest and the plains was clear. Jadira stopped her horse and checked the tracks. They were getting close now but she still couldn’t see the boar. However, she did know about hunting boars from her time at Adeluna when they would go out and hunt the animal as a training tactic. Boars in general had a certain radius of what they were able to smell. This was a larger boar therefore the radius would be larger too. She hopped off of her horse and let it graze. They were far enough that if the boar did rampage then the horse would have enough time to run. This particular horse was very well trained and would come as long as she had a particular call. She did not worry about letting it run off for now. Jadira licked her finger and put it up in the air to get a better sense of where the wind was coming from. Downwind was towards the tree line and it didn’t seem like that would change very much. So she headed to the tree line and traveled low to the ground. Eventually she managed to get close enough to see the boar properly. Jadira cast a spell of Hunter’s Instinct so that she would be able to hear and smell better than before. She also casted a spell of Greater Agility on herself. If the boar went on a rampage then she would be able move quickly. Jadira could smell somebody else was around too. She looked in the distance and could see a bear.

That bear looked familiar somehow. She couldn’t quite remember who. Jadira couldn’t put a name to his face. Then the memory struck her. He was that guy who led the battalion during the war. The bear that she shoved a health potion at. Jadira was careful but was able to make a small wave. She was fast and in a position where the boar was not facing her at the moment. Hopefully he caught that. The boar was huge. It also looked very tough. From what she could remember, none of the villager’s weapons could pierce through its hide. They all had decent weaponry so it was obvious that it wasn’t the weapon’s fault. Perhaps this boar had some sort of magical protection that stopped all sharp objects. Or maybe the hyde was that thick. Whatever the reason, it needed to be taken down. That animal had been causing trouble for not only the tribes but for anybody who was traveling around and minding their own business.

Also she was kind of hoping to be able to hold onto the hyde and investigate what made it so tough. Of course that was assuming that she would be able to find a way to get it off of the animal. For now it seemed that the boar was only grazing. Jadira could try to move around and whittle away at its defences until it lay dead. Or she could work with that bear man to find a way to overpower the creature. If they did that then they could split the rewards. Maybe she could get the hyde and he could have the tusks along with the meat. Surely a bear would be able to eat more of the meat than she ever could. Just as she was coming up with a plan in mind, the boar turned to the forest and was facing the general direction that Lokir was in. If the boar went into the forest then it would be so much more difficult to hunt it down. Not only would she have to look out for falling trees but then seeing where the boar was going and all of its movements would be much harder.

And having the boar run over that bear guy would be spotted by the boar. Then it would probably charge at him and trample the guy over. Jadira had forgotten about the whole immortality thing, especially since during the war he didn’t seem to be that immortal and was one of the tough warriors that got injured. For her, he was just a random bear guy that had a position in his army. He was still vulnerable. Besides it seemed that the boar was going to end up charging anyway. It would be better to get it charging out in the open where they would be able to attack it from all sides rather than just one side.

She ran quickly and as subtle as she could to the field area. Then she lowered herself to the ground and got her bow and arrow ready. She intended to get a good hit in and draw it away from the forest. She had Greater Agility already on so that would be able to help when the boar would charge. Hopefully the bear guy would get the hint and attack the thing from behind once it had gotten further out into the open. She raised her bow and arrow. Jadira was aiming it at the ear since it would be a tender spot to hit. She let the arrow go and it zipped through the air. Unfortunately she missed the ear. What was fortunate was the fact that she hit his right eyeball instead. This surprised her since she was only decent with the bow and because she was not aiming at the eye. The boar let out a loud piercing squeal then spun around to where the arrow had come from. It could obviously see her now so she stood up and got ready for it.

The giant boar was charging at her at a fast pace. Jadira was able to get it away from the forest. With her heightened agility and speed she was able to dodge out of the boar’s way. One of the tusks had barely hit her and she could see the power and strength that they held. One hit by one of the tusks would kill her. There was no doubt about that. She needed to find a way to kill it without getting hit. The boar was strong and had fast legs, but it was also very big too. Which meant that stopping itself and turning around was a slower process than what it would be for somebody else. Jadira took this chance and switched out her weapons with something slightly more practical. She had a tough spear in hand was prepared to dodge until she could hit it again. Jadira was also hoping that the bear guy would take the hint and maybe help out a little. She also planned to stay on the right side of its face since it had a blind spot there thanks to the eye damage.

