The seltrusk barrels towards Pick and swipes at him, tearing his leather armor and drawing blood.

Adrenaline kept Pick standing. He gave one final thrust with his rapier and the blood soaked seltrusk fell dead.

Pick kicked the snout again, "dumb beast. We just…wanted…a place to rest" he panted. He crossed to where he had left his dagger in the seltrusk's side. He looked up, and saw more seltrusks bounding towards them. He looked down at the dagger that seemed to have gotten lodged in the beast's hairy carcass. He looked back up at the nearing monsters.

"Man, I loved this knife." He abandoned the dagger and helped Tea. The two entered the woods as the other seltrusks begin canabalising the dead one.

The initial bite wasn't bad, his hide boots were thick, but the second and third chomp is what broke through and drew blood. Luckily the seltrusk didn't tear away on his heel, so he could run with less pain.

As they ran, Tea cast a fireball at it to make sure it stays down. This time it hurt the beast, even some flames still held on it's fur, "Damn monster!" Tea shouted with anger.

The two kept running as the seltrusk rolled around the grass to put out the fire. Tea had a limp as he ran, so Pick slowed down for him, they were close to the woods now. In the distance, dark figures like the seltrusk jumped in the distance, nearing the two.

Pick didn't have time to reload, he took his rapier and charged the wounded Seltrusk, and stuck it just above the snout, and then with a swift stomp, sent the bolt further into its nose. When the rapier lands it blow the Seltrusk clamps down on Teas foot and begins to roll, but stops when the bolt is driven further into its weak point.

"We're almost there." He says the Tea, "hang in there."

Pick helps Tea up and the two begin running again.

(Accidentally tapped on the submit button…)

"Nice shot!" Tea said excited, but other howls can be heard in the distance. Tea's stomach sunked, he turn to Pick, "That's not good."

The seltrusk hears the howling, he brought itself together and began running faster, it didnt want to share it's food, it caught up to Tea and bit his heel.

Tea feel immediately down, than was dragged by the beast. Tea tried to hold to something, but the grass wasn't helping. He rotated himself to spray fire, but the seltrusk ignored it and bite harder. Tea shouted in pain.

Tea was shocked by Pick's aim, not an easy shot

Author: Arcane Trickster, Posted: Tue Feb 21, 2017 12:27 AM, Post Subject: Traversing the Plain

Pick readied his crossbow as he ran, "something tells me it isn't going to play with us anymore." With his new found snout information he leveled his crossbow at the Seltrusk and pulled the trigger.

The bolt whizzed through the air and halfway buried itself into the monster's sensitive nose. It writhed on the ground grasping at its snout and howling in pain.

Pick continued to run while giving obscene gestures to the Seltrusk.

"That's how you slow down a Seltrusk" he said laughing.

Author: The_Pasty, Posted: Tue Feb 21, 2017 12:02 AM, Post Subject: Traversing the Plain

"Keep running!" Tea shouted, though Pick thought this to be quite obvious he looked to Tea who began slowly down.

"What the hell are doing?!", Pick yield looking confused, but Tea didn't answer, he was focusing. Tea jumped into the air, twisting himself around with his leg sweeping fire out toward the ground in front of the Seltrusk.

The beast yelped in pain, the fire burned it's snout, Tea landed and kept running, "That should give some time, their snouts are sensitive." They both turn around, they can see it thrashing about holding it's nose.

Tea took the time looking around, he saw giant red trees in the distance. It was Virens forest, he didn't know anything about it, just the name. But anything was better than this, "Follow me!" Tea yelled.

Pick continued to look behind him, the creature stopped thrashing, it slowly got up on it's fours. It didn't laugh, I didn't smile, it's eyes glared at them. You could almost feel death following it as it jumped over the fire.

Pick pulled out his second dagger and attempted to drive it into his prey, or what he arrogantly thought was his prey. Still disoriented from the Seltrusk's first charge he missed his mark.

He looked to Tea, "Yeah, time to go." He lets go of the first dagger and stumbles towards Tea as fast as he can.

"This wasn't a good idea." He said, finally regaining his composure, "not like a tiger at all."

The two ran out of the ruin as fast as they could, but the monster was fast on their heels. It nipped at their ankles as it ran; it enjoyed playing with its food.

