Kyrel smiled and followed Cathrine’s lead as they went to the main castle. He was a tad nervous having to deal with so many royals at once. Especially when he had to get the approval of most, if not all of them. He was able to handle dealing with one, maybe two of them at a time; but five? This was going to be a challenge with all of them relatives and apparently their attitudes clashing.

One of which he had the luxury of encountering en route. He saw a strong looking blonde man manhandling a much smaller woman. A very crude woman at that. Kyrel kind of grimaced as he watched them go back and forth. “Now, now, a few hours won’t kill ya. Then afterwards, you can proceed in your damn gossiping about husbands and lovers and what may you…” Blaine groaned as he continued to fight with her to get inside. “A lively one, I see”, he whispered to the eldest sister. “Maybe if I’m lucky, she’ll want to agree with my plan so that she can get out.” He chuckled a bit at his joke before taking notice of the rest of them. “Angela…Lily…Toya and Kirika. Maybe I’ll have my work cut out for me…but I can pitch it.” His nerves would have to be steel right now.

Inside, Blaine stood by on the sidelines, and watched as the Queens got settled down into their seats as well as their new visitor.

Waiting for the festivities to die down, Kyrel moved to begin the meeting with all eyes on him. “Yes, I came here from Mamlak to propose the deal that I made to Cathrine yesterday. I am part of an agency there that collects and seeks out ancient artifacts. In any sense, we have acquired information of some ruins of a palace that is located in the desert. It is actually in Sularia’s territory and before we can start an expedition, I was sent here to gain your approval as we do not want wish to disrupt any future relations between our cities.” He undid some of the parchments and maps and showed them off while pointing the location of the palace, the estimated size, and some of the history they had reported. And then he explained the deal of offering an alliance, trading and whatever they would be able to find there.

“I do hope that you think well of our proposal and if you fear that anything may go wrong, then I’d like to request that Lady Cathrine come with me then. That way, she can foresee the expedition herself.” His eyes went immediately to her as the words left his mouth, knowing that she could likely use this as a way of setting her foot out of the city and explore.

“Don’t we all?” She chuckled just slightly at the empty stomach comment as she smiled towards his compliment. “No, not at all. Though I raised if you are going to appear in the Courts you should at least dress the part. Something my parents tried to teach all of us, some of us weren’t so lucky to learn it.” She had Toya’s face in her head as she made the comment.

The Purple Court Queen took his arm in hers as they made their way through the courts. “I DON’T WANT TO GO BE WITH THOSE STUCK UP BITCHES IN DRESSES. BLAINE YOU PUT ME DOWN RIGHT NOW,” Toya was slung over Blaine’s shoulder beating his back as he carried her towards the castle.

“Oh… and it begins.” Cathrine said it as if someone had died. “That is Toya, she is the youngest. My parents never got a chance to properly raise her and she is a tad wild… like the fire that runs through her veins.” The eldest chuckled a bit.

Strolling behind Blaine and Toya were Angela and Lily whispering to each other and laughing while they watched the show with their youngest sister. “The red head is my sister Angela and the blonde is my sister Lily.” Lagging behind them was the newest queen Kirika and she was more like a shy doe as she watched her aunt throw a tantrum. “That is my niece Kirika. She just became queen of the Black Court not that long ago. By far she is the best person to hold a conversation with when wanting it to be serious.”

Once inside the castle, the five queens took to their seats which were circular around each other. Toya was more plopped into her and she was sitting with her arms crossed glaring at everyone. Cathrine put a chair next to her for Kyrel. “Toya don’t look so miserable. You won’t die…” Cathrine chuckled.

“Blow me, you damn well know I don’t want anything to do with being queen.” Toya spat out as she glared at Angela.

“Well… The spirits seem to think otherwise so until your happy ass dies you better damn well like it,” Angela smirked at her as she leaned in the chair. “It would be boring without you. I think I’ll keep you alive forever.”

