A roar echoed through the skies and strong wings pushed against the breeze. The dragon that flew over the virens forest. Large light purple eyes looked across the blue sky at the clouds that came at her. Swooping under a white cloud and through another, the dragon smiled within. A soft growl left the dragons lips as it flew higher into the sky, her neck stretched out and wings worked hard trying to reach the height she wanted. “This is amazing.” The dragon thought as she finally dropped from the sky, the blue scaled wings tucked in. The land under her was coming up quickly. Rolling hills of grass stretched out for miles.

Before the dragon reached the ground, she opened her wings. The force of the wind slowing her down. With a flew flaps, the dragon landed on a grass hill. Right after the dragon landed, a soft light shone over the scales, and where once stood a dragon, a woman now stood. Light pink long hair flew behind her as she ran across the grass. “Whooo! That was so amazing.” Kiyomi gasped as she came to a stop. Her light purple eyes stared up at the sky above her, where she once flew.

With her arms outstretched she fell back onto the grassy hill. A smile lined the girl’s lips. Her eyes watched the clouds move slowly, the memory of her flying through them came to her mind. It had been a long time since she was able to stretch her wings and fly. Kiyomi had came accustomed to always being in human form just with wings. Now, she wanted to fly in the sky any time she got.

Sitting up, she sighed; should she go home or travel more. Looking towards the forests trees towards the south east then to the ancient ruins towards the north of the plains; she nodded as she made decision. Standing from her place, she fixed the bow and pack of arrows on her back, straighten her white long skirt and her white button down vest with gold accents. Light green beads hung along the button of her shirt over her exposed stomach. It was a new outfit for her, different from the full gowns she used to wear.

With a nod, the half dragon girl started to walk north along the plains, occasionally moving out of the way of trading wagon. Her new destination, the ruins to the north.

It was a beautiful bright and sunny day, the first hintings of terra betraying the gripping bite of the glaciem as the sweeping yellowed grasses began to turn the pale green of new beginnings. It had been a relatively productive winter in the south for the pair that walked along the trade route, their path leading north. While it had not been productive enough to provide them with the mode of transportation that they were used to, at least their clothes were travel worthy, and they had what they needed to make the trek. It would surely take them weeks longer on foot to reach Arri than it would have with the comforts of a horse and vardo, but they were grateful as they were to be able to make the trek at all.

Rizka looked to the sky and let the cool breeze catch her long dark hair, wondering briefly what it would be like to be able to sail on the breezes. A great beast had just flown across the sky, and it had left her in awe. Such creatures were not rare, so to speak, but they were uncommon to be seen in the sky nonetheless.

"I wonder what it would be like to fly," Rizka commented out loud to her brother, who was walking a few paces behind her.

The dragon in the sky had put Justice on mild alert. It wasn't commonly spoken of, dragons attacking the trade routes. Most in this area preferred to keep to the mountains or to the thick forests, but there was the occasional raid… maybe two a year was as many as he had heard of in all the times they had traveled this road. It reassured him a little bit, but the dragon landing in the hills to the north of them did not. He didn't speak of his concern to Rizka, because despite his vigilance, he was not seeing any signs of trouble that usually accompanied a dragon attack, such as a fire or panicked animals traveling their way to find safety. None of the caravans they had passed appeared to be alarmed either, which he saw as a cause to relax a bit more.

"I couldn't tell you, Riz," Justice chuckled. "You know me, I have a basic fear of high places," he reminded her as they walked, and he lengthened his stride to catch up with her.

"You don't have a fear of high places," Rizka chided him with a slight elbow to his ribs. "You have a fear of falling."

"Which is a very justified fear," he pointed out, pretending to run his sister off the road as revenge for elbowing him. As he did so she paused and picked up a smooth rainbow-colored gemstone from off the ground. With a grin she showed off the Ammolite to him before she tucked it into her pocket. It would probably fetch them a nice bit of coin once they reached Arri, or if perhaps they ran into one of the other trading caravans on the way.

"Nice. Better keep it safe. Something like that would be good pickings for thieves," he cautioned her. She gave him a reproachful look, suggesting she knew exactly how to keep something like that a secret and how to keep it safe.

"You think I jest, but it isn't just thieves that have me concerned. Dragons and wyrms would add that sort of stone to their horde in a heartbeat," he said, pointing with his finger for emphasis.

"You worry too much, brother. A dragon isn't going to attack us. We aren't big enough targets. You know as well as I do that IF a dragon was to attack, it would go after one of the really BIG caravans that comes south from Arri," Rizka pointed out.

She had a point of course, and Justice could not help but concede this point, and brushed his gold colored hair out of his eyes.
"Even so… I don't think I want to run into one."

As Kiyomi made her way, she hummed a soft tune. Her mother always loved it when she hummed or sang, it was almost like an angel’s voice she would say. With a smile, she looked up towards the sky. Life was finally becoming good. Her mother and her had been through so much lately, finally there was a pause in their life to breath. The dragon skipped over a puddle of water and hurried out of a way of a wagon. “Sorry!” She called up and continued walking the trail.

She had heard of the ruins north of the plains and wanted to see what they looked like. Ruined castle, maybe? She wasn’t sure and wanted to find out. For once, she was able to venture out on her own, her mother was too preoccupied to notice her leaving. She was almost an adult now, and would finally be able to leave without saying a word or asking for permission. Her mother had kept a tight leash on her since she was a child. Kiyomi understood though, they had been through much together and Katerina just wanted to keep her daughter safe.

As she walked along a trail, she saw a few people coming from the opposite way, she moved the side so she didn’t bump into them.  She let out a giggle hearing one tell her brother a dragon wouldn’t attack them. The brought replied he wouldn't want to run into one. “ Well! Now you have!” She smiled at the two of them then gave a curtsy. “Hello, there. I am Kiyomi, a dragon, don’t worry though promise not to attack you. Besides I don’t like the taste of human.” She joked, even though she have never tasted a human before.

The two before her were young, maybe her age? She hopped they were. She needed friends, she hadn’t had anyone besides her mother and her animal family. She knew far out, Alexander was watching her, a large tiger, larger than any tiger she had met. He always looked out for her when she didn’t want to him to.