When Tea saw Pick on it's side he was glad to see he was fine, but the beast tried to reach around with it mouth, but couldn't reach. "Pick get off it quickly!" Tea shouted, though it's walked like a canine, it can briefly stand to reach with it's arms, or worse begin thrashing.

Lucking for Pick it tried to stand, Tea notice the arm it wanted to uses to grab Pick. He quickly try to grab it with a fiery tendral came from his hand, this move isn't meant for people, unless for striking not grabbing. The Seltrusk pulled back, almost make Tea fall over, but held up.

The beast became still stood, but was about to use it other hand to grab Pick, the dagger hurt more than the fire. "Hurry Pick!" Tea struggled to say.

Author: Arcane Trickster, Posted: Mon Feb 20, 2017 11:03 PM, Post Subject: Traversing the Plain

Pick struggled to stand up and breath at the same time.

The Seltrusk batted at Tea as if playing with a toy.

"Shit that hurt" he murmured. He shook his head and grabbed his daggers. "Alright Pick" he thought to himself, ferocious prey deserves a ferocious predator. This is just like hunting tigers back home"

Pick, mustering all of his balance, righted himself and charged the Seltrusk and sunk one of his daggers into its back. He clung to the beast, unsure what to do next.

Author: The_Pasty, Posted: Mon Feb 20, 2017 10:47 PM, Post Subject: Traversing the Plain

Tea immediately turned around after Pick said something, "What, what is it?" Tea asked quietly. Pick wouldn't respond, he was focused on something around the corner of the corridor. "Pick what is it?" right after Tea ask this, the beast made itself known to Tea by tackling Pick.

It's fur almost as black as the night, eyes yellow, and it's posture is that of a canine. It's eyes flicked up, and snorted as if it was laughing. Tea was horrified, he knew what it was, it was a Seltrusk. Tea knew that if he just continued to stare, Pick would be it's meal for the night. Tea shot a bolt of fire, but it was ineffective, it's fur was thick, it's laughing stop as it turn to Tea. It seemed to almost smile at Tea, it began to cackle as it approached him.

Tea wanted to run, two men were not enough to beat this thing, but needed time some to recover from being slammed into the wall. Tea took his stance and held his ground, "Please get up Pick." Tea said under his breath.

Author: Arcane Trickster, Posted: Mon Feb 20, 2017 9:06 PM, Post Subject: Traversing the Plain

The sky darkened. "I'll take your word on that." Pick said scanning the hills for a place to spend the night. He found it hard to believe a place that seemed so peaceful could be dangerous. He spotted a ruin close enough to walk to before to it got too late.

"I mean, if anything works we could go to that one" he pointed.

The two agreed that shelter is priority and made their way to what seems to have been a large building.

Inside the structure they found rubble and debris. Pick was instantly interested in this place, and began searching for any artifacts that might have been left.

"Think any of this stuff is valuable?" he asked as he picked up what seems to be a dulled and shattered mirror, "probably not right?" He tossed the mirror aside and continued searching. He moved on to a different room and froze in his tracks.

"Tea…" he said quietly. The ears of the beast he had found twitched, "Tea, we have a situation."

It laid on the ground sprawled out as if it was asleep. It's pointed hyena ears continued to twitch, its piglike snout snored slightly as its large shoulders heaved with every breath. The beast's fur covered torso was built like a bear, its arms were the arms of giant furry man with hands that end in dagger like claws, and its legs resembled that of a wolf.

The beast stirred and began to stretch. It was waking. A chord of panic resonanted within Pick as the beasts eyes opened. It blinked its catlike eyes, and yawned displaying its crocodile teeth. Then, the two made eye contact. The room filled with a pregnant pause. Pick's hand slowly moves towards his rapier, and as he does the creature's eyes follow the movement. The instant his hand touched metal the monster sprung forward with its head pointed downward. Pick could not draw his blade in time and was knocked back into the wall as the charging thing crashed into him.

Tea was surprised he mentioned he was an orphan as well, Tea wanted to asked how he felt about it, but thought maybe another time. While there was a pause, Tea decided take a look at the sun, then how far the mountains are. Tea wasn't happy with their progress, he notice their pace was slower than he liked, the talking was distracting him.