Lokir caught the wave from the elf woman who he did recognize from the war she had been the one to, bravely, shove a potion in his mouth while he was in the same bear form. Good, it was a good thing to know that he would have someone here who knew how to handle herself to help hunt the boar. Not that Lokir thought he needed the help, but it wasn't about to argue the point, more so since he was still suppressing his powers for now, aside from the immortality, he wasn't that stupid. To her wave Lokir only nodded his larger head slowly, his eyes never leaving the boar however in case it winded him.

Lokir was getting his own plan in place when the boar turned in his direction, but the wind hadn't shifted so it hadn't winded him, it was just turning around. Lokir slunk back into the trees a little more to stay hidden and watched, he could charge it head on, or he could wait and hope it turned its back to him again. Or, as he watched the elf woman started to move, he could wait to see what she was planning.

He watched her bring up a bow and arrow, which was puzzling, since unless she had magic arrows he didn't they would do anymore than piss the boar off. Unless she was one hell of a good archer. The boar started to squeal in pain as the arrow sank into its eyes and Lokir blinked, ok, she was a good archer then! Damn! The boar swung around to face where the arrows had come and charged and the moment its back was turned Lokir exploded out of the forest as well. He had some ground to cover before he got there so he had to hope that the elf was okay on her own for a moment.

As he was charging forward he saw that the boar had just missed the elf and sensed that she had used some magic on herself to make herself faster. The boar had a time slowly its momentum enough that it could dig in with its hooves and turn around to make another charge at the offending elf woman. However as it did turn it around instead of see her it only had a moment to see a huge bear charging it down. The boar squealed as Lokir came near and the bear God attacked.

But instead of trying to jump on its back right away Lokir instead threw his bulk at the boar's front leg. The speed that Lokir had built up, running as fast as a bear his size could, which was pretty damn fast, impacting against the boar's leg had some affect indeed. A cracking noise could be hear from bones shattering and the boar squealed again and thrashed, but Lokir hadn't stopped moving right after driving his shoulder into the boar he had started to back scramble back away from it.

Now he had the boar's full attention as it turned on him and Lokir let a massive roar and used a little of his divine powers when he did. It would, if she accepted the feeling, add strength to Jadira, granting her strength to match even the physically strongest elf out there, such was Lokir's power. The boar squealed and charged again, limping yes but that didn't stop how fast it was. Lokir snarled and charged as well, the boar went to gore the bear with its tusks but Lokir managed to get around them and rake the boar's face. He had wanted the other eyes, but missed when the boar shifted suddenly, instead raking his claws across its face and snout, opening up its nostrils some.

It again had to take extra steps to stop its movement so it could turn and charge again, but Lokir was able to stop sooner and turn. He charged forward, not waiting for the boar to turn around.

Just when she thought that she would have to keep dodging, the bear man finally charged from the forest. So they both were after the same creature after all! She made a little dodge to make sure that she wasn't in the way of the boar. But now the boar's attention was fully taken up by that bear man. A good name for the stranger was bear man. Since she didn't actually get his name when they had battled together. For this moment, he would be known as Bear Man.

He was very surprising. During the war he did have impressive strength, but he did falter against the giant ants. It seemed like he was having an easier time with the boar. Perhaps Bear Man did some push ups after the war? He was able to crack the leg of the boar and to scratch its nose. Where before he could barely hold his own against a giant ant or a beetle. Mysteries aside, there was some work to be done. The boar's attention was soaked up entirely by the bear. It was not paying any attention to anybody else.

A plan formed in Jadira's mind as she looked for weaknesses. The head was the only place that had any sort of weakness. Technically the back had one weakness. But it was a place where she'd rather not end up near. She put her spear in her mouth. Jadira sprinted towards the boar and lept up into the air. She was approaching from it's blind side so it could not see her as well. It had just received that scratch from the bear. Landing on the boar, she clutched to it's fur tightly. It's fur was just as tough as the hyde. She moved quickly since she only had a few seconds. Her aim was off, as always. She intended to land on it's back, not it's neck. But this was closer to the head than the back.

