Backtalk was all the woman had to give him. Especially for the thanks of eliminating one of the poachers for her. She had the gall to tell him he should apologize to her when her wolves had surrounded him. Anything he had said to her, she deserved. Zek was almost peeved when she looked away from him, but he realized what situation he had gotten himself into. His vision greyed out when the beast of a woman tucked her legs in for a kick. He appeared, crouched, on top of the cage she was in and watched the frozen cage door hit the man in the chest.Zek was not sure if the woman intended to attack him or the person formerly behind him. For a time, he kept his position on the cage and watch the events unfold in front of him. All doors of the cages were pulled off by her spell. She warned him about her next move, but he ignored her without a second thought. Her humanly figure discontorted into a giant wolf. The next few action packed minutes revealed how savage she was. It was exciting to see the raw brutality of the woman, and it was hard for him to keep his composure. He his ankles were giddy, bouncing up and down without ever leaving the ground in his crouched position."One question, before you threaten me after seeing what I did to that poor sap over there." Zek replied to her threat. "How far of a fall do you think you can survive?" He couldn't believe after his small showing that she would threaten him. Maybe it was too quick for her to see or comprehend, but in less than a second that man was already dead, it took her significantly longer to finish of one man. Though her show of brutality was impressive. "I will admit, you are ferocious wild woman. If I was an ordinary man, I would be afraid of you." Zek replied, "I don't think you understand the simplicity of how I fight. I vanish, I reappear next to you. I touch you. We disappear. Reappear high in the sky, and then I disappear while you spend the last moments of your life watching the ground come increasingly closer to you before you crash into the ground." Zek's attention switched from her to the oncoming men, but it wasn't the men that were a part of the poachers gang that took his attention. An man dropped from the trees and in a minutes took five men out of the ten that came after the wolf lady. Zek disappeared from on top of the cage. "Such beauty, such skill that man has. Far prettier than your act." Zek whispered by the woman's ear as he appeared next to her. He was gone by the last word of his sentence and appeared halfway between her and the group of men who had stopped moving. "Watch this." Zek held up his left hand with all fingers outstretched. In the other hand a greyish-white orb appeared. "Five seconds." He said as the orb took the shape of a cutlass. "Five." He disappeared and reappeared behind one of the men with his cutlass ran through his chest. His thumb folded into his palm. "Four" He disappeared again and this time he reappeared in front of one with the blade through the man's skull. His pinky folded in, "Three." and he appeared to the side of the next one with his sword through his neck. His ring finger folded in before he disappeared. He reappeared by the next man, his cutlass stuck in one side of the man's rib and sticking out of the other side. "Two, and…" He said before he disappeared again."One" Zek grunted behind the last man, his cutlass was gone and a snowflake decorated battleaxe in his hands. One fell swoop the man's head cracked open like a coconut and his legs gave out. Blood poured and sprayed out of the five men, especially the last. Each time Zek had teleported he had reappeared with his cutlass already inside the individual. He was showing off what he could do; to prove to the woman that he was not someone she could brush off."Listen. I don't really like all this killing." Zek straightened up from his attack. "But whomever either one of you are." He had to pause for breath, even though teleporting for him came natural to him. Teleporting a sword into someone and out was draining. "Don't underestimate me, Zek Del' Shone. Journeyman Artificer, and a gods damn aberration of humanity."

Arlin watched the scene with rapt attention. He silently studied the poachers below and found them wanting, to say the least. Their gear was basic but serviceable, if not sorely lacking for hunting anything other than beasts. Discipline and martial skill was sorely lacking as well. The wood elf found himself staring in wonder upon the woman’s transformation. A moment of envy even flittered across his mind.
Yeah, yeah. She gets all furry and bitey. Let me out to play and we can get all slicey and stabby. She can envy us, no? Arlin shook his head slightly and tried to ignore the knocking he could feel on the walls of the cage within himself.
The teleporting newcomer was more intriguing given the abilities he showed in those few moments. However, Arlin’s hearing was extremely acute. The snippets of conversation he gleaned from the man and woman indicated the man was detestable, merely some chauvinistic imbecile whom had no concept of what respect meant.
See, brother. This is why we kill people. Let me play… please? A low growl escaped from between his clenched teeth.
