In her whole life this was the first time Cassandra had been this far to the North of Canelux. Truly, she had never been further North than the Plains of Bohar, so the whole trip this far had been one new experience after another for Cassandra. She had some time off from working at the Second Circle, she had been allowed some time to explore the lands for herself now that she had control of her powers. With the threat of the lycans who had turned her also taken care of, Cassandra did not have any enemies out there that might be looking for her. So, in all fairness, she should be able to travel safely without worrying about someone stabbing her in the back. At least less than some people would anyway.

This freedom of movement had given her an idea, take an airship from Adeluna all the way to Sularia and spend a few days in that city. After that, collect some camping gear and start making her way South again back to Vilpamolan, taking in all the sights between the two cities. It was not going to be a short journey by any means, but Cassandra was looking forward to it. The trip on the airship, her first time for that too, had been exhilarating, so be so high up in the sky and see just tiny details that were far below them. She had felt a bit sick a first but had recovered from that and had a wonderful time on the ship. She had spoken to some people, Cass did not make any new friends, but the friendly chatter had been nice.

She had learned that Sularia was a city filled with primarily females and that it was also a safe city to. So when Cassandra had arrived in Sularia it did not take her long to find out that that information had been correct; she had hardly seen any males among the throngs of people. Not that it mattered to Cassandra really, she was not here looking for love or sex, though, she had figured out a while ago that she had become far more open to things since her change into a lycan. Perhaps it was part of being a lycan, or the company that she now kept among those at the Second Circle, or maybe she had always been this open to sexuality but had repressed it while she had been a human at home. Cassandra had no idea and now she did not care, she had accepted her lot in life and was far happy for it.

She had been in Sularia for most of the day now, having arrived around noon to the city. Cassandra was eating, something she found herself doing far more than in the past though she had a fairly good idea why that was, some ribs she had purchased from a stall as she wondered around the marketplace. The red head had some intentions of buying some trinkets if anything caught her fancy, but right now her meal was more important. It was about twenty minutes before she was finished eating and found a place to put her trash when a barking noise caught her ears from near by.

Some sort of canine was barking, though it sounded young and something in Cass’ mind clicked, she wanted to go and see what it was making the noise. Following it around a corner she came to a large gaudily decorated cart that was brightly painted to and some cages were scattered around it. Mostly song birds and some rabbits, some cats and dogs, but there was that one bark that was distinct to Cassandra’s ears. The merchant of the animals came out of the cart and saw Cassandra, a grumpy looking woman, elven, it was hard to gauge her age but she wasn’t young, but not old by their standards either. She had a billowy dress and a pair of spectacles tipped her nose as she had the red headed woman in her green cape. ”Oh, hello there. Please, feel free to have a look, but don’t open any of the cages.” She instructed and took a seat in a chair and leaned back as she sipped a drink.

Cassandra nodded in reply to the instructions given and went straight to the sound of the barking that had attracted her. Inside its own cage was a puppy, but not any normal kind of puppy, this was a wolf puppy, furthermore, its coat was a violet colour and it had pin pricks of white light in, almost like the night’s sky. It, thought after a sniff Cassandra figured it was a she, so, she, upon seeing Cassandra crouch down next to the cage barked happily her little tail wagging furiously. Cassandra guessed that the puppy knew exactly what Cassandra was and could smell the wolf that was her. ”Well hello there, little one, aren’t you adorable?” Cassandra smiled and poked a few fingers through the cage’s wall to the pup who got really excited as she licked at Cass’ fingers.

Cassandra’s heart melted, nope, to hell with trinkets, she wanted this puppy, she was too adorable! Smiling Cassandra stood and walked back to the merchant woman. ”How much for that wolf puppy?” Cassandra asked with a smile.

”Two grand.” Was the flat reply.

”What?!”

”She’s a rare breed, she’s a dusk wolf, there aren’t too many of them in the world, I’m lucky to just have her. That’s the price, take it or leave it.” The merchant replied with a dismissive gesture, as it wanting someone with no money to go away.

Cassandra was not broke, but she had not brought that much silver with her. ”All, alright, thank you anyway.” Cassandra replied in a defeated tone and walked away, back around the corner before plunking herself down on the closest bench, she could hear the puppy barking and whimpering as she walked away. It broke her heart.