Cathrine rolled her eyes a bit and made a noise. “Attention savages, if you will please listen to the proposal that Master Kyrel has for us that would be wonderful.”

“Savage is a little harsh isn’t it sister?” Lily spoke up. “The only savage here is Toya.”

“I don’t know… Aunt Angela prods her enough to warrant being called a savage too…” Kirika spoke up with a laugh before making a motion at her aunt Cathrine to continue. “Sorry, you can say your proposal now Mister Kyrel. I am afraid that we’re all a tad wound up this morning.”

"I wanna be in my god damn bed." Toya was heard hissing out almost silently.

“Understandable. Even the finest of artifacts can’t compare to life’s most precious gifts. At least that’s what I’m told but I believe nonetheless.” He wouldn’t fault Cathrine for putting some of her passion elsewhere for the time being. Her children were important to her and Kyrel would respect that wholly. [“Hopefully once my expedition takes off, you’ll be able to add some of the items I found into your collection.”

At some point before his leave, he was sure that he would bump into her daughters since they were in and out constantly. He was a man of his word; both sides would benefit from his travel and would do his best to convince the other Queens to favor the idea like Cathrine did. It looked like he would be pulling a late night in getting himself prepared to present to them tomorrow.  Fortunately he had all his parchments and such; it was just a matter of getting his ideas together and organizing them properly. “I do wish to thank you for your hospitality. It won’t go unrecognized, I assure you, milady.” The food and wine were delicious, and he graciously took his fill of them both. “Then let us pray that I am allowed to seek out the ruins then.” He rose his glass at her before downing the last bit of the wine.

Kyrel thoroughly enjoyed Cathrine’s company throughout the night as they talked. He felt more and more at rest in her company and the time just flew by for him before she went to bed. He walked with her and waited until she retired into her chambers before he retreated to his own. “Good night…Cathrine “

He went to his stuff and unloaded the parchments and quills as he started to work for the next couple of hours before he went to bed and caught some sleep. When the morning came, he quickly got dressed in a dark blue shirt and trousers and was about to lace his boots when he heard the Queen’s voice. “I’ll be right out in a moment.” Once he was prepared, he gathered his things and came through the door. “Do not apologize. It’s fine- I work better on an empty stomach anyway.” He smiled and saw her appearance. “If you don’t mind me saying, you are rather dressed beautifully today. Is this a part of the customs or no.” Then it hit him that he was going to be around her sisters, who might as well be just as pretty as she was. He was getting slightly nervous over this, but his mettle would merely be tested by it. “I am ready whenever you are.”

Cathrine smiled at Kyrel as he commented on her collection. “I’ve been rather stationary since having my children, I will admit. I haven’t had a good adventure if only in fear that I would miss something that they did or accomplished. Even now that they are grown, they are my true treasures. I look forward to being able to dig up my own treasures once more. Most of what I have here I was able to bargain for.”

At the mention of her daughters, she simply smiled. “I am sure that they will enjoy meeting you as well. Crystaline adores new people and Liz is always curious.” It was funny that Liz reminded her more of a cat than a wolf but she let it slide for now.

“Whether it is or not, it still sounds promising. I might be able to accompany you to explore. That would be fun. Especially since the girls are out doing their own thing now and don’t require me to be around as much.” Cathrine ate her own food rather slowly and looked up with amusement when he commented on the food. “We do pride ourselves on the comforts one cannot find in the desert. I am glad that our home is proving to be nice for you.” The queen nodded her head.

“I have had my fair share of traps, I assure you.” She chuckled a bit more. “I just hope my sisters and niece are receptive of the idea. We will not know until tomorrow.” She poured them some wine. “From my sister Angela. She makes it herself.”

They continued talking about adventure and what they could find in this expedition well into the night. Once it was time to turn in she bid him good night and turned into her own chambers. They had a long day very early in the morning when it came to dealing with her sisters.