No. Do you really think ten fools and an asshole are worth your time? The elf readied himself in his crouch as his eyes locked with Morsilme’s again. The black wolf lay calmly in his cage still, despite the door being open. He had lain down and was resting his snout upon his front paws. Those two ice blue eyes waited and watched. Morsilme knew the safest place was in the cage right now, but might contemplate helping his comrade if the fight took too long.
Hmm… You may be right… Call me if ten more show up. Arlin felt the pressure in his mind stop, eliciting a small sigh from him.
Unsheathing his bastard sword, the wood elf’s lips lit up in a grin at the prospect of a fight. The Chained One was not the only being around that enjoyed a good slaughter. He waited until the men had passed his location and were approaching the shapeshifter. As the last one moved forward, Arlin dropped silently. His sword plunged deep into trapezius muscles of the man’s shoulder. Death was upon him before Arlin’s feet hit the forest floor. The grin widened. He stepped forward and with a exhaled breath brought his sword down in a forty-five degree arc. Keen metal sliced cleanly through leather, skin, and muscle of the closest poacher’s back and the man died with a cry of pain. Poachers turned to see their two fallen companions and a smiling red-haired elf facing them.
Oh well. I didn’t want to kill them all from behind anyway.“GET HIM!!!” The order was followed by a battlecry as three more poachers shot towards Arlin. They fanned out and attacked in a three-pronged formation.
Well, look at them. Not as stupid as they appeared. Arlin let out a hearty laugh and charged to meant the front poacher. His feet kicked up dirt as he shot forward. Seeing the glint of steel out of the corner of his eye, Arlin craned his neck to the left abruptly as a sword from the right poacher whistled by his ear. Lashing out with a riposte that took the man’s sliced off the sword hand, the fell back into a controlled slide as cudgel came flying from the left aimed at where his stomach had just been. Leaving the wounded man and cudgel-wielding poacher behind, he came up gracefully from his slice. The bastard sword followed suit, displacing air in a quick swoosh. The front poacher didn’t have time to lower his sword to guard before the blade cut him from groin to throat, dropping entrails and a deluge of blood to the ground.
Arlin spun on the ball of his left foot and brought his sword across in perfect timing to catch and redirect the cudgel aimed at his side. Off-balance, the poacher’s eyes went wide in fear. The elf’s sword severed his neck a second later. He turned to find the wounded man fumbling with his sword in an unaccustomed left-hand grip. Smirking, Arlin stepped forward and swatted it aside before plunging his blade into the man’s gut then twisting the blade. “Die, human. But not too quick.” The man dropped in agony as he kept his intestines inside with his hands. Arlin turned to look at the remaining poachers, one eye ice blue and the other crimson red.
Arlin grimaced.
I said no! I told you could not come out. Awww, but brother… You weren’t doing it right. Killing is fun but butchering is exquisite. You have to infuse them with dread. Make them shit themselves in fear. Introduce agony into their final moments. And THEN you can finally take their souls. Have you learned nothing? The elf growled as he wrestled control back, and turned his gaze to the cages to see where the wolf demon was.

Katerina eyes watched the men move around the camp, waiting for the opportune moment for her to escape. The men laughed as they started to put the cages into the few wagons they had but one man stayed next to Shadow’s cage. His eyes on her waiting for her to make her move so he could slice her companion's throat. The wolf demon stared at him for a moment, their eyes still on each other. Tearing her eyes from the man, she slumped back in her cage as her feet leaned against the cage door.
"Make a move, woman.” The man said, making her look back over to him. His dagger was gripped in his hand as he kneeled by the cage that held her wolf. Shadow growled and snapped his jaws at him. A laugh escaped the man as he hit the cage with his dagger, making Katerina flinch a bit.
“Hahaha, think twice about anything you might try to do… I am watching you.” He said as he leaned against the tree behind him.
A man’s voice made everyone go still and turn to look at him. One even attacked him.
“Excuse me.” She said aloud, hoping he would hear.
“No ONE calls me Bit*h.” The man appeared in front of her and she smiled a bit at him.
“Please. You should apologize to me. You are very disrespectful!” She said to him as her eyes shot towards the men behind him.
“I’ve had about enough of you.” She called out as she kicked the cage with both feet. Soft smoke coming from it as it was frozen to ice. Hitting a man coming up behind the disrespectful one.
