He shot Keira a narrowing look as the thought how how her parents met came to be. “Aye, I know. But your mother’s not getting any younger, though she is purely that at heart. It’s one of the reasons why I love and dislike about her equally.” Weaving the next piece together, Blaine took the pipe out and blew out the smoke, facing away from her to not have her breath it in. As much as he could complain about Toya jumping off flying creatures, she could at least survive the fall with much less injuries than Torn could. Besides he needed to be in one piece for her and the twins. “Yeah, well just what the family needed more of, thrill seekers and enablers…I love your mother to death, by sometimes she doesn’t have the sense a cockatoo has. My only hope for you and your siblings is that you all have my common sense, since we know who y’all looks come from.” They made some beautiful children, though that credit was likely more so Toya’s than his.

“Funny what things you can learn from the world, the trades you can pick up that might seem useless now but may become invaluable to you in the future. Hadn’t learned of this until a few years before I met your mother, I was still fresh behind the ears when it came to my profession when I was taught it. Thought it was a waste of time, me being pigheaded and all. Can thank your mama for inspiring me into this again.” Blaine set down his work and turn to look at her belly once more. A small smile stirred as he learned of what Keira was carrying, though he still hadn’t quite planned on being called ‘Grandfather’ just yet. Oh he could curse his luck at the gods for making him realize how much of an old dog he was becoming. And it hadn’t been too long ago that he said something similar about Toya too. The part about her babies’ father being attacked cause him to raise a brow. “Don’t think I’ve ever heard of that. Then again I don’t mess with those sort of things or even get close enough to. And unfortunately stress is going to occur after the twins are born and it will be ugly, I can guarantee it. You and your sister were quite the handful, but that was because there were two of you at the same time. Jayden kinda helped me to prepare, but y’all won’t have that luxury since they will be your first. Let me know when he gets overboard from it, I can give you some of these ropes to bound him. They’ll buy you some time of quietness, well at least from him”, he chuckled.

Kite and Tempest were certainly interesting names to pick, and she was correct- Rosenite names were practically all over the place, though to his knowledge most of them were named after plants and such. His children seemed to had broken that mold though, so he wasn’t fully surprised to hear his grandchildren’s names. He gave a simple nod and then almost laughed at his daughter when the babes kicked inside her. “Perhaps she had, but I doubt it. They have your spunk, Keira. I can tell.”

When she drew his hand over to her belly, he could have sworn he felt those little rascals moving and it brought on an even bigger smile across his face. Those little pups would likely be smothered with love and affection by all once they arrived, and he was no exception to it. “They will be, and I know that you probably want them out soon too.” Blaine was then nearly speechless at her request and went and kissed her on the forehead. “Of course I will be there for them. I’ll admit that when I first heard about all this, it took some time to grasp what happened but they are a part of you, and you are of me. And heaven knows they will need guidance from us sensible people. “ The lycan looked at his daughter, recalling once a upon a time that she had been a pup herself. Hell, it felt like yesterday that he was holding his twin daughters in either arm and now they were growing up. All his children were right before his eyes. “Dammit, you all know how to make a man feel old”, he chuckled softly. “I can oversee their turning. The first time is always the roughest.”

Keira laughed a bit and shook her head. “It is how you two met. I’m sure mom will be fine, as long as she doesn’t leap from tall places. Well, okay maybe the pegasus was taking it a bit too far. I scolded Torn about it already though he says he wanted to do it and Ma did it first. Though if he would have done it he would have broken all his bones, so in a way I am thankful.” She chuckled again and tried to keep her nervous tone down. “They have a lot in common. At least with the reckless streaks.”

She pulled a stool over and sat on it and watched her father weave the rope. “You are getting really good at that.” She put her hands over her bump and smiled. “We found out that we’re having a boy and a girl. Auntie dropped it on us over breakfast after Torn got… I want to say attacked by a Muse but he actually inherited a Muse’s ability. If I could get him not to sing when he’s stressed out we would be golden.” She teased softly.

“So we decided on Kite and Tempest for names. We had a lot picked out and Torn wanted something that could go into poetry. We figured Kite and Tempest would make lovely names and we all know Rosenites don’t have the most common names ever, at least for the most part.” The babes kicked and Keira visibly jumped. “That I'm not used to. They’ve been moving a lot more since Auntie told us what they were. I think she did it.”

She reached over and took her father’s hand. She let him feel the twins and smiled. “They will be here eventually. I want you to be there to hold them. They need someone sane to watch them with Torn and Ma around.” She chuckled more. “And someone to teach them how to shift and run with the wind. Just like how you taught me.”

Blaine was at work, carefully crafting the sturdiest rope he could muster. It had been some time after he had the pleasure of learning his wife’s recent shenanigans with diving off dragons. Again. And it was even worse that it came from her own big mouth as she bragged about it to him. Needless to say, her husband wasn’t too thrilled with the news and had been secretly plotting to keep her under wraps, literally. Weaving and tightening the material together, he removed the excess with a sharp dagger and burnt the ends with his pipe, lets some flames set onto it before snuffing them out.

The process had been done for some time now and he had several of them ready to bind Toya together- either to their bed or to her dragon to keep her from jumping. The wolf was in no mood to have to hear that something happened to her one day just because she felt it was “fun” to leap off them. Taking a couple of puffs, he tested the latest of his work through stretching it out to his liking before tossing it approvingly into the pile already ready.

Satisfied, he reached for his glass of Dragon Ale and downed it just as Keira came in. For a moment there he had been afraid it was her mother peeking in to see what he had been up to, not that it would have deterred him one bit though. “Aye, it’s a little present from her to me to keep her from diving high up in the sky. It’s her choice on where she wants to be bound to, her dragon or in her room.” Blaine didn’t care if it sounded kinky to Toya, she would know that it was no laughing matter once she was unable to do it anymore. Seeing her baby bump only reminded him that the time for her twins would be arriving at some point soon.

At the moment he tolerated her lover, though he still wasn’t too sure what to make of the lad. The fact that he reminded the lycan of his younger days didn’t exactly bring any comfort, though he was good at hiding his feelings away thanks to his former profession. Weaving at the next piece of his arsenal, he watched his daughter with care. “Might as well be sitting down to tell me. In your condition, it's not good to be standing for too long. Found that out with your mother the hard way back when she was carrying your brother. So, what’s the news about them?”

Keira had just found out she was going to have both a boy and a girl. She was ecstatic so the first person besides Torn she wanted to tell was the other most important man in her life. She walked around the manor with a breezy dress on. It was light but it showed her baby belly quite nicely, she was growing fond of it when she wasn’t getting sick from magic.

Talking to different members of the house she finally found out that her father was in a workshop like area. It didn’t shock her overly too much anyways. When she opened up the door she made herself sound cheerful. “Daddy, it’s not like you to stay–” She paused as she looked at him binding ropes together and preparing for some type of warfare.

“What are you doing? And is that for Mom?” Her smile cracked a bit as she remembered what Torn had told her. “I have good news about the babies.” She tried to distract him from possibly strangling her mother.
