Personality
Gareth is a silly old man with forgetful tendencies. One minute he'll remember where he placed his shoes and the next moment he will completely forget. He is easy-going and very casual with the rest of the world, as though few surprised him anymore. The old man enjoys poking fun at the world and even himself, for he feels the universe can get too serious. His stories usually have happy endings and he'll even readjust old stories to create something with happiness. Gareth rarely raises his voice and often has a warm nature about him but sometimes he'll get this tired saddened look in his eyes…

And sometimes he can come off as a lazy man who wishes to do nothing at all.

Backstory
Gareth used to serve as a mage in Iria's military a long time ago, back when he was far younger. He had a husband named Hudson and a daughter named Isabelle. They were a happy family who lived out their lives. His husband was a baker in the town and made all sorts of sweets whenever Gareth returned home from his military missions. Isabelle had decent schooling and eventually grew up to be a fiesty soldier. She joined the military and began climbing the ranks, hoping to be like Gareth. One day, there was a war and Isabelle was one of the soldiers selected to go fight. Gareth was involved in a different mission and wasn't able to be there when Isabelle died from a particularly bad injury.

After that, Gareth quit the military and spend the rest of his time with his husband in the little bakery on Els street. It was a nice, quiet life and Gareth focused on studying magic itself and spending his time with his beloved Huddy. It was a warm and kind time for him. For some extra cash, he would spend his free time teaching students the art of magic and brewing teas to sell along with the baked goods.

But an elf has far more time than a human and soon Gareth ran out of the special youth potion to keep his husband around longer. His husband died of old age. Gareth kept a hold on the bakery for a long time but it quickly went out of business with its main chef missing. Eventually Gareth sold it, keeping only the few things his husband treasured.

He traveled for a long time, encountering events and stories. After some time, he decided to repeat these stories to others and used his magical abilities to make them more enchanting. It was the only thing he could do to keep that everlasting lonliness at bay.
