There was an unknown reason behind the nervousness that built up in her stomach. It twisted and knotted in on itself as she walked the familiar streets of Sularia to the festival area. Akira ignored the click of the heels with each step, for if she did listen to them, it would feel like she was walking towards an unshakable sense of doom. The year had been difficult and hard, so much happening yet she had nothing to show for her efforts as of late. Very few new friends, and even less visiting old ones. Would she see some of her friends here at the ball, would she smile and allow this feeling to melt into the night like a forgotten dream?
Despite thinking of people like Attie, Akira's mind kept drifting to Hoja Mesto and the boys. How many times had she gone there, only to find the one person she kept hoping to find not there? She missed him, and it hurt. Lewis wouldn't be here for this celebration. He was a thief, an assassin, distant to most everyone else. Yet she was always so happy to see him, making everything else seem so small and unimportant when he was standing nearby.
Even so, her heart was heavy as she approached the jovial party, the music unable to reach her spirit. Idly, the young teen walked the edge of the lit dancers, the flickering candles giving them a soft glow. Her eyes drifted over the smiling faces, recognizing many of them as Sularia citizens. Akira slowly made her way over to a rest area, where she sat, smoothing out the icy blue tulle skirts. The silk bodice hugged her skin comfortably, accentuating her growing curves, covered by a white snowflake lace from her waist to her neck. Though the bodice was a low back, the lace allowed her shoulders and arms to be completely free, her tail tucked neatly under the skirts. Akira had lightly bound it to one of her legs, to prevent her subconscious movements of the tail. Celeste had done her hair up as a simple fox tail, glistening with little crystals. While she should be happy, Akira could not help but feel she got dolled up for no reason.
