She walked through the forest, making her way to Zanar’s temple. It had been quite some since they last met, and after hearing the other champions speaking of their own deities she realized just how little she knew of her own. It made her feel guilty and ashamed. How could she be a champion if she was hardly around, and knew so little of Zanar? Naturally, she wanted to change that, and so here she is.

Kohaku followed at her side in his kitsune form, but wearing his elf-styled clothing with his two katanas instead of his kimono, hair held in a high and messy ponytail. But they weren’t alone. Another followed at a distance, his eyes ever watchful of Nelanna. She could feel his disdain for their sudden and unexpected connection. They had run into each other a while back a couple of times, and only recently she had learned that he was the dragon that had poisoned her in the mines with Sirona. He explained how, instead of killing her, for some reason the mana in his venom bonded with hers, making him her familiar. And he made it very clear how he felt about having a Master. She still didn’t know why he hated being her familiar so much, and he always responded with anger whenever she tried asking, earning him a scolding from Kohaku that eventually began an argument. Nelanna sighed, wondering what it was she had done to get on Ensarrian’s bad side.

Why he had decided to come along with her and Kohaku on this trip was also unknown to Nelanna. However, she didn’t mind. Actually, she was hoping that they could use this time to bond, or at least learn a little more about each other.

After she opened the gates, Nelanna could feel Ensarrian’s sudden curiosity as they entered the temple grounds, however faint the feeling was. She guided her two familiars slowly, making sure Ensarrian had time to examine their surroundings. Soon enough they made it to the flight of stairs that led to the door to the main building. She stopped at the bottom step, gazing up at the door with a ghostly smile. The memories of how she became the Warden of the Wilds returned to her, filling her heart with joy, yet, there was a hint of sadness. She had been gone so long…

Shaking her head to toss her sadness aside, she continued onward and into the building.
