All About Krecht
Character Name: Krecht
Nicknames & Alias: None
Age: He lost count after 200 but he'd guess around 220. Still young for a half-dragon
Height: 6'4"
Gender: Male
Race: Half-dragon
Hair: Black
Eyes: Golden
Skintone: Tanned
Build: Krecht is a large, imposing-looking creature. Many would not consider him humanoid at first glance. He's quite tall, though perhaps only average among the taller races. Though he knows little of classical fighting techniques, he is well-muscled, perhaps on the bulky side. Think of a bull, with a great deal of raw, untrained power, plus natural weapons.
Appearance: There is no mistaking that Krecht has something more than human in him. His "deformities" lead to many being frightened of him before attempting to know him. But take those away, and most would find him quite handsome. A forked tongue is perhaps the least obvious physical trait from his dragon father. Most noticeably, his chin protrudes to two small horn stubs, almost like a goat's beard except solid bone. His fingers end in thick claws, denying him of some dexterity though he is cautious and takes care when doing anything requiring precise movements, especially with his hands. He had to learn to make his own boots, as his feet are very dragon-like, as though someone crafted full dragon appendages to the ends of his legs. Most of his skin is tough, though only small portions are scaled.
Appearance in Age: Late 20s
Weapons of Choice: His claws/fists/himself
Magical Abilities: As half-dragon, he has greater-than-human strength, though not as much as a full dragon. And Krecht has not fully trained his dragon gifts. His fire breath is his last resort and he'd rather not use it for fear of injuring anyone caught in the blast that wasn't the intended target.
Backstory: Born to a male brass dragon and a female human during a tour. His mother was a performer and a fling with the brass dragon led to her being pregnant. Krecht was the only child born from that union, though he had 5 other half-siblings from various fathers. His mother never married but did her best to love her children equally. Not all of the children were so kind to each other, though, and one older brother was quite good at bullying the younger children. Krecht stood up for his other siblings but no one ever repaid the favor. Still, he loved all of his siblings, even the older brother that teased him. He was (obviously) the largest of the children and was right in the middle age-wise but he was often the only one who remained cheerful and wasn’t drawn into fights. He was usually the one trying to cheer up the others. As they grew up and traveled with their mother’s troupe, a few eventually went to stay with their fathers, separating the “family” but Krecht mostly stayed with his mother. Until he was 30 years old when his father came to collect him and teach him about his heritage. He quickly fell in love with the dragon culture and loved to watch his father burrow into the sand. He learned to fight a little from his father and only grew more under him. He eventually went out on his own. In the human settlements, he faced a good deal of scorn for his features, though he stayed as cheerful as ever. It took a few years but he found his mother’s troupe once again. She had retired in that time and he went to see her one last time before she died. By that time, he was nearly 200 years old. He had some treasure from his father but decided to follow in his mother’s footsteps and join an acting troupe. He didn’t think he had much talent though he found from various auditions that he had a good singing voice. However, he just liked being in such a vibrant group of people. He still found he preferred dragons and there were a few times when he met other half-dragons. He was fiercely attached to the other half-dragons, though they didn’t often share the feeling. He thought they were wonderful, as each one showed their dragon features in a different way. Some hid them which was sad but reminded him of oysters hiding pearls. Some proudly displayed theirs. He didn’t make many close friends with any of the half-dragons though he greatly respected them and made it a point to remember everything about them. In all his years,
Personality: An example of contradictions. He has a low view of himself but holds dragons as mighty beings, nearly god-like. Half-dragons (with the exception of him) are below them but still to be respected and revered. Humans, elves, dwarves, etc are third in the listing, with him falling slightly below them. He’s very excitable and loves to laugh. He’s passionate in that when he likes something, he truly loves it. He has the initial appearance of a playboy, a handsome rouge but his personality is more of that of a puppy’s. He enjoys being outside, especially in the sun, but he also enjoys seeing new places. He’s a talented singer but he makes most of his money doing grunt work for an acting troupe he travels with. He’s their lifter and occasionally, when more famous acts cannot perform, he’ll sing. He never stands up for himself but will protect others when needed. He’s very strong and a decent fighter when he needs to be. Altogether, he’s a happy, cheerful sort and it takes quite a bit to make him unhappy.
