The streets of Sularia were abuzz with excitement far greater than ever before. Something extraordinary was taking place, an event that was unlike any other. He had learned of it through the chatter in the marketplace in the Afthonia Bazaar, and then he was approached by a curious little creature. It was some sort of weasel, wearing clothes and a little bag that was the perfect size for its body. To his surprise, it took out a crisp envelope and pushed it into his hand before scampering off to find someone else. Inside was an invitation that spoke to him in Ataiyan–a language he hadn't heard in a long time. Mircea was taken aback for a moment, but understood the reason why there had been an air of enthusiasm hanging in the air for days. A birthday party for the goddess Angela Rose was going to be held a short while from now. As the goddess was also the former queen of the Red Court, this was no ordinary affair. Finishing the business he had today, he hurried back to his home to tell Mielikki the good news.

The rain spirit spared no efforts for the big day, making new clothes for his flatmate while working on a gift to give Lady Angela. Hours flew by in a flurry of activity, and he hardly got any sleep. It wasn't because he worked himself too hard–rather it was because he was too excited to calm down. Brief evening showers would happen sporadically as he tossed and turned, his mind keeping itself awake. At last, the day came and Mircea carried Mielikki while the scroll painting he had poured his heart and soul into was tucked beneath his arm. After handing it over to the attendants at the door, he marveled at the attention to detail that was put into even the simplest of things. There certainly was powerful magic at work, as he quickly noticed the interior was far greater in dimension than how the building appeared from the exterior. As he wondered to himself how this had been set up in such a short amount of time, he momentarily took his eyes off his companion to admire the decorations on the ground floor.

He would soon regret this, as panic was the next emotion that shot through him when Mielikki was nowhere in sight. His anxiety came on two fronts: first–he was worried that she would get stepped on, and second–Mielikki had now been turned loose in a place positively bursting with edible objects. While even the most voracious of appetites might be momentarily whetted by the smorgasbord of food and drink, Mielikki's was more akin to a bottomless pit that seemed to know no bounds. And it was getting close to mealtime too.
