Saria is a human girl who comes equipped with a very dangerous book, a book that contains the soul of a once-vanquished dragon within it, and though she does not know it, she is learning magic which would be used by dragons, not people. She was kidnapped by Aelle, a viking Lord, during a raid on her village which was destroyed, and serves as his thrall.