A slightly worrisome face grew on Tea, he looked around for any pictographs, this season the Boharan nomads don't hunt near here, but have scouts to check on their symbols. Nothing he could see, this was good and bad, no symbols means no angry nomads, but the symbols offer protection for the night. Strange things lurk in the night of these plains, so he looked for any abandon ruins to hide in.

Tea became more and more stress the fewer options he had, and it showed. Tea stopped as soon as he notice Pick looking at him strangely. "Uhhh, yeah, we need to find somewhere to hide for the night, sleeping in the open plains at night isn't good."

Author: Arcane Trickster, Posted: Mon Feb 20, 2017 3:35 AM, Post Subject: Traversing the Plain

Pick scratches the back of his head momentarily.

"Well, I say nomads. That's what we called ourselves, but we were bandits." He paused before realizing he had more to explain, "we weren't evil or anything, but you try living in Sarchu Valley. You almost have to live off of merchants and nomad tribes. It's as if the land itself is trying to kill you what with the toxic fumes, duststorms, And the putrid water. It's a place I'm glad to put behind me."

Pick stops for second remembering his family. "I'm an orphan too" he said matter of factly, "the people who took me were local catfolk. Anyway,  it was my job to steal from traveling merchants along the trade route. I was supposed to stay useful, and I did exactly that." He said proudly, puffing out his chest.

Pick's grin widened, "I'd take you there one day, but I assure you it isn't a place I would recommend."

Tea's eyes brighten, we always loved to tell this story, it always made him feel special, "That is quite the story, when I was a baby, a lone monk found me outside the temple. I was laying near a tea plant, when saw me holding a tea leaf Jiemu, he decided to name me temporally Tea as a sort of joke. After weeks of waiting for my parents to possibly come, it got a point they decided to stop waiting. The temples monks became my family, Jiemu is more or less like my grandfather, until I was old enough he became my master. It was rare for him to take students, I don't think I was special, I think he almost saw me as a blood relative."

Tea became a little more quiet, though he thinks he accepted the idea of never knowing his true family, it always comes up in his head to want to know. He shook his head, "Uh, what about you, what was life like living with the nomads up north?"

Pick was indeed listening, but retention was never his forte. Although, he still didn't understand why someone would call the invisible force around a person and the invisible force inside a person two different things, so he quickly went to change the subject as they had been walking for a little more than an hour now, and he had only managed to get bored, "Yeah I understand for the most part" he said with a grin, "but what brought you to that monastery in the first place? You said they were family?"

Author: The_Pasty, Posted: Mon Feb 20, 2017 12:16 AM, Post Subject: Traversing the Plain

"Pick, for the last time, it's chi, not ki, and it's not magic, it's source is different. Where magic comes from an invisible power around us, chi comes from an invisible power within us. That is as basic as I can describe it." Tea explained, becoming slightly annoyed Pick, "But if 'body magic' works for, then yeah sure."

After awhile Tea wanted give a little more knowledge, "Chi takes greater discipline and understanding than magic, magic is like using a bucket to get water, but you are always in the ocean. Chi is more of a bridge from your spirit to all of the world. With chi you can increase your strength breifly, control the elements, there could be more to than that too."

Tea sigh at what to say next, "Because magic is much easier, and doesn't really require discipline, chi became abandoned, but we learn to use it cause we believe we become better connected to the gods. By understanding the material world, we understand why the gods made the way things are." Tea was very passionate when talking about this, it's really all he knows. He turn to look if Pick was listening still.

The two ventured out into the Plains of Bohar. Talking about power of Ki.

"So" Pick continued a line of thought, "Let me get his straight Ki is like, body magic?"

He was having a rough time understanding, but was glad to listen to his explaination.

Both Jiemu and Tea looked at Pick, but he didn't turn around, so Jiemu spoke first a swiftly, "You better go, that one might get himself hurt." Jiemu snickered.
"Thank you, master." Tea responded, he turn toward Quan, still unconscious. A few monks and an irritated master came to his aid.

"And Tea." Jiemu beckoned, "You might learn something from the elf." Tea looked confused, "I don't know if he has anything good to teach." Jiemu cackled, "Just keep an open mind, the world is now your master after all."

Tea swiftly caught up to Pick, "So you want to know how I did that?" Tea said, with his ego growing a little.

