All the pretty little things he could take. And without a single soul noticing, no less.

Galen’s wings fluttered as he flew at a stealthy height. So many handbags left unwatched, so easy to rummage through for something valuable. And the jewels that dangled from the ears of women and shimmered above their bosoms. All simple things to take with careful timing. But, what should he steal? As a pixie he could only carry so much weight, and it’d become more difficult to remain unseen if he chose something too large, too shiny. He decided taking one thing at a time was best. He could stash it someplace safe where he could later retrieve it when he’s large enough to carry it all unseen.

He paused over the beverage table to look over all of the unsuspecting faces walking about, dancing around and smiling. Suckers. He grinned while he stroked his chin thoughtfully. Where to strike first?

Luna had been sitting in a chocolate tree, observing the festivities below her. It had been a heartwarming moment to watch the child tell her grandmother what mattered here and now. In some ways, the pixie was jealous. While she had not risen to any form of power, she had lost her child, her firstborn, too. There was no way one could accurately describe the gaping hole that threatened to absorb your very essence.

However, the pixie was finally trying to work past it, to stop living in denial. She wanted to try and create a life for herself… As she imagined he would tell her to. With her gift having been delivered, the pixie came down from her perch, shifting as she did from six inches to over five feet tall. In this effort, she had worn something she did not normally wear. It was a long-black number with a unique little twist. The fabric hugged her right shoulder, seemed to fit her form as it reached for her opposite hip. A short ways below that started the slit that revealed most of her left leg.

Blue fabric made up the second half of the top. It was designed with a trumpet sleeve instead of the more traditional right one. Three strands of crystals wrapped around her waist. As per usual, she was barefoot as she walked through the party. Luna's long white hair remained straight as it cascaded down her back in silky sheets. Lavender eyes danced over the other guests, looking for someone to enjoy a little innocent mischief of a pixie.

A certain woman caught his eye. She had the most stunning face, but he was more interested in the large blue stones adorning her collarbone. The chain was the cleanest silver, with white diamonds that sparkled brilliantly when hit by light. He had an eye for jewelry, and he could tell that the necklace was genuine. How much would something like that sell for? The necklace alone would surely last him a couple weeks rent. Even her dress was extravagant, sparkly and silver. If she had enough coin to afford all of that, she could afford another necklace.

He’d decided. She would be the first.

He flew at a low height, swerving among the legs of those dancing and strolling. As he made his way towards her, he formed a plan. He’d need a distraction, one concerning enough to provide her undivided attention, and long enough for him to take the necklace without her noticing. As well as the eyes of those around. But that was a problem. He suddenly paused. Looking again, she was surrounded by people. Those near her would be the biggest issue.

Then, something else caught his attention. Further beyond, a tiny figure descended from one of the trees. The figure was unclear at first, until he saw it shift and grow in size. It was a woman! And she was absolutely breathtaking.

He had to snap himself out of a stupor. Had he seen it right? Was she another pixie? When was the last he’d seen one of his own kind? And her appearance… She was simply too precious to ignore. The necklace could wait.

He flew beneath the nearest empty table and shifted within its shadows. Then, carefully, he crawled out with an act to make others think he’d dropped something and now couldn’t find it. Why else would he emerge from under a table, they’d be led to think. When he faked giving up, he straightened his suit jacket and ran his fingers through his ebony locks. And with a smile, he approached the woman and tapped her on the shoulder. “You have a wandering gaze,” he said, voice deep and smooth. “Looking for someone? Or am I fortunate enough to have found such a stunning beauty without a dance partner?”

Too short, too stern, too angry, too young. Nobody seemed to be mischievous enough for the pixie. Anytime she did find someone with the proper glint in their eye, they were already accompanied by somebody else. She was far from giving up when she was pleasantly surprised by a tap on her shoulder. Luna turned around inquisitively, only to find a drop-dead-gorgeous man. His ebony hair had a windswept appearance, his face was pleasantly sunkissed, eyes dark as coal.

The stranger's voice was as smooth as dark chocolate, the sound almost as decadent. She gave him a mischievous grin. "Hmm… How about option three?" The pixie took a step closer to him, lavender eyes daring him to do something fun. "You found someone searching for a partner as striking as yourself." Yes, she left out the word dance, quite deliberately too.

Sometimes, however, it was better to play hard-to-catch, as some men loved a good chase. Luna wanted to test the waters, so she simply turned her back to him as she shrugged her shoulders. "But I don't know if you're the right guy for the job." The pixie glanced over her shoulder with a sly grin, large lashes half shading her eyes. "After all, I don't even know you." With her bait set, she began to walk towards a fragrant marzipan rosebush, grabbed a rose petal, and plopped it into her mouth. Will he bite? Or will he give up the chase?

Ah, what a sight! He nearly choked on his own breath as she turned, allowing him to lay his eyes upon her stunning beauty. Her hair was silvery, glittering like water beneath the brilliant full moon. And her dress—O’ her dress! It was sexy with it mostly covering her, yet hugging to show off her fine figure and exposing just the right amount of skin. He loved how it teased him!

But her eyes—full of trouble, playfulness. She looked at him with a knowing, promising gaze and grin—as if she was silently telling him “come play with me”.

He smirked at her reply, which only grew when she turned away from him. Deciding to play hard to get, now, was she? Too late—she already tossed him a bone. Why would she do that if she didn’t want him to give chase? She may very well be trouble, and not in a good way. But she already had him hooked, and he felt as a rare gem, she would be worth it.

Galen put his hands in his pockets as he followed her nonchalantly. “Perhaps,” he said smoothly. He, too, took a rose. But merely looked at it is if he’d taken a real flower from its bush. “But,” he pulled a single petal from it. “Isn’t that part of the fun?” He put the petal in his mouth in a slow, suggestive manner. His coal eyes gazed into hers—a silent way of telling her “take the leap. Play with me”.

While her eyes screamed at him to play, her stance showed mild interest as if she was looking for an excuse to pass him by. She watched as he nonchalantly plucked a rose from its marzipan and chocolate bush. Her gaze bore directly upon the handsome stranger as he plopped a petal into his mouth oh so slowly. Luna smirked at the suggestive tone. He was playing her game, made his silent dare. Now, it was her turn to make a move.

The pixie's hips swayed as she sauntered up to him, staring straight into those coal windows of his face. Hardly any space was between the strangers as a single dainty hand rose to steal a petal from his rose and placed it on her tongue. Luna then pulled the stranger in for a kiss to share said petal with him. She had plunged into the deep end, leaping into the unknown with this man. And it was exhilarating.

While she thoroughly enjoyed the kiss, she pulled back with a disappointed look. "Pitty." Lavender eyes closed with assumed shame as she sadly shook her head. "I had such high hopes, but if you're such a boring kisser… Maybe you don't have what it takes for my entertainment." Luna gave him a pitiful shrug. "Better luck with the next girl, handsome." She turned on her heel and began to head for a wine fountain.
