As Raith made his way up the stairs of the Watchtower, he reflected on his beloved Alairia, the Observatory had been designed with her in mind. He had wanted to keep her safe, as well as happy, in their new home. He was acutely aware that she was still young, especially for an Elf, and that she had always been with her family. While his own family didn’t mean much to him, Alairia’s were her world, and he worried silently, that she would miss them and wish to return to their fold, rather than stay here by his side.
He loved her, he wasn’t afraid to admit that, though he knew he didn’t deserve her love whatsoever. He would do whatever it took to make her happy, for as long as he could, while remaining true to who he was.
A niggling thought returned to the back of his mind, about her sight. While he enjoyed teaching her to use her senses, as he did, and it was intimate in ways other activities could never compare, he hated that she had lost that sense. He had never had it, therefore he could not miss it, but she could. While her blindness had brought them closer, in its way, he knew he needed to do what he could to restore her eyesight, so that she could be truly independent again, and see the world that he had built for her.
Any worries he had, vanished at the mere sound of her voice, and he smiled softly. ”Well as long as they’re happy, and more importantly as long as you are,” he chuckled, sliding onto the bed next to her, so that her could pull her against his chest, drinking in her scent. ”My dream, as you say, but not your own. Though I hope I can make it yours, in any way that I can, and make the Observatory a place you want to call home, not just because we live here but because it calls to your heart,” he said softly, kissing her forehead. Raith was always much softer with his lover, to see him with Ria was to see a new side to him, one that very few did not know at all.
He snorted. ”Of course I am, you know me, I’ve always known my own worth, it’s just irritating that it’s taken the rest of the world so long to catch up,” the sad thing was, you could hear the sincerity in his tone… he really meant those words. ”Ria, I’ve been thinking… I think I might have the strength to restore your eyesight, now I’m Divine. I wouldn’t want to rush the process, but I could accelerate the healing, if you’ll let me.”
