Leodrisa lightly winced as she looked back at her shoulder. She had just returned from a difficult job retrieving some sort of artifact and took a lot of damage. She looked around, forcing herself to stop and look more at her injury. She leaned back against a nearby tree and looked more at the injury: it had stopped bleeding, but was still deep and painful. She reached into her bag and began to wrap it up as much as she could. She softly sighed in relief and got back onto her feet, continuing to walk again.

She briefly looked up at the sky with a small sigh, it was getting late and she  knew she couldn't keep walking. She really didn't want to face any bandits or wild animals. She looked up a nearby tree and began to climb. She stopped on a larger branch and lied back, putting her bag to the side and eventually relaxing. She lightly sighed, brushing her hair to the side and looking up at the stars. It was a habit of hers while she tried to get to sleep, counting the constellations and listening around, in case she heard footsteps nearby. Listening to the silence, she thought about where to move after leaving the woods and thinking about the next nearby town.

Laeto has always been a dangerous place, the diaseases, venomous insects and aggressive beasts that lurked in both water or land made this a perilous place; such a pity, for it's a nice rainforest…Even if you knew the place, travelling alone was close to a death sentence! Wolfpacks, cannibal tribes, slavers, huge insects.. all of these hunt for unsuspecting prey, be it animal or man. Even people who travelled in large groups are in danger here!It seemed that a dreadful forest troll had found what seemed to be an easy prey, a resting, wounded elf traveller! Forest trolls are large, bulky, hairy man eating beasts, capable of resisting a deadly striie from almost any weapon. A wanderer's natural foe! This one had a big spiked club, and would not hestitate to use it!

The troll roared and quickly sprited towards the unsuspecting elf, ready to strike. The elf would already be dead flesh, if not for three magical daggers, that swiftly stabbed it's chest. "Look what we found boys, we could sell it's eyes at a high price if we strike it down!" Yelled an armored man to his four companions. His name was Tacitus Silanus, who, along his men, was wandering the area. The five men prepared to engage in combat with the monster, but first, Silanus exclaimed to the elf: "If you don't want to end up as troll food, I suggest you move away…" Now, the slightly injured troll was furious, and was about to strike everyone in it's way!

She jumped onto her feet in surprise, muttering to herself angrily. She jumped out of the tree, grabbing her bow and supplies. She turned to the troll and immediately fired a few arrows at the troll, aiming perfectly. She turned towards the figure, and gave a small appreciative nod for the help. She dodged a few of its attacks, trying to move quickly. She briefly looked over at her shoulder with a sigh, she briefly forgot about her injury and had re-opened it. She shook her head, choosing to ignore it for now. After the troll was gone, she could focus on it and re-wrap it.

She fired her arrows whenever she could, occasionally hopping back. She wanted to make sure there was space between herself and the troll. She definitely didn't want to earn another scar or mark. She didn't like to be stuck in one place, instead she wanted to keep moving and see new places. If she stayed in place, she would easily get bored.

The armed men could not help but stand and watch how the agile elf gracefully hopped once and again, shooting her arrows at the beast. The troll had a thick fur, which protected against the arrows, nonetheless, the shots injured it. The more the beast was hit, the angrier it became. Even though it was useless for the monster to chase the elf, as she was much faster than it. Slowly, the archer managed to exhaust the troll… It was time to strike! Silanus and one of his companions threw their large, sturdy javelins at the beast, damaging it badly. "You need a large weapon to shoot down a large beast…!" exclaimed one of the arrogant soldiers, proudly pointing at the beast.

The forest troll retaliated and surprisingly resisted the two lethal javelins! It was now blinded by rage, but, luckily to them, it was confused… Something one would excpect from such a primitive beast… The monster flung his big spiked club towards the elf, perhaps in a final attempt to kill her. Then, the beast raised a large boulder near it and attemped to throw it to the men. Without a second thought, Silanus hurled another javelin at it, which caused the troll to fall and drop the rock. Nonetheless, it was still alive, laying on all fours. The best would not live much with two javelins impaling it's body, but it was better to put it down quickly.

