Born to a wealthy family and the only child, Antiel was spoiled growing up. She did enjoy reading, and spent quite a bit of time in the libraries. One dusty tome caught her eye, tucked away into a corner and clearly meant to be hidden. In it, she found magics forbidden to her kind, and Antiel read through it eagerly. She found that she had an aptitude for shadow magic, a far cry from the natural magics favored by most elves. But it was her own secret, and she was eventually married off to an elvish nobleman. However, she found her husband boring, and he soon died in an 'accident', leaving Antiel to do as she wished. But it was far more limited than she would have preferred. Deciding that she was bored with elvish society, and its limitations for her gender, she sought out the Prince of Shadows. Leaving her entire household dead, Antiel severed her ties with her people, and traveled the Cold Road to the Keep of Endless Night…

She found what she wanted within the Keep, but her God fell far too soon. Antiel was cast into limbo, left to wander the shadows until she found her way out. And that way out lay within the realm of the Goddess of Keys and Secrets.