Getting out of the cage, she stood for a moment. Her hands going into fist as the cage doors around her started to freeze. Throwing her hands forward, the all the cage doors were ripped from their hinges. A few hitting the men around them, knocking them down. The animals fled from their cages, some running off into the woods or into the sky. Leaving only the wolves and a few men. Her wolf eyes caught movement in the trees and her ears heard the running footsteps of other.
“More. Well great…” Pausing, the woman looked to the man beside her,
“You might want to step back.” She said aloud as she closed her eyes.
White light shined from her, making the men pause in their movements. Hands and feet turned into paws. A tail came out from her back and ears appeared on her head before her body turned into a wolf. The light dissipated to reveal a large wolf. Standing at seven feet tall, white silky smooth fur and bright blue eyes. Howls erupted around her from her wolf pack and then growls as they waited for their Alfa to give her order.
Baring her teeth, the wolf ran forward at the awe struck few men that stood there. Seeing her run at them, they all took out their swords and ran towards her. Jumping to the side as one tried to swing at her, she bit down on his head and swung him into a nearby tree. A scream left the man then nothing. One of the other men were trampled over by her pack and was soon dead like his counterpart. Hearing the footsteps behind her, she moved just in time for the man’s sword to crash into the ground.
“BACK BEAST!! BACK! YOU HEAR ME!” He yelled at her as he swung his sword side to side. Lunging at him, head down, she threw him up in the air then caught him in her mouth. Biting down on the man, her teeth sunk into his legs and throat making the man go limp. The pulse she felt in her mouth slowly stopped.
Chopping one more time to make sure, the wolf demon turned around to look at the man who disrespected her. If he did it again, she would eat him in one bite. Dropping the dead body at his feet, the wolf demon transformed back into her normal self. using her sleeve she whipped the blood from her mouth.
“Call me a bitch again. And I will make sure you die. Slowly.” She said nonchalantly.
The footsteps she heard finally stopped.
“WHAT THE HELL!?” One man yelled. “GET THEM!!!” He yelled. Now there was the rest of the gangs men. There was about ten of them. A smile came to her lips,
“Oh. More fun." Her wolves stood around her, ready to fight.
OOC: Picture in profile of her wolf form if I didn't describe it well enough!

Impossible! There was no way she could be older than him. She didn't act like nor look like she was over a thousand years of age. Even then, the last sixty years he could tell how those who were prone to long life by the way they walked and acted. High, mighty, and looked down on humans and 'lesser' races. Even if she was, she seemed to value the lives of woodland predators over the intelligence of humans. "Bullshit, everything you say is utter bull." Zek muttered under his breath. His hands started to tremble in his current situation. This woman was not following what he wanted her to do, he wanted her to lash out in rage. She would have lost the moment she attacked; she had underestimated his ability. He felt powerless and numb, he wasn't sure whether it was anger, nervousness or relief that she had left. It took awhile before he moved from his spot. There were to many paths to take that he needed to think through. He could pick a fight with her or move on his way. The latter was the best option, the former was the one he wanted. Zek would uphold his personal honor and not let a stupid woman disrespect him. "Nope, not letting her disrespect me like that." Zek muttered. He walked in the direction the women went and it didn't take long before he found profoundly disturbed area of the forest. There were two distinct trials that were unmistakable for anything but drag marks. It could only be mean one thing, she had been kidnapped. Chances were it had been by poachers, otherwise there would be blood from the wolves or her captors. "Well, looks like I'll be rescuing the ungrateful b****." Zek only followed the tracks for a few minutes to distinguish their direction then grew tired of walking. His portrait of the forest in front of him blurred into a white tunnel for only a second before a different portrait appeared. It was the same forest, just a couple hundred meters ahead of where he was. Once, twice, and a dozen more times his vision refreshed with different scenery. On the twelfth refresh his portrait had a few unsightly men in it. "Excuse me, have you seen an unsophisticated b**** wondering around?" Zek asked and looked to his surroundings. There were many cages, wagons, horses and only a few men to operate what was obviously a trapping business. His eyes caught who he was looking for in a cage with some burly man next to it. The burly man took an aggressive step towards him, but Zek did not want anything to do with the man. Before the man could even make a sound, Zek's average frame blinked a short distance in front of the man, grabbed the man and both blinked away. Zek reappeared in front of the woman's cage, crouching. "So, you think you can ru……" Zek had started to say before a scream of a man came from above. There was only a few seconds of screaming before a chilling thud as a body crashed into the ground a few meters behind Zek. "So, you think you can run away and disrespect me?" Zek started. He didn't pay any mind to the few men behind him, they were of no threat to him. He figured they understood they would be next to fall if they messed with him; and hoped his action would scare them off. "Are you going to apologize, or do I get to hear the joy of you screaming next?"

