He shot Keira a narrowing look as the thought how how her parents met came to be. “Aye, I know. But your mother’s not getting any younger, though she is purely that at heart. It’s one of the reasons why I love and dislike about her equally.” Weaving the next piece together, Blaine took the pipe out and blew out the smoke, facing away from her to not have her breath it in. As much as he could complain about Toya jumping off flying creatures, she could at least survive the fall with much less injuries than Torn could. Besides he needed to be in one piece for her and the twins. “Yeah, well just what the family needed more of, thrill seekers and enablers…I love your mother to death, by sometimes she doesn’t have the sense a cockatoo has. My only hope for you and your siblings is that you all have my common sense, since we know who y’all looks come from.” They made some beautiful children, though that credit was likely more so Toya’s than his.
“Funny what things you can learn from the world, the trades you can pick up that might seem useless now but may become invaluable to you in the future. Hadn’t learned of this until a few years before I met your mother, I was still fresh behind the ears when it came to my profession when I was taught it. Thought it was a waste of time, me being pigheaded and all. Can thank your mama for inspiring me into this again.” Blaine set down his work and turn to look at her belly once more. A small smile stirred as he learned of what Keira was carrying, though he still hadn’t quite planned on being called ‘Grandfather’ just yet. Oh he could curse his luck at the gods for making him realize how much of an old dog he was becoming. And it hadn’t been too long ago that he said something similar about Toya too. The part about her babies’ father being attacked cause him to raise a brow. “Don’t think I’ve ever heard of that. Then again I don’t mess with those sort of things or even get close enough to. And unfortunately stress is going to occur after the twins are born and it will be ugly, I can guarantee it. You and your sister were quite the handful, but that was because there were two of you at the same time. Jayden kinda helped me to prepare, but y’all won’t have that luxury since they will be your first. Let me know when he gets overboard from it, I can give you some of these ropes to bound him. They’ll buy you some time of quietness, well at least from him”, he chuckled.
Kite and Tempest were certainly interesting names to pick, and she was correct- Rosenite names were practically all over the place, though to his knowledge most of them were named after plants and such. His children seemed to had broken that mold though, so he wasn’t fully surprised to hear his grandchildren’s names. He gave a simple nod and then almost laughed at his daughter when the babes kicked inside her. “Perhaps she had, but I doubt it. They have your spunk, Keira. I can tell.”
When she drew his hand over to her belly, he could have sworn he felt those little rascals moving and it brought on an even bigger smile across his face. Those little pups would likely be smothered with love and affection by all once they arrived, and he was no exception to it. “They will be, and I know that you probably want them out soon too.” Blaine was then nearly speechless at her request and went and kissed her on the forehead. “Of course I will be there for them. I’ll admit that when I first heard about all this, it took some time to grasp what happened but they are a part of you, and you are of me. And heaven knows they will need guidance from us sensible people. “ The lycan looked at his daughter, recalling once a upon a time that she had been a pup herself. Hell, it felt like yesterday that he was holding his twin daughters in either arm and now they were growing up. All his children were right before his eyes. “Dammit, you all know how to make a man feel old”, he chuckled softly. “I can oversee their turning. The first time is always the roughest.”