The armed men slowly walked towards it, so they could kill it and then take it's precious three eyes, which sold well in the market. However, if the elf wanted to do the favor and shoot another final, deadly arrow, it would be better to do it now, before anyone else did it. "Such a sturdy beast…!" Said Silanus, while walking to it with his sword in his hand.

She sighed and slowly lowered her bow after it was dead. She walked close to it and looked it over. Inside, she silently thanked the gods and was just glad these men arrived before she settled to rest. The thought of what could have happened made her shiver and lightly shake her head. She brushed herself off before finally paying attention to the men.She looked at the men hesitantly, she didn't trust others easily and wasn't sure what was going to happen now. She brushed her hair away from her face and replied, "Thank you for the warning. I definitely didn't want to be around when that troll got to me."

She turned away from them and swung her bag and bow back onto her back. She lightly nodded at the body of the troll and said, "You're welcome to the body of that beast. After all, I don't want to deal with it again." She crossed her arms and turned to walk away, planning to hop back up into another nearby tree and disappear. She just hoped that these men didn't want to stop her and ask any more questions on who she was and what she was doing here. If he was going to going to ask any questions, she was going to throw another warning shot with her bow. She definitely preferred to face things on her own, and didn't like to depend on others too much.

The armed men gave out a slightly loud laugh after hearing her words. "Welcome for the body of the beast" said one of the soldiers. "Your substandard weapons merely slowed the beast down, ha!" the same soldier continued to speak. After hearing his words, the rest of them, including their leader Tacitus Silanus, laughed even louder. Another one added with a mockingly tone: "I have to recognize though, for an elf with a leg and a half, you leap really good!"  This commentary caused even more laughs among the men. "Thank you for the warning, you mean thank you for doing EVERYTHING, right… Elf?" Asked Silanus, with a dishonest grin on his face. "Oh, anytime darling, we're here to help, tee-hee..." he added.

"Wher' you headin' sweetie, leavin' early?" asked one of the daring soldiers, who was an orc and one of Silanus' most trusted henchmen. As the injured woman turned away with crossed arms and simply walked away, the ebullient faces of the armed men suddenly dissapeared, turning into a serious, malicious leer. "What are you carrying in that back, elf? Can we see?" Asked one of the soldiers, as they all slowly walked closer to her.

She spun around and quickly pointed an arrow at him.  "Listen, you're lucky I'm going now. I appreciate your help, but need to keep going." She narrowed her eyes, glaring especially at the orc. "I am nobody's sweetie, so don't get any ideas." She brushed her hair away from her face and said, "Just the basics, food and water. Unless your so curious about food and water, there's really nothing to see." She rolled her eyes and swung onto the nearby tree again, putting some distance between the two of them. Just the sight of them again reminded her how much she preferred to be alone and how she really didn't trust others.

She glared at the one she figured was the leader of the group of the men. "You are no help. I thought that a leader should contain his soldiers as best he could." She placed her bow back onto her back and said, "Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go."

With open arms and a haughty face, Silanus answered to her last comment: "Contain my soldiers? My fine gentlemen simply asked what you were carrying in that heavy bag! To be honest, one of those fancy generals from Adeluna would have thrown another javelin at you, just for pointing your toy at us!" When he finished speaking, Silanus left out a laugh, and his soldiers laughed after him. "Oh, our intentions are noble and unpretentious, don't worry… darling!" He added.

The orc was slightly upset and walked even closer to her, orcs had a very bad attitude and he was the living proof of it. "I bet you of' havings only burden in that heavy bag, le' me helps you with it!" As the orchish soldier spoke, he revealed his large teeth… A bad sign, most likely! "Yeah, don't be so shy elf! Come and give a reward to your knights in shining armour who helped you, hah! Anything is appreciated…" Said another daring, arrogant soldier.

