All About Drisa Maetlar

Appearance: A drider is an odd sight, most easily described as 'like a centaur, but with a drow and a spider rather than a human and a horse'. For the drow part, Dirsa follows all the norms - dark, velvety skin, an angular, fine boned face with knife-pointed ears. Her fine, silken white hair falls over one side of her face, and well past the middle of her back. Where her face differs is the eight gleaming red eyes, two larger and dominating her face, the others smaller, and arranged around the larger pair. There is also the slight bulge of venom sacks in her throat, and her hooked, dark fangs glinting against full red lips.
Her spider half gleams, her carapace smooth and durable chitin. Her markings follow that of the golden orb weaver

Personality: Shy, socially anxious, doesn't speak much. Gentle natured, loves and adores her stronger, braver sister. Wants to make pretty things for everyone.

History:
In drow culture, those who fall afoul of their goddess, Lloth, are doomed to become half-drow, half-spider - the drider. Many see the drider as being mindless beasts, monsters to serve as a warning to obey the goddess, and toe the line, lest the same fate befall you. Some see them as divine servants of Lloth, embodiments of Her will. Not many pause to think that they may have a culture - even settlements - all their own.

Drisa's parents were two Lloth-cursed drow who found companionship in the other. Their union bore twin daughters, Adulaena and Drisa, both pure-blooded drider. They never saw a typical drow city, for all the similarities they bore visually to the dark elves, instead roaming the dark tunnels of their colony's lair. Even monsters such as cursed-drider could feel lonely and seek out others so afflicted, and so, while not exactly bustling, the girls grew up in a place with others of their kind. Drisa, the younger of the two, was quiet, reserved, and thoughtful. Adulaena was brave, outspoken, but doted on her sister. They were inseparable.

So when Adulaena wanted to venture above ground, and see what there was to be seen, Drisa followed. Her sister found enough skill with weapons to keep them both safe. Drisa was not so talented, instead being a gifted weaver, able to spin her natural silk into wondrous garb, strong, light rope, or any other number of things. Soon enough, the sisters had opened up shop, Adulaena working the front of the store, Drisa producing the goods. It was a peaceful, good time for the pair.