Once the morning was aroused she came out from her room in a light sundress and her white hair had been braided. “Lord Kyrel, if you are ready for the meeting we can go there now. I have received word that all of them will be there… Toya might be a tad unwilling but we did wake her up rather early.” Titles would be useful from here on, at least for some of the queens. “I am sorry that I cannot offer breakfast at the moment but as soon as the meeting is done I will treat you to the finest we have.”

He hadn’t meant to stare at her, and if he realized what he had done sooner, he would have beat himself up for it. But it wasn’t like he was openly looking to stare, but was caught off guard by the sudden change. Apologizes felt like they were in order, but he didn’t also want to insult her in some way by doing so. He was caught between a rock and a hard place for certain.

“I will admit, I was careless my lady. I had underestimated the distance of Arri from deep within the desert. Had I made the necessary corrections then I would have adjusted for the mistake and made it here unscathed” He was quite sure that it had been his own misjudgment that lead for him to be found by the others and onto Cathrine’s doorsteps. He was grateful though for her gracious hospitality. “I look forward to tasting dinner then. If the food is that great I would be a fool to refuse.” He humbly smiled as they continued their discussion. Kyrel watched as the courses were starting to be delivered their way and he sipped at his wine. For a place in the middle of the desert, he could taste the delicious berries they had grown in these parts. That alone stirred some fascination out of him as he downed the wine slowly as to not be rude. “Such things will not be overlooked again, I can assure you of that. But I will also look into what other dangers reside here as well.” He wouldn’t be as careless as he had and would make sure before he started the search that he looked up the natural dangers as well as the wildlife that could pose a problem. He may have not been the best fighter around, he could at least hold his own should push come to shove.

His eyes perked up as she confessed that she shared similar hobbits to his own, though he suspected that she was far better at it given her age and experiences. “I see. I did notice that you too have quite the collection. I will admit that I am more used to the rain-forests and caverns than the deserts. Why I even traveled underwater for some ruins that somehow found themselves there. Likely a land formation that had been swept in some terrible storm or flood eons ago.” Kyrel thanked the gods that he wasn’t the only person that had confused her home with the lives of an academy or historical site. “Aye, I recall that, and I do look forward to seeing your daughters and their suitors.” He did find it somewhat strange that she didn’t discuss her own suitor or husband. Though he was mannerly enough not to address such a thing to a lady like her.

“Fate can be fickle at times, and fair in others. I will accept that being the reason why I found you, or more so you found me.” He chuckled as he leaned back against his seat. The talk came down further into business and he watched her closely. From the sounds of it Cathrine seemed delighted about an alliance between their homelands, which was a blessing. It was just a matter of addressing the other queens from the sound of it and then surely he would have their blessing to explore the ruins. “I do promise that this is much of a benefit to you and yours as it is to mine.” He prepared his napkin against his lap as the food came to them. The different aromas filled the air and sated his growing appetite. He prepared to carve into the meat into slices before settling some onto his plate. From there, Kyrel cut them into smaller bits before tasting one and savored the juices and meat flowing into his mouth. “That is quite delicious.” He moved on to the vegetables and added them onto his platter. “Your home is a breath of fresh air in the midst of a desert, I can assure you of that. I do hope that if you all grant me permission, that you can accompany me to the ruins. A little adventure never hurts, as long as you don’t fall into booby traps of course.”

Cathrine wasn’t like that of her sisters Lily and Angela, she was much more composed. His staring made her feel a tad… uncomfortable for a moment. Maybe it was because unlike her sisters she did not value the beauty that came with their blood. Still, her stoic face and aura did not give way to this uncomfortable feeling. That was not what she wanted her guest to feel… She didn’t want him to feel bad about it either, it probably wasn’t his fault. Though it had been a very long time since she had a male in her company that was not her family.

