"Well, I'm here now. Wait… where am I exactly?" The small fae-like creature questioned herself. Opening the gate, the small creature stepped into the large labyrinth.
"Mm.. a bit dark in here… smell like death…" She huffed. As she continued to half walk, half hop into the labyrinth as the gate closed behind her. She blinked a few times, before her eyes began to glow softly, turning on her thermal vision.
"Hm… nobodies in here?" She said to herself. She opened a bag attached to her waist, and pulled out a bitter orange, and began chewing on it to help her stay awake.
"Hm… now… do I turn left… or right… or go straight.. turn around?" She turned around, and shrugged, turning right.
"This would be easier if I had a few glow worms." She thought.
"I would even settle for a simple torch. But what did I buy? I bought a pair of boots. I can't even fit my paws in boots!" Even though she wasn't speaking, her face showed every emotion she was feeling.
"Sometimes I wish I had a pocket geminite. But that would be enslavement of my own kind, so that would be illegal." She kept hopping through the winding and twisting tunnels.
"What was I even looking for again… oh right! Glow worms. I think they like dark places. And they usually have some cool alchemy thingies you can do with them." As she continued to walk, she suddenly stumbled and fell to the ground, cutting her leg and twisting her ankle.
"Ouch…" She said, wincing.
"Ah… I need yarrow.." She said, looking through her collection of herbs.
Ah, dammit! Bandages! Of all the things I forgot to bring I had to forget Bandages!" She cursed under her breath. She pulled out a small olive branch inside a smaller glass vial, no bigger than her palm. She tapped the small plant, as its leaved moved.
"Hey, little guy… wakey wakey… She winced again, as she propped her ankle up on her knee.
"I Need a favor, little guy… She talked with the small olive branch, as it broke out of its small glass container, and wrapped around her ankle like a brace. She then entwined yarrow flowers through the twisting branch, and poured water over her cut.
"Its not pretty… but it should do." She said, and stood up, wincing a bit less than before.
"Ok.. lets stay off it for a while.." The silk-like fabric attached to her hips began to flutter, and lift off the ground. They fully stretched out behind her, and they looked like nothing more than flowing fabric, when instead they were a special type of fae wings, that only geminites have the ability to fully grow. She pulled out a headress made from hand-sewn fairy wings, and placed it upon her head.
As the fabric waved slowly waved like it was under water, the wings on her headress began to flutter, and she was lifted from the ground. She moved forward slowly, then began to pick up speed until she was at a walking pace.
"Don't go to fast, don't want to waste my gems energy on just flying.. there is no sunlight here." The gem on her forehead had also began to glow when she started flying. Geminites gems are powered by sunlight, and without sunlight, they don't have anything they can turn into magikal abilities. She continued to turn corners, before her gems power gave out.
"No, no, no!! Just a little bit farther! I can see a glow worm!!!" She said, before her wings fell limp, and her headress turned to sand… She fell and hit the ground, her gem beginning to loose its color, and fade into a gray. When a geminites gem turns gray, its usually a bad sign. It means that the stone was using its holders physical and mental strength to sustain itself. But with no physical strength left in the holder, the gem goes into a state of hibernation, and leaves the holder paralyzed until they can reach sunlight again.
"Dammit…" She muttered under her breath.
"Well, it can't get worse than this!" She said, trying to keep a confidant look on her face. Then, all of the sudden, her vision restored back to black and white instead of thermal, and the glow worm disappeared, leaving her in complete darkness.
"….or it can…" She said, using the last of her strength to curl into a ball, and produce thin pieces of thread, and weave them around her body, to form a glowing blue cocoon.