An exasperated huff escaped the wood elf’s pursed lips. What is that damned wolf doing!? Arlin could feel the bond that linked them. It was like a light jacket, hardly felt unless focused upon but still wrapped around you regardless. From what the elf could feel, Morsilme had been directly ahead of him and maybe another ten minutes of travel away. Now he could feel his companion moving rapidly west, deeper into the great forest. The speed at which the wolf was moving indicated to Arlin it was most likely not as simple hunting trip. Morsilme was an untamed creature but in their time together the wolf had never gone so far from Arlin without an indication first. Suspicion slowly settled in upon the wood elf. Worry swiftly followed.
Deft hands quickly secured all the excess items on his person and bag to make sure nothing would make noise or fall out on the move. Once done, Arlin calmed his breathing which had grown a bit ragged. He mentally berated himself for losing his calm. The wolf may be the closest he had to a friend but losing his head over the situation before facts were clear was not a good choice. Losing control was rarely a good choice for a berserker. The thought brought a dark gleam to Arlin’s ice-blue eyes. A voice deep within his soul whispered enticingly. Ah, but you know you love it so. We let the blood flow. Lose yourself to the throes. Feel no woes. Ha ha, ho ho… Let me free, brother… Like the susurrus of a gentle breeze through a tree, the voice petered off into silence, leaving Arlin’s eyes narrowed and his heart thudding to a beat worthy of dancing.
Growling softly with a slight baring of long and sharp, but natural, canines, the wood elf shot off into the undergrowth. At this moment, stealth was not his goal. Powerful leg muscles propelled him over root and under bough. His passing was marked only by the displaced leaves whipped up in the wake of his controlled, yet nearly breakneck, speed. Despite it all, not once did Arlin trip. Never did he even stumble. Each footfall fell perfectly and lifted off again with barely a moment of contact with the surface. Strong fingers lighted briefly upon tree limbs and trucks before using them to further propel the lithe body that sped through the forest. In this manner, Arlin traveled tirelessly. Five minutes turned into thirty and then into sixty. Still he had not caught up with his companion and ever did the link between them show him that still further he must go. An hour turned into two, and time continued on just as the elf covered ground. It was nearing noon before the wood elf finally felt the link’s strength increasing rapidly. He had finally caught up. Morsilme had stopped moving an hour before and hadn’t done so again. Arlin was no longer suspicious as he now knew something was amiss. His companion never moved around or acted in such a manner. These thoughts were validated as he closed within a mile.
Arlin slowed and turned his gait back into one meant for stealth. He moved with care as he passed through the trees. Each step landed upon the balls of his feet with slightly bent knees. His eyes didn’t so much as scan the area as relax themselves into something he called “seeing without seeing”. The warrior merely quit focusing on the details and looked at everything in equal measure. In such a way he was able to detect and avoid the traps set as he approached. A quick scrutiny of a few showed they were meant more for animal predators than for someone like himself. When Arlin had passed the traps, his ears caught the sounds of gruff voices and animals.
Arlin checked his surroundings and was pleased to find a tree with low-hanging branches. After rapidly scaling it, the wood elf traversed from one tree to the next. It did not take long for him to find his way to the source of the commotion. Below and ahead of him was a small clearing, such as one could find when surrounding by the thick forest. Here he could see five men surrounding multiple cages. A nearby wagon had another figure sitting on the driver’s seat and the wood elf could hear two more men stomping around nearby. One could be heard distinctly as he cursed about having to find dry wood for a lunch fire.Already knowing what had happened, his gaze searched the cages closely. Various beasts of the rainforest filled each cage. It was the presence of other wolves that intrigued Arlin, but even more so was the cage surrounded by five of the poachers. From his vantage point, the wood elf noticed a female figure within. Poachers becoming slavers? A new low for these fools. He quickly moved his attention back to the cages. Ice blue eyes made contact with another pair of ice-blue eyes. The cage within Arlin’s reverberated. Arlin could hear chains rattling within his mind. Brother…Morsilme merely blinked slowly, his demeanor one of expectant boredom. A wolf understood loyalty more than any other creature, and Morsilme knew his companion would be around eventually. It kept looking up at Arlin and waited. The wolf knew these men were beyond dead. They just didn’t quite know it yet. Their doom was on a clock counting down within Arlin’s ice-eyes slowly darkening to crimson.