“Than Sularia’s best will have to do. Can’t have a first time visitor of the oasis going without our best dishes. Some of them were created by my sister Angela… Though I have a feeling she learned a lot about cooking and spices during her time at the Academy here in Sularia. You can see the Academy from the balcony in the room I have given you.” Cathrine gestured innocently in the direction that the Academy was in.

She titled her head about his business and nodded a bit. “I see, Mamlak is a very good ally to us in the desert. They understand our pain on some level.” She waved her fork as she lifted the wine glass up and drank from it. She could taste the berries that her sister had used in this blend. Her eyes closed as she took in the taste completely. Placing the glass down she clicked her tongue a bit as if trying to get what else her sister may have used in this particular wine. However, she proved that she had been listening all along. “It is perhaps smart that you have come to us for such a thing… even if you wanted permission, the desert as you can tell is no place for those who don’t know how to navigate it or survive it. Dangerous things lurk in the red sands of Arri, Kyrel.”

She said it out of concern for him as she opened her green eyes and scanned him softly. “The desert is a harsh mistress… the Arri desert is perhaps even worse than that of the Harena.” There was a gentle warning from her mind as she played with the gold edged plate at her fingertips. “I am a historian myself… though I would not say amateur. I’ve lived for a very long time. I am the eldest of my sisters and can recall a quite a bit of our history by memory alone.” She gave him a smile. “And I adore treasure… Much of what you see in this house is something that I’ve uncovered or I have bartered for. My nephew mistook it for the academy when he first stepped in. You’ll probably meet him sometime soon if you stick around. He is courting my daughter Crystaline.”

She rested on raised hands as she thought about his proposal. “I would be quite interested in this alliance… Also finding this palace would do me good, I need to get out of this estate more than I do. I find myself more in books these days than in the field. You see, I am the head of trade in Sularia… Each sister is responsible for something. My responsibility is making sure the Academy keeps running and to organize trade routes with the rest of Revaliir. It is something of a miracle you ended up in my house and not the others’. Let’s call it fate shall we?”

Tilting her head she gave a smile before they were served their main course. “Please help yourself. I look forward to what my sisters and niece have to say about all this. Though if Toya gets a little rude with you I can always smack her upside the head. Maybe we’ll get lucky and she’ll skip out on us.” She chuckled a bit. Though what left her throat instead of her mind sounded more exhausted and not quite all there. It proved that her voice box wasn’t quite what it used to be. She cut the food delicately with her knife and tasted it. After chewing and swallowing she gave a smile and hummed a bit. “Delicious as always,” she directed towards her staff. “The choice to use my sister’s wine while cooking the meat was a good idea.”

Kyrel felt more comfortable in the Purple Queen’s home, especially now that he was fully dressed and clean. He had hoped that Cathrine would be decent and that he wasn’t completely intruding when she wanted privacy. Fortunately her calling out to him seemed to be prove that she was ready and he came in. He was about ready to ask her about the dinner, but he felt himself unable to speak for a few moments after looked at her. She looked vastly different than how she was earlier, not that she was any less stunning then. But her appearance really stood out to him and he after a few moments of staring, he realized what he was doing and tore himself away and tried to bring the conversation back. “Yes, I wouldn’t mind that at all. Shame that they couldn’t join us tonight.” He nodded swiftly before accompanying her to the dining hall. Like the rest of the manor, it looked estique and wonderful to his blue eyes. He couldn’t imagine how life could be in such a world like this. It was quite large yet it seemed too much for her from what he had briefly learned. But as a gentleman, he kept it amongst himself and joined her at the table.

“You are too kind, madam. Anything will be fine with me, not too much of a picky eater”, Kyrel chuckled slightly. The wine was ready for them and soon the food, but for now they would have to entertain themselves and Cathrine was straightforward with him. He respected that and told her what she wanted to hear. “I belong to the higher class of Mamlak, though much of our fortune comes from our trading and intelligence. The former leads to the latter as we are able to collect and gather artifacts of old and sell them off. The more valuable ones though are kept with us.” He took the glass and swirled it around a bit before tasting it. “My own hobbies reflect on that- I am an amatuer historian and treasure hunter myself. Sometimes I’d be away for days, weeks even months in looking for ruins and artifacts. Sadly though it hadn’t prepared me for the the desert here and it was nearly a grave mistake.”

