The scorching sun had set over the desert horizon and the gates to the city collapsed. The city’s guard mobilized hastily with one clear objective in mind: Prevent the invaders from entering deeper into the city. As the bandits poured in, the guards quickly formed a phalanx formation, the archers provided aerial support. The bandits, on the other hand, were poorly coordinated, but well armed, equipped with siege engines and beasts, they rained boulders down upon the desert city, and the beasts to provide more ground support.

Asurael, wanting to partake in battle, tore through the enemy lines and used his strength to destroy the trebuchets, the siege engines collapsed onto the wall and buildings, leveling them all causing casualties of innocent lives and allowing the invaders more openings to enter in from, soon after, the invaders would corner the remaining forces, unable to call for support. Asurael, under the effect of his sin of Pride, was blind to the destruction and death he caused as well as unknowingly giving the enemy an advantage.

With the loss of the siege engines, all that remained were the ground forces, which were still plentiful and able to overwhelm the guards. He remained in his prideful state, blindly killing anyone who dared raise a sword against him, oblivious to the fact that he has angered some who shouldn’t be angered.
