I am writing this on a piece of parchment I found. It is a bit soggy, but it will do. I am scared. My greatest dreams have finally been realized, I am a mermaid at last! But I have yet to see any other mermaids or mermen here. 

I have been wandering the waters. Has something happened? Where are all of the merfolk? Why am I alone? I am very frightened and I only have this piece of paper to keep me company. The only life I've seen is some krill, and a large patch of coral. Where is everyone?
