All the power in the world they had. They could crush armies with a bat of an eye, demolish cities with but a wave of their hand. Worshiped and loved by countless people and they simply just had to exist. Being a god sounded like a lovely concept in his eyes. But he pondered if there were any drawbacks to it. Surely they would outlast their loved ones, and though that would normally pain someone, Gabriel was really without family. Well, that wasn’t completely true, but he did sometimes wonder how on earth was he and his sister from the same parents? Gabe shook the thought from his mind; he couldn’t afford to be distracted, especially not in front of his gracious hostess. Trees and voices made for interesting lessons to learn, but it felt like it would all go over his head even if Angela was good at explanations. Still, he wouldn’t have minded to at least hear about it. “Good spot to hide it in. I’d imagine that prying eyes would be the last thing it needs.” A clever look came across his face as a finger moved beneath another fruit, only he left it hanging on its stem on the branch. It traced around it for a bit before pulling back. “What’s life if there is no excitement? Tomorrow isn’t promise to us mortals, but of course I am sure that you know that. I know that for the most part, people play out their dreary existence, but I’d prefer to take pleasure in what today brings. At least when I go, I will know that I have lived an interesting life.” It was a philosophy that he took to heart and was very passionate about. Why just exist when you could fully live? Sure there were some ups and downs, but for the most part he tried to find a way to enjoy each day. Right now, he was in the audience of a goddess; many couldn’t even claim to have been heard by one enough to be paid attention. When Angela mentioned that she had wine, his ears perked up almost like a happy little dog. As much as he was passionate about living, he was equally pleased with that of a drink or two. Especially a free one.“How can I say no to that? I wouldn’t mind accompanying you if that’s what you wish”, Gabriel accepted as he waited to follow her through the archway.

"That is the purpose of this world. To fulfill the needs of man and woman. In the times of great calamity when the earth runs dry and Revaliir can not grow their own food they may come here and reap the harvests that grow forever. The lands here are forever fertile where man can never go hungry."
She had not missed the curious look so she moved and held her hands infront of her. "The World Tree hides in a realm where only the Gods can go. It is in a wide spacious garden where the table of the gods are. It's where we meet when things need to be discussed. Maybe someday you might be honored enough to be aquianted with the Voice."
"Curiosity is a strong thing to wander on. It is also a dangerous thing if not weary." She watched him wipe his face before thinking about how to answer him. "It's not by oath… Nothing really that spoken. There are roles we must follow. I know that the Voice has the power to do whatever it is that it does. It can make us fall or can even kill us. So for the most part we behave. We all have our roles."
She smiled and bowed. "It is a pleasure Gabriel, I am Angela. This is my orchard, however, I do have wine I make myself within my temple if that is what you wish. All we must do is walk there. It isn't much farther from here." She held up her arm and pointed towards another arch.

Gabe had no idea of what was to come from venture onto the territory of another. Perhaps nothing would come of it and eventually he would get bored and move to a more interesting place. Or maybe the Goddess would be infuriated with his intrusion and curse him where he stood, or something like that. Either way, he was interested in seeing how this played out; after all- nothing ventured, nothing gained. He devoured the second piece of fruit much like the last one, savoring its sweet lip in his mouth. It reminded him so much of a pretty blonde girl he had came across one Ignius night. Oh they had plenty of fun with each other in secret, especially since she was to be wed in the following season. Even beneath her soon to be husband’s house they continued their tryst until eventually discovered and he abandoned her. Some would think it was because he wanted to save his own skin, and he would absolutely agree with that. He hadn’t seen the girl again, and he assumed the worse had happened. Pity. He was going to go for a third when he heard the woman’s voice and turned around and mid bite. Given her words and beauty, he assumed that she was the goddess and the aunt that the she wolf spoke of. Despite the desire to whistle in delight at her, Gabriel refrained and kept his composure. “I could only assume that to be the case. Much of this seemed a bit outworldly to me, almost as if one’s dreams have been fulfilled.” He shot her a curious look for she mentioned the World Tree. A scholar he was not, however, the gift of gab have reached him many a times and to his knowledge, one tree was dead and another was supposedly eroded from the world’s eyes. But perhaps just in the eyes of mortals, but he didn’t let such thinking bother him too much.“Curiosity, I suppose. That is what led me to these grounds, madam.” He quickly finished the fruit and wiped his mouth of any juices left over with his sleeve. “I figure that your kind is very fascinating. You have practically all the power in the world, and yet from my understanding, most of you do not wish to oppose yourselves to the rest of the world. I ponder if it has anything to do with the balance, of sorts anyway, or is it by some pledge or oath or something that has to do with a greater force? I am not student, just a person that hungers to understand the works of this realm”, he spoke with a bow. Ah, my manners. Gabriel.