Jadira crawled up to it's head and took her spear out of her mouth, she jabbed it right in the ear. Finally Jadira had managed to hit the spot she was after! The boar swung it's head trying to get her off. Her grip was not enough and she was sent flying. Her spear remained stuck in the boar's ear. The elf hit the ground with the thud. Her mouth stayed shut. She refused to let out a yell or say anything. Pain swelled through her body as she attempted to reach her satchel. A health potion was waiting to be used inside. If only she could reach it. Hopefully Bear Man wouldn't mind covering for her until she could get some of her health back. It was painful to move.

Through her pain, Jadira managed to push herself up with her left arm. She pulled the bag closer and opened it up as quickly as she could. A medium sized bottle was inside with slight cracks on the glass. Jadira pulled off the cork of the bottle and dumped the contents of the health potion into her mouth. Injuries like bruises and scratches remained. This potion healed the more serious bruises and scratches along with her twisted ankle. Without the potion, Jadira would not have been able to stand. Even now she still couldn't stand yet. The injuries still felt painful.

Shoving herself to her feet, she tossed the empty bottle aside. Her spear was gone. However Jadira had other weapons. A bow would have been the best weapon to use since it allowed distance. But Jadira knew that her first shot was luck. Trying again with that bow could end terribly. Besides, she might accidently hit Bear Man. The spear was still in the boar's ear. There was little chance of getting that back.

Only one weapon remained. Jadira had a sheathed sword attached to her belt. Ataiyan Katanas were not really designed to fight boars. She didn't have much of a choice seeing that a dagger would be a worse weapon of choice. Magic spells were an option but she only had so much mana left. Jadira needed to hold onto that magic until it was necessary to use. Despite everything, was ready to fight the boar some more.

[OOC: I keep forgetting she doesn't know who he is lol]

The boar squealed in pain when the spear was jabbed into its ear by the elf on its back, who was then tossed off. Lokir wanted to go and check on her but the boar's attention needed to be on him, not her, and she was moving which was a good sign. Having no time to check on the elf Lokir kept his charge going and went for the throat.

Lokir lunged at the last moment and got himself high enough in the air with momentum to latch into the boar's neck with his claws on all four legs. His fangs he sunk into the boar as well trying to find an artery to puncture, but the hide on this thing was tough as steel! Lokir was starting to wonder if he didn't actually need to bring his diving strength back into play again for this thing. He'd wait for now, if things got bad, or if the elf woman became too endangered Lokir would bring everything had to the fight and end it quickly at that point.

The boar thrashed but Lokir held tight driving his fangs in as deep as he could and his claws fought for purchase as well. It gave a hard kicked around and Lokir lost grip with his back legs and now was scrambling to get them gripped again. The boar squealed and swung its head back trying to get to the bear with its tusks, forcing Lokir's release and roll away from it.

Getting to his feet as quickly as he could the bear roared in challenge again and charged forward once more. Thinking for a moment Lokir snarled and slammed one huge paw into the ground and from nowhere stepped a full grown black bear at its largest size for that kind of bear. Lokir's familiar roared as it took off and headed to one side making the boar swing around to follow it, but couldn't, with one blind eye, also keep an eye on Lokir.

The big grey bear snarled and started to stalk around in sync with his familiar on the other side of the bear. The black bear could be brought down but it would only end its current psychical body and after a time Lokir would be able to summon him again. But Lokir didn't want to rely on that right now. No, teeth and claws were all he wanted to use at the moment beyond summoning now.

The two bears waited for their opening.

[OOC: XD I think once she knows, she's still going to call him Bear Man]

Trying to come up with a plan, Jadira observed the situation. There were two bears now. Somehow. But it seemed that they were waiting for an opening. The hide was too difficult for even Bear Man to get through. Which would make their job harder. Where did this thing come from? Normal boars were not this big nor this tough. She thought about how it must have been created and why. Maybe a magical spell went wrong and made it larger? That was likely, although it would be impossible to know for sure. Obviously none of the gods had made the creature. Otherwise they would be here taking care of it or at least looking for it. Her mind searched for an answer. I

f it was a demon then it would be performing a duty or a purpose. Demons weren’t always smart but they usually had a purpose for what they did. Like if they wanted a murder a whole town, the town would be murdered. But this boar destroyed only half of villages through random rampages then went through fields to eat. If a demon made it then it would be controlled for a specific purpose.

