Hello!

All About Rhafala

'You are a fire - as feared as you are respected'

Name: Rhafala (ra-fahl-ah)
Nickname/s: Farla. Far. Rhaf. Skyfire. Grumpbird
Age: 355 Years
Hatchday: 12th of August

Species: Xigon - think bird-dragon
Faction: The Slayers - her 'guild', as such, back home. She still holds to their creed, and acts as they taught her

General Appearance:
Human Form

Since coming to Revaliir, Rhaf has been 'stuck' in a human form. She doesn't know how, she doesn't care how, she just wants to be back to normal as soon as possible. She's a striking human, with tanned skin, with her right eye a bright blue and her left a cloudy, pale blue. Short, red hair frames her face, and her body is marked in tattoos reminiscent of feathers and scales. Rhaf tends to wear as little clothing as possible while remaining decent - she loathes having cloth constrict her body, and moves like one unused to their own limbs. Because she is.

Please note all art of my grumpbird is done by me, and is owned by me. You don't want her anyway - she bites
Far is a small sized Xigon, standing at approximately eight foot at the shoulder, while being above average in length, and possessed of a slim, athletic build. Her entire body, bar the throat, is covered in feather-scales, with the feather-scales growing into a bird-like tail, with a dragon tail at the centre. In colouration, she is a bronze-yellow for most of her underside, though the top sides of her wings and face are a cream colour, with markings in an almost gold-yellow. There is a crest of long, deep red feathers atop her head. This crest can be raised or lowered to express moods. On the side of her head, Far has a grey horn, that curves out from the face, before arching back towards the neck. The horns, from above, resemble crescents, and serve to defend the vulnerable neck when the head is arched back. Above these bigger horns are two smaller, one on each side of her head. The one on her left is snapped, however, ending in a jagged point rather than the smooth barb of the right. The upper jaw is beaked, with the tip a sharp hook, while the lower jaw is more rounded, and lined with sharp fangs.

Far's legs are scaled, like those of an immense bird, and coloured a drab grey, though the thick plates on the front of the legs show scuffing and some scars here and there. The talons themselves are long and hooked, and the xigon tends to make clicking noises as she walks on hard surfaces. Which is why, usually, Far will fly to wherever she needs to go, using broad, powerful wings, the undersides of which are webbed, and coloured like a dusky sky. Towards the wingarm, the webbing is a deep purple, lightening to paler colour on the outer edge. One other thing to note are her eyes - The one on the right is blazing blue, like the desert sky, the other is gone, ripped from her head, an ugly scar all that's left to remember it by. Never one to let something as trivial as a missing eye get in the way of burning things, Far has replaced it with an orb of molten glass, which, while not very good for seeing, is great for intimidating people. The glass-eye doesn't hurt Far, who, like all Xigon, has an immense resistance to heat and fire.

As she moves, one gets a sense of the character within - despite her looks, Far is not a creature of sunshine and warmth, at least, not in the cheery sense. No, Far is a hunter, and her warmth is that of a furious sun, angered by the very notion that there are those who will defy the natural order of things. Far doesn't walk, she stalks, her every move bringing to mind a predator on the trail.

Height in Feet: Eight foot at the shoulder
Preferred Style: She wears satchels criss-crossed across her chest, for storing bits and bobs. Usually sand or molten glass. The satchels are crafted from the fire-bladders of the sand-wyrms of her homeland, and are both immune to fire, and very tough to cut open. As well, she often wears shards of glass woven into her feather-scales, and has some baubles of molten glass dangling from her horns.
Scars/Marks/Noticeable Abnormalities: Missing her left eye - it's replaced with a globule of molten glass.

Personality: The xigon were created to combat undead and, while some of that race take this duty less seriously than others, there are, of course, those that make it their life. Far is one of the latter. Her entire being is centred around the desire, the need, to rid the world or undeath, and she will go to any means necessary to see this done. The xigon comes across as ruthless, for she has little mercy for those afflicted by the undead, be they thrall, infected, or sympathiser. Far has a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to the undead, and those that willingly deal with them, either to cure or aid, will burn with them. This isn't the norm for Xigon, and Far is seen as an extreme case, even for the Slayer Caste. Though it should be noted that she doesn't much care what her peers think.

The world to Farla is black and white, with no room for greys. Undead, even if they seem to want to reform and be 'good' people, can never be so. They will always fall victim to their base desires, and hurt anyone caught in the backlash. It's completely lost on Far that the same could be said of her - in the xigon's opinion, whatever she does is justified, as long as one more undead is returned to ash. Her disgust for undead is a result comprised of centuries of battling them, and a solid belief that, by refusing to give their souls to the Void, undead are damaging the course of nature. Added to that is the way undead trick their way into communities, only to destroy them, let it boil away for a few years, and viola. You have one angry Slayer.

The Slayer is extremely stubborn, and rarely gives up on anything, be it an idea or hunt, for anything less than imminent death. She pushes herself hard, often spending days, if not weeks, aloft in search of her next target, and demands similar service form those who infrequently travel and work with her. For all this, though, Far never asks someone looking to her to do something, or go somewhere, she herself wouldn't.

It could be expected that Rhafala makes for a poor leader - she holds everyone to her standard, and if you fall behind, you stay behind. Those weaker than her should, in her view, stay home and let proper fighters do the hard work. The Xigon is well aware that it takes all types to make the world go round - but she has no sympathy for weaklings playing at soldiers rather than sticking to their farms.

Considering that Far has lived her entire life within a combat situation of one kind or another, it stands to reason that she is very cynical, viewing any offer of aid, or a warm welcome with a mental weighing of the situation. Every situation is loaded, and lives can hang on her decision. Landwalkers, more than anything, cannot be trusted to hold to their word - they're not Xigon, and they think nothing alike. It will take a greater mind than Far to even divine what a Landwalker is thinking, let alone why.

Far does have some redeeming points, however - for once, she is extremely loyal, even to the race that regard her with fear. If you somehow earn her good favour, you can count on an angry, flaming mass of tooth and claw to be at your side, all the way to Hell and back. She also possesses a strong stomach, in the metaphorical sense. When one deals with undead, once becomes inured to their particular brand of ickniness. Very little can phase her - once you've seen a village utterly destroyed and soaked in blood, or a centuries old corpse that refuses to stay dead, there is little else to compare.

While she won't hesitate to burn those that aid or support undead, Far will likewise turn all her will to defending those that refute them. As mentioned before, she believes everyone has their place in the world, and hers is to defend the helpless from undead monsters. In summary, if you are in any way sympathetic to undead, or undead yourself, Far will stop at nothing to destroy you. If you are simply a bystander, then Far will do all she can to protect you.
