All About Kirsten Redwood
Appearance:
Kirsten is short of height, yet her build is quite stocky. Her training in melee combat and with crossbows is best reflected by her broad shoulders and strong arms. She wears her mousy-colored hair combed back and tied into a short ponytail. Her round face is not particularly repulsive, but it's not the prettiest sight either, especially peppered with marks from her recent scuffles at places. When not wearing her armor of padded cloth and leather, she opts to wear practical clothing, preferably a sleeveless shirt or tunic coupled with a pair of cloth trousers.
Story:
Born a third daughter of a huntsman and a needlewoman in an unremarkable village located in Highlands, Kirsten is an aspiring mercenary who primarily seeks to fuel her wanderlust and desire for action. Having been much more excited with hunting than needling, Kirsten spent much of her time assisting her father in hunting, much to the man's approval, as he had long wished to father a son to whom he could teach the secrets of his 'manly' trade. And he taught her much, before an unfortunate hunt resulted in his untimely death. Since then, Kirsten's mother became overly protective of her daughters, neither of which could take that well - especially Kirsten, who begun to develop anger outbursts. Upon coming of age, Kirsten got herself recruited into the local militia, where she had begun her martial training and where her skill with a crossbow was much appreciated. All this came much to her mother's dismay, especially taking into consideration that it all took place during great tensions which existed between their home village and the neighboring ones. The woman's efforts to divert her daughter from continuing to follow her path ended up making Kirsten a target of relentless teasing, ultimately causing Kirsten to leave her village and seek fortune further away, albeit not before giving a few of her most ardent jeerers a thorough beating.
The young woman's travels eventually brought her to Adeluna, where she got herself recruited into the City Guard, before her skill and character were noticed by the Guard's Officer, who offered to recommend Kirsten to the Adelunian Army's Recruitment Officers. Having expected as much action as she had back in her home village, she gleefully accepted. Her stint in the Army did not last for long, for she faced a disciplinary dismissal after assaulting and injuring a few other recruits who had badmouthed her, as well as her few acquaintances she had made. Since then, Kirsten went on to make a living alternating between mercenary tasks and odd jobs, such as pest control.
