There was excitement in the air, Ridgewell could feel that on his own. Impending doom and apocalyptic skies tend to do that on the mortal plane, he supposed. The thing was, Ridgewell couldn't tell if he was excited. He followed the bouncing steps of his eager master as they passed through the teleportation magic of the Sihajja statues. He was hoping the passing-over-large-spaces-through-magic would get his blood boiling again, but as they passed through the jungle, and then gazing upon the crowd of people in the ancient ziggurat just made him more uneasy.
He followed behind Master Davenrow as they walked closer to the seven doors that were encircled about them. Ridgewell was hauling the two bags that held Master Davenrow's belongings and they would stop abruptly occasionally while Sirvius would obviously be pondering and daydreaming while he glanced at the jade and marble walls. Ridgewell knew he gave his master a hard time for the daydreams, curiosity, and pointless meanderings (he was a banker by heart after all) but it was one of the many things he greatly admired about his master as well as mortals in general. Their ability to think, invent, study, contemplate, and create held a soft spot in the demons heart. It was only when mortals took the curiosity and creation too far that the Hellcat would take advantage of their stupidity. Regardless, his master was eager to learn and consume as much experience as he could which impressed the butler. Still, it wouldn't stop him from sniffing impatiently as they wandered about without aim or destination in these symbolic halls of a last hope.
As he continued to ponder about the brief existence of life on this plane it was then he realized why he was so uncomfortable. If this calamity came to pass would it affect him? Surely not. Would it? Would his captivity to the Davenrow's bring him an untimely demise? Or would it end his servitude and send him back to purgatory? He was calculating these melancholy thoughts when excited statements from Sirvius brought him out of himself. He listened to his masters adventurous spirit and took one more glance at the mortals in this hall. Seeing all the fools who were sitting around and celebrating the conflict of hope and demise, or witnessing the "heroes" who would go through the 6 doors to experience said conflict, he responded…
Too be honest, sire, I am surprised at the state of *ahem* celebration for such a gloomy and dire circumstance. Not that I am unhappy, sire, It does my heart joy to see mortal sops running about and only finding comfort in drunken deliriums, unbridled passions, and the throwing away of precious money. All so they can feel somewhat alive a moment longer before their lost souls either continue on in their gluttonous states, or end abruptly and arrive in MY "hometown."At this point he turned back to his master while still holding the two bags, and gave him the biggest Cheshire grin he could muster, while his fiery eyes flashed with their own excitement.
So yes master, by all means, let us join them.

This certainly hadn't been the beginning to his grand adventure that he'd been planning but quite the beginning it was! Angela and Shiloh had appeared in the skies above Revaliir and had pleaded with the people to help heal the moons and reseal an ancient corruption, a better setup couldn't have been asked for. Sirvius had promptly collected his few things together, collected his hellcat butler, Ridgewell, and made for the nearest city. The statue, and encircling crowd for that matter, that Sirvius found had been in the form of the famed Sihajja, a moonstone whale with reef city on it's back cresting a jade wave. The consequent teleportation to Sihajja in life size had been a little unnerving and slightly nauseating but nothing that Sirvius hadn't been used to before, something having to do with his natural magic interacting with/rejecting an outside force acting on it. Honestly Sirvius hadn't paid much attention to the study of his own biology, there was nothing more boring than something that you lived with everyday and he was with himself every moment since birth. Sirvius shook his head, he was daydreaming again and right before a quest bestowed by gods themselves! Ridgewell certainly wouldn't approve and Sirvius was quick to stifle any chance of there being anymore daydreams. The path toward the ziggurat though made it difficult to keep from thinking of anything else, it was completely submerged under water, several hundred feet under water for that matter. If it had been in a cave or an old temple in the jungle somewhere there wouldn't have been a problem, hell it could've been raining even or had a large river running out of the mouth of the cave but it had to be at the bottom of the ocean. There was something about all that water over his head that made Sirvius nervous, it was a long way to the top and water wasn't necessarily the nicest solvent.
There were large groups of people wandering about the inside of the ziggurat, most of them were focused around the many doors arrayed around the walls. Some of the people were obviously in a support role, providing food and water and words of encouragement to those who would stagger out of one of the many doors. Sirvius stood just inside the entrance with his arms stretched out and his wrists resting comfortably on the top of the polished onyx of his walking cane,
"Well Ridgewell, it seems quite the affair doesn't it? I guess I should've expected this level of attendance given such a general invitation. Though I thought maybe we'd be some of the first but it seems we're in the middle of the festivities!" Sirvius laughed to himself, world altering events such as this were a prime opportunity to earn fantastic loot and learn some amazing magic. Sirvius would be lying to himself if he'd said he wasn't excited, nervous yes, but excited nonetheless. Sirvius slapped Ridgewell's right shoulder a few times,
"Shall we join them my friend? It does look like we will be engaged for some time and the entertainment is sure to be spectacularly riveting!"
