The island of Horae, located South-East of Sularia has been blessed with a generous wind that brought riches to the land, the 'Golden Wind' some people have called it. Cedric, after exhausting his resources on an expedition, has arrived at the island, seeking to re-stock. The word spread fast, people were trampling over one another just to have a small profit.

As he stepped foot on the island, the glitter of silver reflected from the bright sun, as the riches began to rain. Cedric stumbled to collect as much as he can before he almost tripped over something buried beneath the ground. The silver was scattered until the earth could no longer be seen, but Cedric continued to dig. He held the object tightly and began to pull as hard as he could.

At last, the object let loose, revealing itself to Cedric. It was an emblem of sorts, the smiling face of a devil, the emblem appeared to be made of bronze. Cedric could have sworn he saw this symbol somewhere, he was not quite sure where or when. He could not stay still, he needed a secluded place to investigate this emblem. The object was mysterious, the devil's smile looked malevolent.

A few hours later, most people have already went home to spend or save up the riches they acquired, but Cedric remained, he sat under a large tree, examining every detail. He took out a leather book, a journal, and flipped through the pages, until he found what he was looking for. He had folded the scroll he had found in Tyr from when he fought a devious hag necromancer and slipped it between the pages of his father's journal.

According to his father's journal, the emblem was used for something called an equivalent exchange, the user surrendering something in order to gain something of equal value, one could mistake this for a joke, but nothing in his father's journal was a joke. As he put the pieces together in his mind, he realized this emblem is more meaningful than Cedric thought, holding power beyond even a demon. This emblem had one use per person, disallowing anyone from abusing this artifact. The wind carried the emblem from Tyr to Horae, the emblem was a treasure, sure, but a different kind.

He unfolded the scroll carefully, and he was met with the same symbol drawn with blood, the necromancer attempted to sacrifice Cedric and another companion for more power, it finally made sense, he began to stand up, having finished regaining what he lost in the expedition with a little more to spare, he could finally conduct research on the emblem, could this be the answer to Cedric's dilemma? The thought danced around in Cedric's head as he walked through the land bathed in the golden light of dusk.

… He then heard a voice call him out.

What did the person want? The voice sounded demanding, he couldn't possibly want Cedric's riches, no.. He was there for something else..