He stared at Cathrine for what seemed like a little too long and shook his head before filling her in on the most important detail. “We wish not to intrude on your territories without permission, but there are rumors of a former grand palace that has been lost in this desert for some time. Buried beneath the sand for ages can do that, but the recent tales have been said that it has been unearthed enough to be ventured into. But it is also said to be quite dangerous but houses alluring treasures as well. I came here to see permission to come here to excavate but not for free, madam. We offer an alliance as well as being trade partners with you and yours too. A cut of what we find in the ruins is also offered if you wouldn’t mind offering some assistance to us.” It was a lot to take in and he hoped that she wasn’t offended with any part of the deal.

“I am Cathrine, Queen of the Purple Court.” She bowed her head to him as he introduced himself. He was polite and that was a first for people who had gotten lost in the desert and found by the people of Arri. Though he did have urgent business here so perhaps that was why his manners were in check. “A peaceful alliance with all of us? Have you never met Toya?” She chuckled a bit. “Think nothing of it. This is what the Purple Court is known for.” She waved her hand at him asking him to overlook it.

“I do appreciate it greatly,” she nodded and felt better about having him around. Her daughters would have nothing to fear from this man if he was truthful.

Cathrine moved to her own room after leaving him. She had only stayed long enough to answer him. “Yes,” she smiled. Soon she changed her own clothes. It was a loosely fit white dress with purple trim. The front cut down in a plunge but only enough to show off curves. It was a halter dress with the back also plunging for her wings not to be bothered by the fabric. She pinned her hair up and took a few moments to think about the last time she had, had a guest in her house.

“You may come in,” she mused before standing up at her vanity. “We’ll be having dinner with just us I am afraid. Crystalline is out with her cousins and Liz is adventuring in the wilds somewhere.” She frowned a bit thinking about it as she moved past him. “We can go down to the dining hall to eat.”

It was a rather impressive room. It was large for at least fifty people but it was just them as they sat down at one of the ends. She smiled as one of the housekeepers pulled her chair out and she sat down in it. “I did tell the cooks to surprise us… with something from Sularia. Hopefully, it is to your liking. We’re being served wine from my sister’s vineyard.

She watched as the wine was poured for both of them and she gave Kyrel a smile. “So tell me about your home, hobbies, and what it is your family hopes to accomplish by pairing with our courts.”

How did all of this happen again? Kryel was still a bit confused about the subject or how he got here in general but all that mattered was that he was save now. The woman that joined him now was absolutely stunning though he had to recollect himself and make sense of the senseless. She at least took some comfort at his display of getting himself ready and prepared. Things took a turn when she had told him, or more so projected to his mind of where he was and who she was. “Which are you, if I may be so bold to ask, madam?” He had finally started to work on getting the buttons of his shirt together as she addressed him. “Kyrel of the House Daskev.” He finished getting redressed and did a swift bow before her. It was still rather hard to not see her as an angel of mercy for having helped saved him. “Yes, of course. I will have to see the rest of the queens with you. My house is among those that wish for a peaceful alliance with yours, my lady.” He managed a smile before trailing behind her as she lead him away to go and take care of himself. The wilderness had been most cruel to him and he couldn’t even remember the last time that he had a nice bath. “You are far too kind, Cathrine. I really do appreciate it and more.” He listened intensively about her children and was quick to agree to her terms. While he’d be a guest here, he didn’t wish to intrude into their lives too much and if he had to behavior and act accordingly while being the queen’s guest then he would do so and act as benevolent as possible.