The wolves around the two, growled softly at the man. The didn’t attack, awaiting the actions from their companion. It was only one man against six wolves and a demon. They liked their odds.
Hearing the man speak, a small laugh left the woman’s lips. It wasn’t the first time someone had assumed she was younger than them. It wasn’t the last. For being the age she was, she sure didn’t look it. Being immortal had its perks.
“Oh sweetheart.” The woman began, a smile lining her lips.
“I am older than you by a thousand years.” She spoke as she took a step forward, inhaling through her nose. She could smell his sweat that dripped from him. Was it nervousness? She hoped so. Her bright blue eyes took in every inch of him then landed on his eyes.
”My wolves don’t eat human. They dislike the taste, plus they don’t know where they have been.” She said aloud to him.
“Also, if they feel threatened, they will attack. But from the smell of you..” She inhaled again, her eyes flashing.
“You good sir, are too nervous to attack anything.” Another laugh left her lips as she fisted both her hands, the smoke around them dissipated.
“Well, this was fun. Thank you for the entertainment. I take my leave.” She said with a slight bow then turned away from the man and walked through the trees, her wolves following. She ignored his want for her to apologize. He should have been the one to, but not caring for that she made her way away from the man. Her boots crunching on the leaves and branches. It wasn’t long before she was a few yards away from the man. Thinking about what had happened, a small laugh left her. She could of ate him for lunch in one bite. Shaking her head, she continued on her way through the forest.
Katerina’s mind wasn’t on the traveling at hand, she didn’t see the net hidden beneath the leaves until her wolves growled. In an instant, her and her six wolves were hanging from the trees.
“Damnit,” She cursed as her eyes looked around her at her wolves.
“Are you guys alright?” She asked them and they started to growl. A sharp pain erupted in the back of her mind and darkness took her.
It wasn’t long before the wolf demon awoke, bars around her. Laughs came from all around her, her eyes moved from face to face, of the men standing over her.
‘Five.’ She thought, taking them in.
“How much do you think she will go for?” One of them asked. The man in the middle stood tall, ‘
The leader.’ She thought as her eyes locked on him. “With that pretty of a face, maybe fifty silver.” He said aloud then leaned down on the cage.
“Or maybe I’ll take you for myself.” Katerina glared at the man who was thinking of claiming her.
“Do it. And I’ll cut your throat while you sleep.” She said to him which only made him laugh. Kicking the cage to scare her, she stood still watching as they moved away from her.
A gasp left her lips as her eyes saw her wolves. Each of them in a cage, just like hers. A few other animals as well. From monkeys and tigers.
‘Fu*king poachers.’ She thought as she leaned back against the cage. Her foot about to kick the cage open. “No you don’t.” The leader said as he leaned over the cage. Looking over to the man beside him, he nodded. Katerina’s eyes left the leader and watch the man walk through the camp to her one of her wolfs.
“Shadow..” She whispered as the man grabbed him by the scruff and pulled him against the cage. A knife to the throat made the wolf freeze. Growls erupted around them from her wolfs and snapping.
“Don’t hurt him!” Katerina yelled to them.
“Don’t try anything, or your wolves die.” He said to her a smirk on his lips. Kicking the cage again made the wolf demon flinch this time.
Her wolves had always been her weakness, pulling her legs up to her chest, her eyes watched the man that stood beside the cage that held her second.
“It will all be okay.” She whispered just enough for her wolves to hear. She had to figure out a way out. One way or another, they would all get out of there.

A dark haired woman emerged from the brush and walked in between the two visible wolves. Many possible theories as to why a woman could just walk in between two feral wolves. Was she raised by them or did she raise them? Is she one of those half-breeds of a human and wolf, or some mix of races? It was also possible that she could command nature and had them under her power. However she was able to walk right up between two wolves, it would be best not to underestimate this woman.
