The rumors traveled to the Goddess quickly. There was first the stories of creatures in the forest tearing heads of travelers that dared to follow the caravans, however now they had altered to there being a carnival resting there. It was enough to bring Rhea over and see exactly was going on. The idea of something unusual and haunted always sparked her curiosity. She did not dabble in the world of the dead, but something that could fight death and remain in this world was amazing in her eyes. The travel from the town into the forest was a slow one because she had decided to make her way through the swampy forest. It was not the best travel for her dear horse, but he took her there all the same.

It became clear when she closed in onto the rumored locations that the creatures that had been lopping off heads were actually banshees. The reasoning behind why they had taken to murdering people that got close began to come together as she made it where all the caravans rested. It was a large carnival with ghostly people. Hazel eyes wandered the area curious as she unmounted her horse. Her eyes shifted to him to make sure he knew to remain there wordlessly and she began her adventure into the fairgrounds.

A smile grew on her lips, but it was hard to tell through her eyes what she was truly thinking. She spent a lot of time smiling. Anyone that knew her would know there something else playing in her head when she would smile like that.  The fair grounds was exciting as she continued her journey through the different caravans greeting the gypsies that ran it. The sight of the rotting qualities of some of them did not seem to bother her as asked them questions about their goods.

Her eyes shifted towards a small ghost dog that watched her from behind a corner of the caravan. Her body shifted a little to watch him, her curls of chocolate falling over her shoulders. "Why hello little puppy!" Sadly, all her soft words did was spook the dog and it darted away from her into the crowds of people.

Zephyra

Character Info
Name: Zephyra Rose
Age: 16
Alignment: CN
Race: Rosenite
Gender: Female
Class: Psionic
Silver: 187
Zephyra had decided to take a break from the daring adventures the carnival people provided. She had already tackled the banshees and could boast of killing five of them on her own, then she had braved the tops of the trees and the great big spider cocoon to collect vials of venom. She had done that in the company of an undead woman who was also trying out the things the carnival had to offer. She had been glad not to be up in that menacing cocoon alone in case she happened to accidentally step on one of the small spiders.

Now she was safely on the ground and was browsing through the carnival’s different areas and booths and games and wares. First she came across a ‘nearly headless’ man. Of course he was dead. You could see in gruesome detail where his spine had been severed but his head hung from hardened skin like a bouncy ball. He, however, was a very cheerful and upbeat person despite the fact that he was nearly headless.

Her stomach rumbled and she was hungry. Of course there were places that sold food, though she found out quickly that it was not the type of food she would want to eat or spend her crescents on. One dish was called maggot bread and they had rat tails and brains, cow tongues, and toad slime. As if her stomach knew the options, it stopped rumbling and growling and instead a tiny wave of nausea hit her. She reached in her bag and pulled out some dried meat to snack on.

One of the ghost dogs came running up to her, likely having smelled the meat she had in her hands. She tore off a piece and somehow he was able to eat it and keep it in his belly. When she finished her jerky she sat down and played with the pup, having a grand time with him. When she looked up she saw a woman try to make friends with a ghost dog who ran away afraid. So, she picked up the one she had been playing with and walked over.

“Some of them are more shy than others. This one is really friendly though.” She put him down and he ran around the woman’s feet and jumped up on her legs, barking for attention. “Name’s Zephyra Rose, daughter of Angela. You seem… different. Usually I can try and read people… with my unusual brand of magic but I can’t get anywhere near you.”