“I will not scare or disrespect your daughters, you have my word.”

He followed until they reached the hallway and nodded at her request. “I shall find you afterwards?”, he asked curiously before turning to find the washroom. After some searching, Kyrel found the appropriate room and stripped down. The water was already poured into the basin and he sent the next few minutes bathing the dirt and grime away from his body. The soaps there helped to do so and give him a more cleansing feeling and smell. While he would have soaked into it a bit longer, he knew that there was some business to be had and he quickly took off and dried himself with the provided towels. A knock soon came at the door and when he opened it, all that was waiting for him was a clean set of clothes which he donned and got himself ready to go hunt her down. Remembering what she stated prior, Kyrel went down the hall and knocked on the door he presumed that was hers. “Lady Cathrine?”

Cathrine let a chuckle from her lips as she heard his words. “You aren’t dead just yet.” It was a grueling trip from the desert and he looked like he had been having the worse of it. Her voice rang through his head.

The Rosenite held out her arms and helped him steady himself as he got up from the bench. She tried to keep him from rising too fast but he was a stubborn one and it made her chuckle a bit more at him. She tilted her head and let her green eyes take him in. “Think nothing of it. The desert takes what it wants and I wouldn’t expect anyone to look their best coming from there.” She was musing now hearing the last of what he had to say.

“Mamlak?” She mused more. “You are already here… and in front of one.” Before long she was standing by him and there was a mischievous smile on her face. “I apologize for how I speak, an accident has left me mute. You’ll have to forgive the intrusion to your mind. I am Cathrine of the Purple Court. Though if you wish to have a relationship with Sularia I might have to have you meet all of us.” She mused once more.

“But for now… you have had a long trip. Wellness before business. If I treat you any other way Angela will have a fit at my hospitality.” She sighed a bit with agitation but neither the less she beckoned him to follow her. “You smell like sweat and sand… A bath might be in order and we can give you some fresh clothes so you don’t die out in the heat here. For now until the conclusion of your business… My home is your home.” She waved her hand around. “You might come across my children Elizabeth and Crystaline. If you end up in a room with Crystaline, my half angel, please make yourself known. She can’t see but Elizabeth will smell you a mile away.” She chuckled a bit more. “I just don’t wish to startle Crystaline.”

She led him up the stairs pass the massive bookshelves to a hallway of bedrooms. “There is a washroom not far from where you’ll be staying. It shouldn’t be hard to find. If you have any trouble just knock on a door and ask. My room will be across the hall but most rooms are empty I am afraid. You’ll learn the layout I’m sure.”

Kyrel was out like a flame that was overtaken by a hurricane. There were times when he went in and out of it- during the times he came to, he could feel himself being carried by someone, but to where he had no clue. Hopefully it was into the city he was just feet away from its gate. Certainly he was in safe hands, or at least that was Kyrel was hoping for. During one of his later episodes of regaining consciousness, he swore he heard talking but most of the words were lost to him save for a few. One of them that he was able to make out was “Queen”. Perhaps he had been saved after all, but he could do little in response before fading out once again.

It was a strange time for him as he felt himself under blinding lights that seared at his skin. It didn’t take long until he was able to recognize that he was in a heat stroke induced situation and that he wasn’t conscious, though the lights still felt unbearable. Shielding his face and body with hands and arms did little to mask it and for a while he felt as though he wouldn’t wake up. He kept cursing himself for being as ill prepared as he had been but then the light eased up and the heat turned into a warmth that was…comforting. Slowly he lowered his defenses and felt the brilliant light now shining down up him like a soft blanket. Breathing in and out, in and out, Kyrel closed his eyes and opened his arms to it just as he slowly awoken from his desert nap. As his eyes slowly rose and adjusted to the light around him, he saw what he thought was an angel over him. The taste of water down his throat felt so great and he gulped down the rest of it she was giving to him. “The gods, have mercy for me…are you their messager?”, he asked before he started to remember where he was, and what he was suppose to do here.