Author: Arcane Trickster, Posted: Sun Feb 19, 2017 9:22 PM, Post Subject: Traversing the Plain

Pick clapped longer than what is socially acceptable, stood, and accidentally elbowed another monk square in the face.

"Oh damn, I'm sorry" he said helping the monk up. He then crossed to Tea. "That was fun! I didn't know you could shoot fire!" He excitedly grabs Tea's fist and begins inspecting it, "how did you do that?" He continued inspecting the arm unaware he was interrupting anything.

Jiemu approaches the two. "Tea" he said sternly placing a hand on Tea's shoulder, "you have proven yourself to me, and now you may leave with my blessing."

"Great!" said Pick, "well, we'll be seeing you all later then!"
He turned to leave.

Author: The_Pasty, Posted: Sun Feb 19, 2017 8:46 PM, Post Subject: Traversing the Plain

Tea looked at Quan, then at Pick, "I know so." He said with a smile, hoping the facade still works.

Everyone return to their place, Quan and Tea return to their position and the same stance. They glared at the each other waiting for Jiemu to make the call.

"Begin!" Jiemu shouted, and Tea made the first move by shooting a fireball out of his right arm. Quan saw this coming and raised one his arms to make tile to block it, this breifly block his vision from Tea, but long enough for Tea to close some distance. Not enough distance though, Quan rose another by stomping to trip Tea, it was successful. Tea almost hit the ground, but quickly recovered by placing his palm on the tiled floor and using a fireball to shot him into the air about ten feet. He soon realize this was a mistake, three tiles flew toward him different directions. One hit his arm, another his stomach, the last almost hit his face, but was able to dodge it in time. The tiles were made for this kind of combat, brittle enough to shatter without cause permanent damage to the body.

Tea did his best to ignore the pain, as he was falling Tea summoned another fireball toward Quan. Quan decided to roll out of the way, giving himself so distance from Tea landing spot. As soon as Tea landed Quan finished his dodge, they stood staring at each other waiting for the next move.

Yet again Tea started, this time making a sweeping kick to create a small wave of fire. Quan made a wall of tiles by putting his Firearms together to stop this, falling for the same mistake, but this time Tea created fire from his feet to give a boost for a jump. This time it work, as soon as the wall fell, Tea was to close for Quan to make another move. Tea wanted to save another fireball after tiring Quan out from close combat.

The two locked in combat, Quan took a defensive approach, while used quick blows, some came though, but most didn't. This time though Quan was focused, he knew he was out classes in closed quarters, as much as he doesn't want to admit it. Tea finally got a punch in Quan's face, Quan flinched, so Tea took the opportunity to make a sweep for his leg, knocking him off balance. But before Tea could make a final blow, Quan used a tile to place his hand on, and used the swept leg to hit Tea in the face.

Lucky for Tea it grazed him, Quan was still sloppy. But took a step back, trying to recover some stamina, but Quan had different plans, "Bye." Quan said with a smile. He stomped the ground fiercely, making a pillar below Tea, this pushed him into the air. Tea thought fast and jumped off, but he knew what was next. Tiles were flying towards him.

Tea decide to extend his foot toward Quan, the raise his arms above him and shot a stream of fire above him. The boost in speed helped him dodge all the tiles, Quan made a final effort by holding his ground and swing his arm, causing a tile from a distance to fly at Tea. The tile hit him in the face, dust covered his, but the fire kept going. This shocked Quan and didn't moved because of it, the kick connected to Quan's face, knocking him unconscious. As Tea landed he stumbled and was rolling, he stopped on his hands and knees in front of Jiemu.

"The world has tuaght yoy well so far, young half-elf." Tea kept looking to the ground. Jiemu looked up, the crowd is quiet waiting for Jiemu to speak, "The winner is Tea!" The crowd celebrated with shouting in response, Tea though, was shocked, he couldn't believe it, "I did it." he said.

Author: Arcane Trickster, Posted: Sun Feb 19, 2017 7:26 PM, Post Subject: Traversing the Plain

"Family huh?" He said thoughtfully. He looked around at the crowd, at Jiemu, and at Quan.

"Well if he isn't family" he said pointing to Quan, "why bother? You don't owe him a fight."

He looked again to Jiemu "give him someone else to fight." Pick scans the monks on the wall and points to one that he feels looks like they are weaker than Tea, "Why not that guy?" He says pointing. Jiemu, still standing, motioned to the many angry monks in the room. They stood and began moving towards Pick.