"Hold still," Angela was brushing Iva's long red hair as she attempted to get a knot out. Iva was letting out horrific screams.
"CUT IT OUT. KILL ME. JUST STOP." Iva's screams made Angela's eyes roll. "Use your magic or something."
"Absolutely not, I am a mother and I can do this. I've been getting knots out of little girls' hairs for over one hundred years! Stop being a baby." She fixed Iva's head and continued to work on it. Finally she managed to get it free and Iva got up running as far away from the goddess and into Drae's arms in the other room.
"Mommy hurt me Drae. She got the knot out by being a big ol' meanie face."
"This big ol' meanie face can hear you!" Angela put a hand to her face and moaned as she couldn't stand the obnxious child she created. "Can you see our child? Can you see how evil she is?" She whispered softly with a smile. "A daddy's girl thru and thru." Ever since Drae showed up it proved that to her.
Her senses wandered as she felt the new presence in her fields. She changed from her morning clothes into a lovely silk dress. It shaped her curves beautiful. Her red hair was let down and decorated with brilliant golden flowers through out it. Appearing before the man she chuckled. "Everything here extends from my powers. The grass, the skies, the little bugs that lit your way here." She reached her hand up and grabbed a fruit. "Everything here is created by the magic gifted to me by the World Tree."
Her eyes slid over. "The question Young One is what business do you have that brings you all the way through the Sundering Gardens to see me?" It was a playful question after her long morning.

Gabe wasn’t the sort that believed in religion. Those that were set up by or paid in tribute or whatever for the gods were never ever lasting. They all rose and fell at the drop of a coin; each were on borrowed time. One couldn’t truly get settled into one religion before it was swiftly replaced and filled by another. Too many philosophies and beliefs to get to know for his taste. He believed in doing only what one wanted, to abaddon with everything else. Duty, responsibility, honor…it was all rubbish. If others wanted to live such boring lives, then more power to them, he supposed. He was all in for number one. Always would be and always will. On today’s agenda, which not too surprisingly there was nothing, boredom sunk in as he carried around in his room in the tavern. What did he want to wet his whistle with this time? THen a thought came to his mind. That cute little she wolf spoke of an aunt that was a goddess. A rosenite, was it? His mind wandered for a bit, pondering about where he had heard that term before. Ah yes, it was from a older couple that were “blessed” by one of them, and from their coupling had succeeded in getting a child. Perhaps he should pay her visit, if not just to see what all the fuss was about with these beings. And so he followed the trail of roses to the gateway…It wasn’t very long into his journey that he had stumbled upon a field of trees, each producing fruits that he had never seen before, yet there were those beared his favorite. Reaching up to one of the branches, Gabriel picked a peach off and inspected it. Oh it looked so yummy and as he bite into it, the sweet juices filled his mouth and he mentally moaned in pleasure. “Don’t know if this extends from her power, but she’s a-okay in my book”, he spoke with a full mouth before taking in another bite. It got to the point where he was no longer thinking about meeting the goddess and just let his mind wander as he feed off the fruit. As he finished, he licked off the remnants of the fruit’s juices off his hand before it got too sticky and sought for another. SUrely she wouldn’t mind a few pieces missing, right?