Slowly he lifted himself up from her, perhaps a little too fast as he nearly stumbled and fell onto the floor. “I am sorry, madam.” He was referring to how he was dressed in her presence. Surely it was appropriate when he was by himself in the heat of things, but in the company of a lady? He turned away and started to untie the shirt so that he could get it back onto him properly. While he was able to slid it back onto him, his fingers kept fumbling with the buttons, all the while he turned to face her with his face slightly red. “Didn’t mean for you to see me like that, though I thank you for saving my life.” Damn buttons, he thought to himself, still trying to get them done properly. “Mind telling me if I finally made it to Sularia, I am in need of meeting with one of their Queens. I have word from Mamlak in potentially establishing a relationship between the two.”

The desert life wasn’t made for everyone. It was a challenge and those who could raise to it became fabled legends in the oasis city. The desert life wasn’t for everyone but those who lived in Arri knew but a smidgen of the hard life the desert people lived. Arri was a vast place where even though the heat was there, there was water abundant for them.

The guards of Arri were moving about as usual. They did their rounds for a number of reasons. One of them happened to be that people tended to wind up dead in the desert or happen upon the oasis half dead. When they found his body they picked it up with ease and began to bring it into the city. They would take it to the closest queen there. The cobblestone turned a soft lilac color with dots of plum colors with it.

The house was large but nothing compared to the white stone castle in the distance. “Tell my queen that we’ve brought her a survivor of the desert.” The women placed him down on the bench. It took several long moments for a woman with a wind aura to pick him up. It was silent movement as she sat down on the bench and put him in her lap. She held his head up and gently fed him the water. She would stop so he wasn’t drinking it too much at a time and then she would start again. Her long white hair was flowing down and falling onto him.  Her fingers gently rubbed his hair on the back of his head.

She didn’t beckon for him to wake up with words but with her gentle green and red eyes that were so common in Sularia. So she sat there in silence and waited for him to wake up now as she fed him the water.

Crossing the desert wasn't something high on his list of things to do, however, a task was a task and it was one that paid handsomely at boot. Stiil, Kyrel wasn't a fan of the rising heat and dry air just yet. All alone, he had made this travel from Mamlak towards the nation of Arri, particularly aiming to reach Sularia before nightfall. He was sent to observe and find out more about the region and its leaders, something that struck him as rather odd, but he went along with it just the same when the amount offered to him was discussed. Apparently it was by a high ranking household that was nigh interested with their land. For him, it was more coin in his pocket, just as soon as he reached the blasted place.

It had been about two weeks since his journey and he was running out of supplies. While food was no issue since he had been creating it himself through magic, a fourth of his water remained, which was the biggest problem Kyrel faced. In time he could feel the effects of the desert heat affecting him, his body sweated until not a drop more could be squeezed out of him. His throat was getting very dry and the temptation grew more evident. If someone was to see him at this point, they would notice him wearing fine garbs yet his shirt had been removed and tied around his waist. He didn’t care much about looking pretty, especially if no one was around to notice anyway. The last thing he needed was to look pretty as he was being buried by either whoever found his remains or if he was left to be taken care of by the elements.

As he crossed through the land, he gave in to it and downed the last bits of water. When it ceased pouring out of the canteen, he smacked it a few times and sighed.

"Well, there goes that."

Looking up at the sun, it beat at him fiercely as though its purpose in life was to watch his downfall. Perhaps he had underestimated the extent of this travel and learned soon enough why his employers were so eager to throw as much money at him for doing this. Growling among himself, he ended up coughing due to his throat in pain as he continued walking a few more paces. Light blue eyes finally saw an establishment, hopefully the one he was looking for. It seemed like a paradise in the middle of an engulfing inferno of sand. A somewhat sigh of relief came over him as he barely made it to the gate before he slipped out of conscious.
