Kaiser, slightly dazed, turned around to face Nerezza. The time had been blissfully spent and before long, he knew that he had to go deal with some business his family dealt with. It wasn’t something he enjoyed and knew it would be for a few days, but it had to be done. “Yes, darling. It won’t be for too long. I promise.” He gave her a tender kiss before he drifted to sleep, hoping that this venture would be done as quick as possible for their sake, as well as her brother’s. He knew what mayhem may occur since he was departing and that Lucian would be driven off the walls by his twin. “Just don’t overdo it. We still need your brother sane enough to keep his rule”, he jested before sleep finally took him.

Lucian’s morning had been calm and quiet for the most part, attendance with some of the traders of nearby villages, a light breakfast, and an outing with Episcia. At the time, he had been in the great hall, checking over some paperwork when Nerezza came about. The moment he heard that ridiculous childhood nickname, he immediately groaned just as she caught onto him. “Damn, Kaiser’s gone…” Of course, he would forget that his brother-in-law had some business to attend to, leaving his wife bored and there was one thing she loved to do- annoy the holy crap out of him.

“Miss me? You saw me yesterday!”, he snapped back. “Don’ you anything better to do than to get on my nerves?” Normally this is the part where she would retort with some smart-aleck remark but the tears were entirely something new for her, to the point where his frustrations died down and his confusion arose. And then the wailing.

“The hell is wrong with you?” He looked uncomfortable as she kept on going and Aelwen wasn’t making things better. “Can it”, he answered his older sister before sighing and patting Nerezza’s back. This was all too strange and it didn’t seem like one of her typical ploys. “Hey now, what’s that for? I don’t hate you. You know that.”

The last few hours had been filled with a type of passion that only came when she knew her husband would be away on business. “Are you sure you have to go?” She was clinging to him and kissing his neck. Her gold eyes peeked up at him. Now was about the only time when Kaiser could see Nerezza for who she really was. She was mature and dutiful wife. To most she was always annoying her brother but it was a facade and something her mother and father called her out on many times.

He would be leaving for a few weeks and it was during that weeks that Nerezza would be causing her brother a great torment.

The next morning she hummed and made her way from her own glorious house to the Red Court Manor. The house had been built with her in mind. Kaiser had given her only the best and it showed from how she dressed to how she carried herself. She was a lady of the court… That was until she saw her only twin brother. “LUCY!” She flung herself onto him. “I’ve missed you!” She put her face into his and rubbed them together.

However, like always Lucian yelled at her but instead of dealing with it with laughter this time she just flat out cried. She was a sobbing mess over him as she wouldn’t let go. “You hate me.” Her cries were loud as tears came from her eyes. The sobbing started after that.

“You broke her… Way to go little brother.” Aelwen stared from the doorway. “Better fix it before Raeguel sees…”
