Never was Zerah one to go about to social gatherings and rub elbows with the elitists for quite a few reasons. One of them was being that he believed himself above having to suck up to anyone but it couldn't be helped once the offer became an order. Bradshaw could be very persuasive when his temper started to boil, and he didn't wish to be on the receiving in of his comrade. At least he wouldn't be the only one attending as Hamon was quickly voluntold to go along with him to make sure things ran smoothly, especially since he was the new recruit.

While the rookie had made sure to get dressed for the occasion as the music and constant chattering echoed through the ballroom, Zerah simply dressed in his formal, day-to-day wares: a long white coat and trousers, gloves and boots. Their signet, the sun with a sword going through it, was patched onto his coat's shoulders. It was clearly written on his face that the man didn't wish to be here from the moment he set foot into the center. Hamon laughed at him, even though he too felt out of place. He at least was willing to have some fun after a rough week of processing into the Order of the Sol Saints. “Come on now. Orders are orders and we still are on the clock.”

“Mayhaps, but I’d feel better on the battlefield more so.” Zerah shrugged as he watched the goers carry on with their merry ways. The battles had been fought and this among with several other reasons was why this bash was going on. Still, as a warrior, he winced at the very thought of being obsolete. Perhaps his junior thought otherwise, but he couldn’t think of another future for him if that ever came to fruition.

“Well, you can stand around like a lump, if you want, but I’m going to mingle”, Hamon snickered before walking away. His superior gave him a death stare, “Watch it, rookie.”

“Relax, you guys were the ones that came to seek me out, not the other way”, he replied, waving it off. With a heavy sigh, he took a moment before heading to the refreshments table and sat down with a glass of red wine, casually sipping at it as he counted mentally how long it would take before this was over and he could head back to the barracks.