A pale white aura swilled around her forearms; a blatant sign of magic and possible indicator of what kind of magic. She sounded cold as ice, and revealed far too much information about herself in her 'empty' threat. It was empty to him, because there was no way she could keep up with him. No, Zek was far to fast for an ice mage to hit him with any form of spell before he would add blade to their torso.
"You expect me to lay down and let your pets rip me to shreds for breakfast? That's complete bull, and your threat is empty. You're to full of yourself youngin'." Zek rambled,
"Your pets entrails would make great sausage, you wouldn't to bed yourself as a treat." He made some obscene gestures with his hands and hips. Immediate regret for his last statement hit him. The empty words he said where only for intimidation or to force her hand into attacking first. After all, he couldn't let a woman threaten him; but a small part of him wanted to run away from this situation he was in.
"Or maybe you can apologize for your mutts transgressions on me and your disrespectful tongue, woman." Zek said with a finger pointed at her and a step in her direction.

Arlin shrugged to himself after a few minutes of waiting for his wolf companion. He knew he had no control over Morsilme and honestly did not expect the wolf to wait around for the wood elf to finish his reveries. It worked well enough for Arlin. The two had been companions for a long time now and the one thing Arlin had learned was that a wolf was not a beast to be tamed, nor were they meant to be. The magic of the animal was lost if its spirit was broken.
Ha, just like the spirits of any man or beast. Break it and you break them. Few ever come back from it. His hand tightened into a fist subconsciously.
Shaking his red hair out of his face, Arlin huffed out a breath. He tried not to let his mind wander to such places. It was merely fuel for the caged beast in his soul. To feet that thing was to make it stronger, and he had such tentative control over it as is. But then, he was in the middle of a massive forest. Should he lose control, there should not be any civilian casualties. Of course Arlin would regret the damage to the forest itself, but better that than slaughtering innocents as was his history when the beast raged. He sighed.
Where is that damn wolf!?Arlin reached out with his senses, following the link that lay between the wolf and him. It wasn’t so much an exact locator as more a compass that always pointed to his friend.
Friend? Huh. Never realized I thought of the wolf as such. Sensing the wolf lay a long trek to the south-west, the wood elf hopped down off the low branch and landed with an acrobatic roll to redistribute the force. He came to his feet gracefully and snatched his bag that was lying against the massive tree trunk, quickly slinging it over his shoulder to lie against his cloak. With a deep breath, Arlin plunged into the underbrush in the direction of his companion.
***
Leagues away from Arlin, Morsilme slowly stalked the pack that he had scented previously. The wolf’s ice blue eyes scanned its surroundings cautiously as it circled the scent so that it remained downwind. It did not want to be noticed by its brethren in case the pack was led by an aggressive alpha. Shows of dominance were an irritation to the lone wolf, such is why it had chosen to bond with another lone wolf, despite that one’s bipedal nature, as opposed to dealing with its own kind. Morsilme held a strange level of sentience and intelligence for a mere wolf.
It found itself slowly approaching the scents. Sniffing again, it detected…a human. And something else of a nature it had not come into contact with. Morsilme’s detected the pheromones that indicated this unknown entity was female but it could tell nothing much more than that. A sense of wolfishness came across but it was unlike any wolf he’d come in contact with before. Unknowns were a danger. Sticking to stealth, Morsilme crept closer until it could see through the bush it was using as a hiding spot. From here, it saw the six wolves, a human male, and a woman. The woman confused it but six wolves did not. Hackles began to rise as Morsilme surveyed the scene, yet it remained a motionless black shadow within the bush as it waited.
He felt a momentary pulse from Arlin and knew his companion would be following along eventually. Morsilme hoped he didn’t come from downwind either, because the wolf would be hard-pressed to smell his coming. The wood elf loved to sneak up on Morsilme. He seemed to like making a game of it.

The morning air was refreshing to the elemental. Moving a loose strand of brown hair behind her ear, Katerina's eyes watched as her wolves ran off deeper into the woods before her. She wasn't sure where they were going but they were leaving her. She didn't mind, her wolves often went out on their own, they were her pets. The wolf pack were her family, even if she was their alpha. Stepping over a fallen branch, her black knee high boots crunched onto a small pile of leaves. Stopping for a moment, her eyes looked around her. Sounds were never good in a forest, never know what could be near by.
