Despite everything that had happened, her attempts at humor did manage to make the Keeper smile slightly.
"I've had holes in the chest before… there is a reason I try to avoid them," he said.
"If I look like shit, imagine what you look like, Love," Drae chuckled softly. He pushed the loose fabric of his shirt aside, showing Angela the matching wound on his chest, blue and purple veins spread out from the wound, indicating the magical nature of it.
"It was the only way to save you," he explained softly. "I transferred your injury to myself until your powers were able to kick in and start the healing process. I sacrificed the strength of my bear to keep you alive."
He shifted so that he was propped up on his elbow. "Don't worry, it isn't permanent. The bear's strength will return at Hebheka."

Angela nuzzled her face against his and did all she could not to move too much. “This time really did a number on me.” There was a sense of humor. “I thought being a child for a few weeks was a pain in the ass… A hole in the chest is much worse.”
Her green eyes closed against and she put her head against his shoulder. His scent was comforting and she found herself relaxing a bit more.
Though after a few moments the goddess pulled herself up with a grunt and took a good look at him. “You know you look like shit.” There was a laugh from her before she held her chest from pain flooding her. "Seriously, have you not been sleeping? Look at you… You are a mess."

Iris opened her mouth to respond, but as she did, there was a slight gust of wind and Drae appeared in the room. He looked about as dead as Angela, and Iris felt all the anxiety leave her like and exhale as her master smiled softly at Lady Angela. Drae lightly put his hand on Iris' cheek draining his emotions from her.
"Go rest," he said gently. Iris nodded and released Angela's hand before she slipped off the chair and left them alone in the room. Drae dragged himself up onto the bed and curled himself around Angela's form, cuddling close to her, conforming to her shape as he clung to her as if he were afraid she would slip away again. His silver eyes were dull, the stormy grey that they had been when she had first met him as a mortal.
He didn't have any words to say. He just need to be close to her.

Angela’s hand gripped back for the first time since she had been stabbed. Finally, the stability was back as her green eyes slowly opened. They were tired and she couldn’t do much more than lay there to preserve what energy she had left.
“I’m sorry to have worried everyone. I didn’t notice before it was too late.” She had been far too focused on gloating about her child to Dalanesca and smiling towards Adraejen. It felt perfectly normal to do that and yet right now it seemed foolish.
“Just… Adraejen for now. I’m much too weak for my child to see just yet.” It took so long for her to speak and she did not have the energy to look at her child and tell her she had failed. “Let him know I’ve woken up now.”

A flood of tears cascaded down Iris' face as she heard the chimes and Angela's words. Again, she couldn't be sure if they were hers or her master's. She looked to Angela who lay on the bed and took her hand, in a way to comfort the Goddess, but hoping more that Lord Drae would feel the connection and know that she was still with them.
"It is. It is becoming stronger as you do, My Lady," Iris managed to get out as she wiped her ever-changing eyes. "We can feel you again. He can feel you again. Revaliir can feel your heartbeat again," the changeling reassured her, softly squeezing her hand.
"Wisteria can feel you too. She is here. She was brought to Serci's care. Shall I send for them?"

Like a heartbeat, she should pulse through the land.
From every living being’s heart to that of the tiniest grain of sand. Everything needed balance.
Like a breath, she brought the magic in and brought the magic back out. Like a never-ending whirlpool of magic in the chaos of her soul.
In her dreams, she sat under a rampaging waterfall as the water, cool and crisp, went over her. It was all she could do as she meditated and brought the balance back.
The waterfall in her mind was stained with blood and flowing from her own wounds. Still, they hadn’t healed fully but she had struggled to heal herself while Revaliir needed to be saved. Wisteria would come and she knew that. It was only a matter of time before she would lay her eyes on the child she and Adraejen bore into the world.
Iris would feel dizzy as a chiming noise came through her mind. It was a set of wind chimes that hung over the sanctuary that was the waterfall. The goddess sat motionless with her eyes closed.
“The world… Is it better?” There had been a flood of life coming back into the plants, animals, and most important people.

Everything was chaos. At least it felt like it was. Iris was still learning how to take control of her own emotions, and it was not common for Master Drae's feelings to overwhelm her. So when Angela had been harmed in the Conclave by Dalanesca, every emotion that Drae had not shown, was magnified one-hundred fold through his Avatar. Tar Eisalae had shook with the magical rage that escaped the Keeper through Iris. Anguish, terror, despair, rage, every negative emotion had come out through her. Anyone who had seen the Occulus would have thought it in peril of exploding as the magical storm created had blocked out the light of the sun.
When finally it had come to be under control, all Iris could do in the destructive aftermath was curl up on the charred floor and cry tears that she could not be sure were even hers.
So when word reached her, both through her connection to her Master, and through Magnus, Iris had immediately left Tar Eisalae to go and be of some help to Lady Angela at the Red Manor in Sularia. Her first order by her master: Remain by Angela's side and when she wake up, make certain that Serci is there with Wisteria.
She had no intention of failing Lord Drae. Iris sat upon a chair beside Angela's bed, her knees drawn to her chest and she rocked slightly, still trying to untangle the tumultuous feelings inside her. Her heart ached. That part she knew was Lord Drae. It ached something terrible.
