All About Rayne
An elf, about 5"6, and tall for their age. Shortish, dead straight hair the colour of lightning bolts. Rayne has sharp eyes, grey as thunder clouds and is often described as a gift from the storm herself. They have an oddly angular appearance, a face seemingly made of points, and although odd, their appearance is almost mesmerising, nearly impossible to look away from. Something about them is magnetic.
Rayne is truly a good person, though often she is blown astray by the wind (metaphorically speaking, of course) She is the kind of person to see an injured bee and completely forget quite what she was doing, in order to help it. Once, she took home a wounded pigeon, much to the dismay of her guardians, a kindly pair, humans, who had a strange combination of interests; reading, crochet and, oddly, running. When I say running, I do in fact mean slowly ambling around the streets for ten minutes. They are both elderly after all.
You will notice i said guardian, rather than parent, or even grandparent. For, true to her unruly appearance, The child was found, bundled in cloth, on a stormy beach. Locals had herd the soft cries of a child coming, and a band of the braver few volunteered to go and investigate. It was almost passed to be a trick of the wind, until the child was found, angrily wailing into a small blanket. Our wizened pair, previously mentioned, volunteered quickly to care for the young one. It was a standing joke that Rayne was lightning's child. The reality different. You see, tucked in the cloth was a note
'Please, care for my child. I can not for unexplainable reasons. Find someone good to raise her as your own. But remember, she is not yours but mine, and one day i will come back for her. I will come for you my young babe.'
It had been 13 years. No one returned.
One day, Rayne decided she needed more. A thirst for adventure. Though her guardians disapproved, they knew it to be pointless to try to stop her, so that brings us to the present. A young elf navigating the world, picking up odd jobs here and there, getting by just fine.