Continuing on her way, after nothing came out to get her. She walked along the slightly visible path, her boots missing the leaves this time. Being part wolf, helped her in her human form. She wasn't as quite in her human form as she was in her wolf form. But it helped her be a bit more light on her feet. The wolf demon hopped over a log and made her way through the forest. Her destination unknown to her as she wiped the sweat that collected on her brow. The heat of the rain forest was annoying to her, but she tried to make her day the best and pushed the thought from her mind.
A sudden noise made her freeze. There was a presence in the forest besides her wolves. Closing her eyes, she called her wolves back to her. She didn't know where they were, but a presence in the forest could be bad. Her eyes looked around her and stopped, spotting something in the distance.
'A wolf…' She thought to herself. But not of her pack. Hearing something to the north of her, she looked to see her wolves gather around her. A smile crossed her lips, they were okay. Her eyes glanced to each of them.
“Shadow… Where is Sage and Maleficent?” She asked wondering where the two trouble makers were.
“Damnit..” Katerina said aloud to herself before she broke out into a run. Her eyes looking this way and that, she needed to know where they were before anything happened. She had a bad feeling. It was never good when they didn't return to the pack. A voice in the distance made the wolf stop in her tacks. What were they up to?
“Damn them…” She said to herself before running towards their location. It didn't take long before the wolf demon came upon them and the man, egging them on to attack him.
Walking in between the two wolves, her fingers ran over their back to between the ears. The pack surrounded the man. There was six wolves in all. They would always protect their family. Keeping they're distance, the woman looked over the man before her. She didn't say anything for a moment before assaying the situation. Her hands started to glow a pale white, swills of soft smoke ran around her wrists to her elbows.
"If you dare hurt my wolves, I will eviscerate you and use your entrails to make grotesque ice sculptures." She spoke calmly and matter of factually. She wasn't like her old self anymore, the man would have been dead by now if she was. Instead she was giving him a second chance. What he did with this chance was on him.

The day had just started and there was fresh dew on the grass. Someday it was easy to ignore the dew, but today was not one of them. The dew had soaked through Zek's plain shoes, and small blades of stuck to the sole. To walk through the wet grass for the fourth day in a row had worn on his nerve. Never would he thought the filth-ridden walkways of Tarishitar would be missed. "So much green and brown, not enough silver or gold." He spoke to himself, slightly regretting his choice to leave his decent paying job. For someone entering his 122nd year of life, he wanted to explore world instead of slaving away for a selfish guild. Though days like today, no one to converse with and nothing to do but walk, sucked. Zek stopped in a small clearing and looked up in the sky with a sigh. "Drats, nimbus clouds." He whispered under his breath. He continued to stand there with his hands in his pockets and wondered if anything could go worse. The need to walk for long distances and it raining was not a very pleasurable situation. When he looked away from the clouds to the path forward, he had locked eyes with a wolf. Twenty feet in front of him, not just one wolf was standing in front of him but two. "Really? No serious, really?" He spoke to whatever was within earshot. "I'm lost. My feet hurt. It's about to rain, and now I'm surrounded by wolves." He complained, even though half of his complaints weren't true. "If you can understand common at all wolves, I'd suggest you leave before I cut you and your pack in half." He threatened with his hand pointed at the wolf. Zek might not look threatening to wild animals with his slightly taller average body, messy silver hair and topaz eyes. He didn't even have much on his person to make him seem anymore threatening, but very little would perceive him to be the threat he actually was. One could only see his plain commoners clothing, but he was far from being not armed to the teeth. "Go ahead, try me. I dare you." Zek slightly wanted the beast to attack him. It would entertain him. However, he really didn't want to deal with an unknown amount of wolves that had surrounded him; if there was more than the two in front of him.

Arlin watched the sun rise from his perch atop the tallest tree within leagues. His booted feet were spaced evenly in his crouched position while one slender, callused hand rested on his knee and the other held his sword still. With perfect balance, he stood slowly and stretched. A sigh of contentment was released as his ice blue eyes took in the beauty that lay before him. Miles and miles of forest stretched across his vision. The captivating green of the forest canopy was highlighted by the various shades of orange, yellow, and red from the rising sun. Clouds were cast in the duality of light and dark as the sun’s rays struck them.