Noticing this, Pick made eye contact with Jiemu. "Alright, this is your party."

He then leaned over to Tea, "you sure you've got this?"

Author: The_Pasty, Posted: Sun Feb 19, 2017 4:25 PM, Post Subject: Traversing the Plain

Tea was shocked by the turn of events, but brought himself when Pick grabbed his arm, Tea began to speak, "Pick, this is my home, these people are my family."  "Not me." Quan said casually, Tea responded, "Your input isn't need, Quan."

Tea continued, "I must do this, this isn't your fault it's mine, I already had my warning yesterday. And beside…" Tea lowered his voice, "I have a feeling I can beat this dirt for brains." Tea said this, but didn't really believe this, he only hopes Pick will understand.

Author: Arcane Trickster, Posted: Sun Feb 19, 2017 4:10 PM, Post Subject: Traversing the Plain

Just before Jiemu could give his signal Pick stood up indignantly.

"I don't understand. He's done nothing wrong. Is it because he came back to help me? That hardly seems fair."

Jiemu looked to Pick, "This does not concern you young elf. Please respect our traditions."

Pick crossed to be beside Tea, "You know I don't quite understand traditions. You do a thing only because other people also did the thing? For years?" He looked to Quantou, "what do you think thick jaw?"

Quantou, shocked, looked at the master.

Jiemu stood with impossible speed; a visible rage building in his eyes. Calmly he said, "We have welcomed you into our monastery. One would think you would show respect, and-"

"Whose we?" Interrupted Pick, "Tea helped me. You just gave him the okay to do what he was going to do anyway." He put his arm around Tea, "you don't need this. Let's go."

Author: The_Pasty, Posted: Sun Feb 19, 2017 1:15 PM, Post Subject: Traversing the Plain

But before they could leave, they entered the open area that leads to the main gate, which held all the monks; master and student, sitting with legs crossed on each sides of the walls. Master Jiemu was standing in front of the gate, he stared at Tea and said, "You have neglected your teacher twice, Tea." Tea was quiet, and fear was building in him. The Master continued, "By our traditions you must earn the respect of your master, thus you must show what you have learned so far, by winning a duel. We have a volunteer." Tea knew where this was going, "Quantou, please go to the center of the arena!" Neither Jiemu or Tea liked this, but traditions must be followed.

Jiemu looked at Tea, nod his head letting Tea go as well. "Pick, you may leave if want, or you can stay and watch, it is up to you." Jiemu said. Tea made it to the center, he was scared, Quantou was a student, and good one at that. Quantou was much more gifted in chi than Tea, but in the same comparison, Quantou lacked in martial arts. "Now due to Tea's limited use of the elements, both students must only use one element, now state your element!" Jiemu commanded. "Earth!" Quantou said first with confidence, Quantou must had heard that Tea only knew fire, for earth is strongest against it. "Fire." stated Tea, very worrisome, Quantou did not like Tea, he felt Tea has it too easy in the temple, from a baby to now.

They both stared at each other, one with delightful vengeance, the other fearful and reluctant. "Ready to lose, shrub boy?" Quantou ask happily mocking him, "Not in your life Quan." Tea responded. Jiemu continued, "Now, reach ten tiles behind you, take your stance, and wait for my call." The two student began walking, each tile was small, eight inches each side. Each step, tension build, once they made it, they both turned around and took their stance.

Tea's was low, left leg extended toward Quan, the other, with him bend down. his right hand was open and at neck height with the arm bend and leveled to the ground, his left arm is extended like the leg, with the hand open. This was a basic fire stance meant to train the mind and spirit, suggested to him in his scrolls. Quan stance was slightly highers than Tea's, both legs open and bend, both arms up at shoulder level and bend at a ninety degree angle, one with the forearm and hand pointing down and the other pointing up. This was a more advance stance for earth, meant to be harder to predict. They both awaited Jiemu's signal.

Pick thanked Tea for his assistance, and let him know that he would gladly travel with him through the mountains. Once Tea was gone Pick disrobed and entered the tub. The warm water was a nice change of pace. He let his messy hair down and began washing it.

