Jadira traced her fingertips along a brick wall of a building. This entire city was fascinating to her. It's society was a far cry from Adeluna or even many of the cities that she had visited. The place radiated with jewels in almost every stone and wealth seemed to be filled through every corner. Women were the man rulers of this society, which was a bit nice. However the thing that Jadira noticed the most was the emphasis on the children. Earlier, Jadira had seen a statue with a woman holding a child, and she had noticed that the majority of children in the city were carefully watched.
It made sense. This was a society where there was a clear imbalance of gender. Which meant that reproduction was far more difficult then it would be other places. Children then would be valued since they were so rare and needed for society. Jadira's hand reached up to her own hair and felt the braids that she had made earlier. Long black hair was exceptionally unhelpful, especially in such hot climates as this. So she had shoved all of it into a tight braid before she came to Arri. Her eyes were alert and took in everything around her.
If there was a library around that would be very useful for Jadira. She hoped there was a library. For now she decided to just wander around and enjoy her surroundings. Suddenly she found herself in the bazaar. Jadira did bring some supplies to trade in this city. Although she didn't know what was considered valuable, besides water obviously, in this city. Jadira had found many sky shards earlier and wondered if they would bring her anything interesting. She also had some shards of untainted dreams, leather, golden seashells, and a bit of coral. Jadira didn't think that the seashells or corals would be much use in a desert environment.
A kindly Rosenite merchant was able to explain what was considered valuable. The sky shards weren't that valuable since they had received a lot of sky shards. However, the golden seashells and coral were considered more valuable just because it was difficult to get such things. Jadira was able to get a sapphire and some amethysts. Here they weren't of much value since they had so many. But in other cities they were of larger value. She decided to hold onto the gems. After placing them in her bag, she continued on through the city. Eventually she made her way to the training area of the White District.
The first thing she noticed was the two people fighting with real swords. She noticed that there was a person leaned up against the fence. The person was a bug like being who appeared to take great interest in the fight. Jadira walked up next to her and leaned against the fence too. She watched the action. Jadira was also trying to think of something proper to say. Should she begin with a proper introduction? Or just start talking about the fight? Eventually Jadira decided to speak.
"Want to see if we can spare?" She asked Sharifa.
Of all the things she could have said, that was probably the worst. For all Jadira knew, this person may not even know how to fight let alone want to spare with her. Jadira's expression was calm and relaxed. Her entire demeanor seemed to be complete relaxation.

Another city to explore, and this was one that was rather unique so far compared to the rest. At least, its people were anyway. One thing stood out to Sharifa, most of the people were females, seemed there was a large tilt in the population towards females over males here, which didn't bother her in the slightest. It was just, interesting, to say the least.
On top of that, no one was staring at her that much, a glance, maybe a double take, now and then but that was all. It was like they had either seen her kind before or just didn't care, either way, after being stared at so much practically everywhere else, Sharifa was having a day of not having to wear the hood on her cloak. This allowed her to show her face, black eyes on a triangular face, not much of a nose and two antenna on the top of her head.
Her black skin on her head was covered in a some what thick down of black and gold with a little orange mixed in, and she had the same colouring around her neck in a mane. She stood six and half feet tall and stood out in the crowd, yet they still weren't looking at her that much, in fact some of them smiled to her like she was just another person.
Sharifa walked the bazaar for a little while eyeing the finely crafted works that some had to offer. These people, these people knew how to craft well by her standards anyway, the jewellery was beautiful, and she was of the mind that any people that could craft bobbles so well would likely make good weapons as well. As she walked the sound of fighting caught her ears and she headed in that direction, curious, and soon she came upon the training area of the White District of the city.
There were people grouped together practising with wooden swords, but what caught her attention most was the steel on steel sound she heard. Turning to follow it it wasn't too far until she found a fenced in area with two people sparring in it, and they were trying very hard and with real steel weapon, no wooden training toys. Sharifa smiled and found a place to lean against the fence to watch, intrigued at the sight, and wondering if anyone was able to enter to spar, she have to give it a try.