Ever there is balance, even in the simple rising of the sun. His thought was followed by the flash of a grin that disappeared as quickly as it had arrived.
The sounds of the forest caught his attention and he turned his gaze down to the ground far below him. Arlin’s dark red hair was highlighted intensely by the sun just as a cool breeze flowed passed. His hair was blown back just enough to reveal his pointed ears denoting his heritage. Cocking head to the side, the elf listened intently for any unnatural sounds. Finding none, Arlin relaxed slightly and stepped back to lean against the trunk. His arms crossed and he closed his eyes. Breathing deeply, he emptied his mind and simply
was. Arlin’s perceived the world around himself with a calm clarity that was so rare to be found for someone like him. The cage inside his mind rattled as something struck it. The elf refused to be distracted by
him. Meditation continued for another hour before Arlin sighed and opened his eyes again.
Morning had fully awakened for the forest and clouds were moving in.
Rain again. May as well enjoy the morning before it gets muggy. Arlin gracefully hopped off the branch and caught it in both hands before he dropped down to the next. With a show of agility, he made his way down to the bottom layer of branches that left him about twenty feet in the air. From here he began scanning the forest floor for any of the predators that stalked these lands. Few felt the need to confront an elf with his peculiar ailment and he returned the favor.
Balance in all things. One thought did continue running across his mind however.
Where…is Morsilme? That wolf should have returned by now.A few leagues away the wolf in question stalked the forest floor. He padded slowly across the ground, his nostrils scenting something…familiar. Morsilme’s coat was black as night, but softened by lightened patches on his underbelly. The wolf had been busy for hours and his fur showed the signs by a few leaves and twigs wound within it. Not a thick winter coat by any stretch, he still had enough fur to get messy. Its own ice blue eyes scanned the area, following the scent it knew well enough. Wolves. There was a pack nearby.

Silent steps move through the forest, unseen. The bright blue eyes of the elemental scanned the area around her. The forest music calming her as her heart raced. Howls erupted around her and a smirk appeared on her face. They were on the hunt. Catching the scent, it was time to run. Her feet quick as they moved underneath her. Jumping over a fallen log here and there and roots that grew above ground. Her body dodging random branch falling in her way or to move around a tree. Growls grew closer to the elemental as she ran through some tall grass, it engulfed her for a moment before releasing her into the forest again.
A large cat appeared in her view finally. Its black stripes moving up and down as the animal ran away from her. Picking up her pace, she ran up a large rock to land in front of the tiger. A loud growl erupted from its chest as he snapped his jaws at her.
“Here, kitty, kitty.” She taunted the cat as they slowly moved in a circle. The jumped towards her, his claws outstretch to try and catch her throat. Seeing the move, Katerina dropped and rolled under the tiger. Standing quickly, the tiger was about to lunge at her again but instead his eyes landed on the wolves that gathered around him.
“Dinner is served.” She whispered and the wolves lunged at the cat.
The dying roars of the tiger echoed through the forest. The wolves had finally catched their meal. Leaving her six wolves to eat their meal. She started to grab some fire wood. She wasn’t in the mood for raw meat today. Dumping the few dry pieces of wood she found, the elemental started her fire. It wasn’t long before her meat was cooked and she could finally eat it. Her companions laid around her, satisfied with their meal. Soft breathing was heard all around her, soothing the wolf demon as she ate her food.
After a few hours of relaxing, Katerina looked up at the branches of the tree, no light shined through anymore. It was time for bed. It had been a long day on her feet and it was time for some rest. Laying down on the ground beside her wolves, she drifted off to sleep. After a few hours, the wolves rose from their sleep and ran off into the forest, they didn’t want to wake their companion as they played and ruff housed so they disappeared into the trees.
Dreamland was good to her that night. Taking her to the ocean, sailing across the seas, the wind in her hair and the sea air in her lungs. It wasn't till the elemental awoken she was filled with despaired. It had been a long while since she had seen the ocean.
'Its time to sail back home..' She thought to herself. She needed to find out about her family, about her brother. With a nod, she rose from her spot on the ground. Her eyes glancing around the trees around her. Her wolves weren't there that morning. They were probably hunting for breakfast. A smile cross her lips.
"You guys eat too much." She whispered to herself. As she walked along the path, her mind wondered what this day might bring.