It acted like a normal boar. So, maybe it once was. And if whatever made the boar stronger and larger was proportional, then wouldn’t the tusks be incredibly sharp? If the tusks were sharp enough, maybe they would be able to cut through the hide? After all if the hide was enhanced this much then surely the tusks would also be enhanced as well? All of this passed through her mind in a matter of seconds.

“Hey!” She shouted to the Bear Man and his…bear partner? “Maybe the tusks can break through the hide?!”

Now whether or not they would be able to use the tusks as a weapon against the boar, would be a different matter. The tusks on the boar were massive, even for a creature of its size. Since the nose, ears, and everything else but the hide was proven to be breakable, there was a chance that the tusks could be broken too. Jadira didn’t really have much left to fight with. A simple sword that she would have to get close to use, or a dagger she could throw. But throwing daggers was not a specialty of hers. The elf would definitely miss if she tried to throw the dagger.

She had been lucky with the arrows but her luck was running out. There weren’t much places to stab the creature that they hadn’t already tried. Except for one place, but if she tried there, she would not want her sword back. Jadira tried to find another way to fight the boar, but she wished she could just crack off the tusks and try killing the boar that way. But she did not have the strength to do so.

“Damn.” She muttered under her breath.

Sometimes she wished she had enough strength to just throw her enemies instead of having to fight with strategy.

So far things weren't working out as Lokir had envisioned it before the fight had started. This boar was magically enhanced, somehow, and that was causing problems. Without his Divine powers Lokir was somewhat limited in his ability to fight against magic, and this boar, while not throwing spells around, was still an issue. If it had only been him here he would let the fight last a bit longer and wear the boar down, with the elf woman here he didn't want to take a chance that she'd be hurt while he messed around.

To that end Lokir decided that play time was over and it was time to just end this fight here and now. He heard what the elf woman yelled at him and nodded with a huff, but his mind was elsewhere at the moment. From his bear form Lokir shifted back to his human form again, he wore no armour just plain clothing and heavy boots, not even a weapon.

Once he was back in human form he reached into himself and unlocked where he was keeping his divine powers and they came back to him like a rush. Now Lokir was radiating power from himself, an unguarded aura from a God stood out pretty well, it was clear he was done toying around now. Together with his bear Lokir let out a challenging roar and picked up a stone and hurled at the boar. It struck and the boar spun and charged in its rage.

It charged him with full fury and Lokir's bear familiar stepped out of the way even while Lokir just grinned as he waited. He glanced to the elf and winked as the boar came close. When it did Lokir moved with impressive speed to one side of the boar and as he did Lokir grabbed hold of the one tusk and planted his feet. ”Time, to, end, this!” Lokir snarled as hauled on the tusk, he wasn't trying to break it, no. The boar came to an instant stop after Lokir grabbed it and all that happened to Lokir was that his feet dug into the ground a little more.

Lokir twisted hard on the tusk and forced the beast on its side with casual flick of his wrist. The boar was squealing and thrashing but none of its movements budged Lokir from his place. At the right moment Lokir drove his left elbow down onto the tusk and shattered it such that he could take hold of the broken pointy part. The boar squealed again as Lokir backed up as it stood up. ”Someone's going to be having a lot of bacon very soon.” Lokir chuckled as the boar tried to gore him with the other tusk.

Lokir jumped back and then jumped forward and up with a snarl. He pulled back with the tusk in one hand and on the way drove the tusk into the top of boar's skull. The strength of the tusk combined with the sheer force that Lokir applied as he swung it forward meant that the tusk drove deep into the boar's skull. It roared and squealed as Lokir jumped away from it and landed closer to the elf woman as the boar thrashed for a few moments before it finally settled in death.

Lokir had a grin on his face as he looked to Jadira. ”I'm Lokir, by the way, a pleasure to meet you, again, I believe.” He chuckled. ”I never did get a chance to thank you for that potion that day, so, thank you.” Would she knew his name, and, by extension, his title?