He hoped he could make it to the city without anymore bumps in the road. He's had quite enough. Pick felt sleep tugging at his eyelids as he cleaned himself. He fought it as best as he could, but eventually succumbed to the call of the sandman. His eyes shut and he fell into a trance like state.

He awoke the next morning soggy and covered in wrinkles. It was unlike elves to rest this long. He must have been more tired than he had originally thought. His armor and a new set of clothes were folded up neatly and placed in the corner by the door. Pick hoisted his dripping body out of the tub and shook a bit, sending water everywhere. The aspiring thief eventually found a towel and began drying off. Once dry, Pick donned his clean clothes and armor.

He met Tea again and ate his breakfast quickly because he was ready for the next leg of his adventure to the City of Adeluna. The two then left towards the mountains. Pick walked with a new spring in his step.

Author: The_Pasty, Posted: Sun Feb 19, 2017 1:11 AM, Post Subject: Traversing the Plain

Tea was taken back how honest he was about being a thief, and being the best at that. "Well I guess going to the city would be a good place to start." Tea said slowly, uneasy by Pick's feasting. Tea saw his mostly leather gear set aside, "I'll wash and dry those, leather can gain bad odor if not clean regularly." Tea stood up and took the armor. Tea trusted Jiemu's judgement, even if he didn't trust Pick.

Shortly after he return, "I see your done eating, I have brought a set of robes for you after you bathe, just leave your dirty clothes aside, I'll take them later to clean." Tea was glad Pick didn't run off anywhere.

While Tea guided Pick to the bathing area, Tea ask, "I am heading that direction tomorrow, if you want I could assist you through the mountains, staying in the plains at night could be dangerous, taking those mountains the fastest route."

Author: Arcane Trickster, Posted: Sun Feb 19, 2017 12:40 AM, Post Subject: Traversing the Plain

RPick had hardly realized Tea had spoken, but was able to stop eating long enough to respond.

"I'm headed to the city of Adeluna. I'm from Sarchu Valley."

He begins eating messily again. Already feeling rejuvenated.

"I was raised by nomads." He said with a full mouth, "they taught me to steal."

Pick burped.

"I'm going to be the world's best thief."

He wiped his mouth on his sleeve.

Tea return with a plate of cooked meat, bread, and a clay cup of water. "Hear you go." Tea handed the plate to Pick and set the cup on top of a table at the bed end.

"If you were wondering, Master Jiemu read your chi, he could feel your emotions and intentions through touch, he didn't tell you to leave, so you're good." After a few moments Tea still sat on a chair waiting for Pick to finish his meal. Tea grew board and asked, "So what were you doing out there like that?"

Author: Arcane Trickster, Posted: Sat Feb 18, 2017 6:57 PM, Post Subject: Traversing the Plain

Pick stared at his hand where the staff had been. He looks to Tea.

"Not gonna lie, I have no idea what just happened." Said Pick.

He looks to Tea, "And water" he said as he took of his soaked leather boots. "I don't drink milk."

While he waited on Tea's return he did his best to get comfortable. He doffed his armor and began removing twigs from his crossbow.

"Strange place" he said to himself, "though, I'm sure there's stranger"

Author: The_Pasty, Posted: Sat Feb 18, 2017 5:02 PM, Post Subject: Traversing the Plain

"Hmm, well Tea, this one means well, please get him some food and water. After he has eaten show him to a bath and bring him to bed." Master Jiemu said after handing Tea's staff and letting go of Pick's hand.

Pick could feel wind passing through his hand where the staff once was, even though they're indoors. As the Master walked away and before he walked out the door He said, "I expect everyrhing to be where it is when you leave, Pick." His tone was stern.

Tea was still uneasy, "He must be mad at me, I shouldn't have come back. Maybe he told me to help Pick as a way of apologizing." He thought to himself. Tea turn to Pick, "Well I'll be back, I am sure we have meats from our hunters, do you want milk or water?"

Author: Arcane Trickster, Posted: Sat Feb 18, 2017 4:23 PM, Post Subject: Traversing the Plain

Suspicious, Pick reluctantly offered the old monk his free hand while the other loosely held on to Tea's staff.

"What is this? Some kind of palm reading? We did that where I come from." he asked a bit too nonchalant. Master Jiemu didn't respond one way or another to the elf's words, and simply took his hand.

