All About Ladicius Bloodborn

Background

Within the lawless Pirate Haven of Vilpamolan, there existed a name once feared throughout the entire city; 'Ivan Bloodborn'. By now he has since become a vague memory of the past to most, or simply not a memory at all. However, in his time, even the slightest whisper of his name communicated the epitome of death. He was one of the the most skilled Assasin's in all of Vilpamolan, a master of his trade. He was also hailed to be one of the fastest men that ever lived. Rumors say that he was fast enough to dodge even instantaneous projectiles of magic, a feat most men to this day still deem as something humanly impossible.
As his only son and child, Ladicius's father had begun teaching him the fundamentals of the trade from youth, wanting him to survive in this cruel and corrupt haven of pirates, assasins, murderers, bandits, and lawlessness, and not become another one of Vilpamolan's numerous helpless victims, or another dead body in the street. Ladicius also learned the art of brewing varies poisons, many of which recipes were uniquely invented by his father, taught to no one else but to his dearly beloved son.
Ladicious's mother, Catherine Bloodborn, however, desired a completely different path for her son. Born of a wealthy and highly educated family, she educated Ladicius in varies books, literature, proverbs, speech, as well as the the art of alchemy. She desired him to become either a politician, scholar, or alchemist, and dreaded the concequences should her son decide to follow in his father's footsteps, and inherit his trade.
Within the city of Vilpamolan at that time, a new name and power was also rising; Alexander Steelheart. He was a man of great influence, with connections not only in Valpamolan, but in varies other parts of Canelux as well, including Adeluna. An ex-knight once held in high esteem, before falling into greed and corruption, he still held connections with varies shady high officials, politicians, and soldiers. He saw Ivan Bloodborn's presence as a threat, and seeked to eliminate him. However, one does not simply eliminate an assassin. Ivan Bloodborn was almost an impossible man to track. He hid his face in a mask for every work, even during discussions with his clients, and in the public he used a totally different name and identity. Therefore, Alexander Steelheart did what any man of influence would do in such a situation; he sought to bribe Ivan's closest colleagues and friends for information. Ivan Bloodborn became the victim of betrayal.
After learning of Ivan's public alias, identity, and location, Alexander Steelheart began his work of conspiracy. He worked together with other criminals of influence in Vilpamolan, as well as with other officials and politicians he had connections with, in order to frame Ivan Bloodborn's name with false accusations and crimes, and bring him to an end.
That night of commencement was a night Ladicius will never forget. As a youth at that time, only 15, he returned to his estate greeted by a bloodpoo ofl dead servants. Rushing upstairs, he witnessed the assassination of his screaming and crying mother, and brutally unlawful arrest of his father, who commanded his son to flee and escape.
Ladicius disappeared among the lawless streets of the city, no home to return to, and still in the constant danger of being searched out and killed. Eventually, he heard the news that his father had been put on trial, and that these false accusations had eventually led to his execution. The Bloodborn name, once feared and awed throughout the lands, had now become a name of scorn and disgrace.
Eventually the search for Ladicius Bloodborn ceased, believing that as a youth without a home in a crime-infested city, Ladicius had most likely already been murdered, or starved to death. It was believed that the Bloodborn name had now come to a permanent end. It was believed wrong….

Personality

Ladcius's heart harbors much rage and bitterness inside. Though, as his profession demands him to be, he is generally very rational and logical most of the time. His words and speech are often direct and unrestrained, and can come off as quite rude oftentimes. Yet, he does not have the unrefined speech style of your general criminals and cutthroats, due to the education from his wealthy mother. He is quite qualified to converse with noble's and the higher echelon of society if the situation calls for it, as well as with the common man. Transitioning from a youth of a wealthy lifestyle with great support from others, to complete poverty and total independence suddenly, has greatly molded and shaped his personality. He has an understanding of both the wealthy man, and the poor man.
As expected from his profession, he is also very calculative, often seeming to be thoroughly prepared for a situation, before it even takes place. As also expected, he is very distrusting of others. It is very difficult to gain his full trust, as he has commonly witnesses the act of betrayal on a regular basis. Although Ladicius is a assassin, he is not a murderer. He has grown accustomed to the sight death, but he generally does not kill unnecessary targets without a reason, for he still holds a consideration for the lives of the innocent.
