Looking to make a story worth telling. Nuff' said.

All About Villiden the Vile

Odenboro, a small village located in a green valley is plagued by horrific beasts. These beasts crawl from a portal at the top of an icy mountain, where a purple glow emanates from the peak. Years ago, the village elders decided that the only way to save their people was to sacrifice the son of a heathen, so they took the firstborns of Odenboro and killed them at the top of the mountain, and the beasts ceased.

Years pass and the older sister of one of those sons has figured out how to revive her lost brother. Using forbidden magic, she climbs to the top of the mountain and successfully resurrects the child, though with a cost. The magic she used transformed the boy, giving him the horns of the Vulvizen, the Horned Fox. The Odenborites see the boy and call him a horned demon, banishing the girl and her brother to the outskirts of the valley, labelling the woman a witch. To add to her mistake, the beasts returned shortly afterwards, forcing the citizens of Odenboro to forge a wooden wall between themselves and the beasts. The town lost faith in their old religion, refusing to give away their sons a second time. Ten years later, a great beast of Flame lays waste to their town, burning the wall and killing thirty people. Feeling responsible, the witch confesses all her sins to her little brother, telling him that had he never been brought back, then the village would still be standing. These were the last words she said to Villiden, who stormed off and made it his quest to kill himself atop the mountain again, to save his people and fix what he felt was his fault. Armed with nothing but his horns and his sickle, Villiden begins his mission of death, for their sake, and for hers.

His year-long trek does not go without many encounters with large beasts, whom he realised he could tame rather than kill. One beast, in particular, takes a liking to him, the bone-sucker. Taking advantage of the horns at the top of his head, the bone-sucker grew to enjoy the boy's company. Villiden learned to mount and use this beast, whom he named Vax, to help him on his journey. After his long friendship with the beast, Villiden learned that taming these creatures was a far better strategy than sealing them away, so he ended his quest to the mountain and pledged his mission to liberate and aid the other horned people of the world and free the beasts.

Villiden is quick-witted and crafty, often using his sickle for traversing the environment and solving puzzles rather than in physical conflict. Do not be fooled however, this boy has received years of violence and mistreatment, and he will not refrain from repaying it to those that wrong him and others.