Pick felt uneasy, and wanted nothing more than to eat, sleep, and leave. He couldn't figure out why, but he felt uneasy around Jiemu.

"Maybe because he's holding my hand" thought Pick.

There was nothing he could do, but hope whatever  this monk meant to do would end soon.

Tea cleared his throat hearing this, slightly offended, "Um no, that is an option only you are willing to make." Tea notice Pick still holding his staff as he laid him near a bed.

"I'd like-", but before Tea could finish his sentence, Master Jiemu entered the room, "Ah, Tea I see you're back already, it hasn't been a day yet." Tea was a little nervous, "I-I am sorry, this elf needed help." Jiemu approached as Tea spoke, "Do not worry, there was a shift in the wind, I'd knew you would come." The Master said with a chuckle.

"Now let me see your hand, young elf."

Pick only paid half attention to the half-elf, as he focused on keeping his heavy eyes open. The setting sun reminded him of his family, and for the first time since he began his journey, he missed them.

As they entered the monastery Pick instinctively scanned the place for valuables, things that could go missing easily, etc., but quickly shook the thoughts out of his mind.

"Not now." He thought to himself, "that would be rude."

The thief kept quiet as he was led through the silent, dimly lit, halls of the monastery. Tea was still talking. He didn't know what he was talking about anymore so he just sort of nodded in agreement.

"You guys aren't gonna make me train like you or anything right?" He says looking at a group of training monks. "Because that looks REAL boring."

As they approach the monastery, Tea explain it was a ruin, "These are the descendants of the monks who opposed The Godslayer, the very few mortals that did." He continued a brief history of temple, saying the monks feared the war was, nearing the end, was a lost cause. They ran to these ruins and discovered in the ancient text a power called chi. It was believed to be a gift from the gods, allowing to do great feats. The art was lost do to magic being a much more effective power. But the monks decided to learn to used chi, they beleive it was the last connection to the gods, for they thought at this point all of them to be dead.

The sunset drew close, but they both were close enough to the gate, safety was guaranteed. Tea gave a sigh of relief, "You were lucky, the local nomads around here are easy to offend, and it wouldn't be wise to do that, on purpose or not."

Pick propped himself up on Tea's staff. "Thank you kindly" he said winded. "I don't think I need healing." He added, "Just rest and food please." Pick turned his eyes to the monastery. "This building is impressive. Looks very old"

Followed  Tea's lead. He was a tad bit disappointed in himself needing so much help this early on in his travels, but he still attempted to put on a guise of competence.

Besides, he knew what travel was like now, and could better prepare in future. Pick thought maybe he could take advantage of the situation and try to pickpocket the man, but decided that the thievery should probably wait until he reached Adeluna.

"Oh my, yeah I can take you to the temple, my name is Tea." He said taking one of Picks arms and wrapping around his shoulders.

"Here, borrow my staff, you could use an extra leg." Tea hands his staff to the tires elf. They begin walk, "Unfortunately our traveling healer left yesterday, but we have other methods to heal, it'll just take more time."

Tea was glad to help, but was nervous to return so shortly after leaving, Master Jiemu not to come back until he learned the rest of the elements, it was part of tradition.

Pick looked up somewhat surprised. Absolutely covered in grime, his hair a tattered mess.

"Hi, can i rest here? You guys have food?" Pick asked breathing slightly heavy, "its been a long day."

He looked out at the ruin peppered plains again and sunk down to the ground "everything is so much bigger than I thought it was. I didn't pack enough food."

He stands back up, "My name is Pick by the way." He said with a wary smile.

From a short distance to the same monastery, a half-elf is restarting his journey through the world, he was freshly healed by a traveling healer at the temple, given new robes, and full of enthusiasm. A bo staff rested on his shoulders with both his arms wrapped around each side. His was lost in thought until his green eyes caught a glisp of a short figure ahead.

Curiousness got the better of him, so he began paseing to the figure, "Hello there! Are you alright?!" The young half-elf shouted.

A weary wood elf emerged from the Laeto Rainforest. He was completely covered with dirt, sweat, and water. His tired eyes rested on the swaying grasses of the Plains of Bohar. In the distance he looked towards the sprawling mountain city of Adeluna. A monastery stood silent within walking distance.

"I'll get there eventually" he said to himself, "but first. I need to rest"

With a deep sigh, he began forward yet again.
