All About Lucile

Character Name: Lucile

Name Meaning: Lucile is a feminine derivative of the name Lucifer. It's a moniker that Lucile gave herself, when she became intelligent enough to do so.

Age: 4

Height: 5'2" / 157 cm

Weight: 342.5lbs / 155kg

Gender: Female

Race: Magical Anomaly (refers to herself as an Elysium Mimic)

Physical Appearance: Lucile is a slimy and amorphous creature, almost entirely composed of a malodorous acid, which is so potent that it can completely dissolve a full-grown human in a matter of hours. Extreme caution is advised in avoiding any contact with this creature, as even an accidental brush up can lead to severe burns. Lucile is so pungent that she repulses most things, but there have been some who enjoy the smell.

She has five large eyes with dilated red pupils. Each of these eyes can move independently of each other, and appear to be immune to the acidic properties of the rest of Lucile's body. It is theorized that Lucile's mouth is simply a sixth eye, the pupil of which is obscured, that Lucile opens and closes to give the illusion of a functional mouth as she speaks.

Magical Abilities: Lucile's primary ability is to consume others with her acidic body over the course of several hours. From there, Lucile copies and assimilates them into herself in order to gain the entity's memories and physical appearance. She gains the consumed individual's appearance and can imitate their voice at will. In short, Lucile's power is of mimicry and the retention of information from consumed victims.

Lucile has no solid organs, meaning that she can survive blunt force or a stabbing with little to no harm at all. While her eyes can be harmed through normal means, they regenerate within minutes, repairing any damage.

Lucile's vision is enhanced by her many eyes, allowing her to see beyond the visible spectrum and even into the thermal spectrum.

Lucile's primary weakness comes in the form of temperature extremes. Frigid temperatures result in Lucile's body becoming brittle, and too non-malleable to change her appearance. Blisteringly hot weather, on the other hand, results in her becoming too runny to reliably shift into a believable disguise.

Another threat to Lucile is water. Water and other thin liquids greatly weaken Lucile. Water dilutes her viscous body, and can effectively wash whole chunks of her body away. Exposure to large bodies of it, like lakes or rivers, is potentially fatal.

Personality: Lucile has a villainous persona she is deliberately trying to cultivate. Lucile appears to spend a fair amount of time philosophizing on the exact nature of villainy and what constitutes a "bad guy." Part of the reason why she wants to make people hate her is to explore the dichotomy between a hero and a villain. Lucile presently strives to understand what constitutes morality.

For now, though, Lucile's ambivalent nature manifests itself as an insatiable curiosity as opposed to antagonistic behavior. Almost everything she says is phrased as a question, indicative of her desire to learn how people think and behave. Because of this, Lucile is also a notorious prankster, to put the people around her in all sorts of simulated stress, simply to see how they'd react in and handle the situation.

Backstory: Lucile doesn't know exactly where she came from, or even why she's alive. Lucile once existed as a small pool of sickly tar in the deepest parts of the forest. One day, though, a crow made the mistake of pecking at the liquid, and was promptly consumed by it. Having devoured basic survival skills from the small scavenger, Lucile was animalistic for a long time, feeding on the creatures of the forest, growing smarter with each feeding.

Her kills kept getting bigger and bigger, until one day, she took the life of a human hunter. She was fascinated by the knowledge she stole from the human, but more than that, his memories. Through those, Lucile learned that man was the head of a family. A wife, elderly parents, and four children. Curious about what exactly a family is, (and whether or not she can grow more knowledgeable from it) Lucile made her way to the hunter's cabin while wearing his shape.

The hunter was welcomed home by his daughter, a girl no older than nine. She ran out to the edge of the forest to hug her father tightly.

She was devoured by Lucile.

Lucile was suddenly overwhelmed by a horrible, smothering sensation. Not understanding it at the time, she lashed out against the influx of emotion by consuming the rest of the family. The more intelligent she grew, the worse this feeling became. Only after emptying that cabin of all life did she realize what she had done - what that sensation was. She felt guilty. She was finally intelligent enough to understand her own actions, and she was horrified by her own monstrous behavior. She screamed, pulled chunks out of herself, cried and begged for forgiveness but there was no one to hear her.

It has been two years since then.