A third soldier got even closer to the elf, this one said "My throat is really dry right now… Some water might help! Come, I threw one of the javelins that killed the beast… Give me some water… Lend me your satchel…!" It seemed the daring troopers attemped to surround the elf. "Huh… You better stop, gentlemen… We have enough with the beast's eye, we don't need the junk this girl carries…" Although dissapointed, the troopers stopped right where they were, not even another step ahead!

"Or we might kidnap her and sell her as a slave to a tribe of orchish cannibals, I heard elves sell out pretty well! How much silver pieces for their pointy, luxurious ears? 50… 100? I don't quite remember…" Said Silanus, once again. The confused soldiers looked at each other, then stared at the elfl. "Why are you so scared, so suspicious, huh? Even running away from us! Don't you see we have nothing but the most divine intentions right here, hah! Are you hiding something, elf?" Asked their leader. "And why are you so damn wounded? Oh… I know… You're a thief who stole something and got injured while doing it, then ran away and hid in the woods… I wonder if there is a bounty on your head…."

She went to continue backing away from them, silently afraid of them. But she did her best to cover it up as best as she could. As she tried to continue to back up, she realized too late that she had cornered herself. She glared at the man again who led these soldiers, she especially didn't like him or trust him too much. She looked around the other soldiers and at the man, thinking that maybe if she could run past them, she could escape. She self-consciously bit her lip. "Do not call me darling." She said with an almost warning tone to her voice.

She glanced occasionally at the orc soldier, he definitely got on her nerves. Perhaps it was the fact that she never trusted orcs or got out of many sticky situations caused by them, she felt her heart rush in her chest. She looked back towards the soldiers, and snapped at them, "Listen, you just warned me that he," She motioned towards the body of the beast. "Was after me, I got out of the tree and fired a good few shots at him. You should be lucky that this brute's eye is still intact."

She shot her head back towards the leader of the soldiers, but couldn't get any words to come out. After a time, she finally replied, "You just try selling me.   I'll be a bigger trouble then you lot can handle. I don't know what you think, that I can't handle myself?" She pushed her way past the other soldiers and stormed right up to him. "Well that's wrong. After all, an elf can get out of more situations then a simple man can." She had forgot of her injury, just now full of anger and ready to prove him wrong. "I am a not a thief or anyone wanted. I just know how to fight back and hold some pride. Injuries and scars can tell quite a few stories."

The soldiers could not help but hear and observe, with a mocking grin drawn on their faces, at the furious elf talking. She looked like a big sister doing her best to teach a lesson to her sibling; such thing made the troopers occasionally laugh. They had their guard down, nobody dared to thing the angry elf but try anything, she didn't seem that dumb. Her irritated glare only made them grin even more!

When the elf approached Tacitus Silanus and simply walked past his henchmen, everyone's laughing faces turned into surprised ones. How… Why… Why did she do such thing? The elf didn't know them! They could have been bandits, or assassins, or cultists! Some men even had their hands on the pommel of their swords, ready to un-sheate their weapons if the elf tried anything risky near their leader. However, he did not have a surprised look, instead he had the arrogant grin he always had. "Hehee you sound really angry for a tiny elf! I heard that when you get furious, your body warms up… I bet there are plenty of trolls nearby wishing to eat a warm, tiny elf, haha!" As always, Silanus had his right arm hidden beneath his long, red cloak while speaking.

"I am feeling lenient today, so I shall not sell your poor self to the slave market, not today atleast!" When he finished speaking, Silanus walked onwards, pushing the elf with his shoulder. "Are you scared, little elf? Scared of the mischievous soldiers, are ya? Because you look like you are." Now, Silanus turned his body to her once again, his arm not under his cloak this time. "Hiding your fear beneath anger, instead of ignoring the bothersome strangers and walking away. HUH! We tend to be intimidating some times, I blame the orc…" When he said that, everyone turned to the orchish soldier, with a teasing, smiling face. "So… You're a bigger trouble that we can handle? Was the one who disfigurated you and caused that ugly wound too much too? Ha! May I ask your name, miss troublesome elf?"
